Sum it up”

Pros are value for money , good rooms , good staff good amenities. The down side is the rooms are way to hot even with heating off in room for 2 nights! There is underfloor heating in shower room which can’t be turned off and is on permanent. This follows on to my next issue as the hotel is on a main road into city . Opening the windows to cool the room isn’t a option. I tried this and couldn’t sleep due to noise of traffic throughout the night.

Nice little gem in Newcastle ”

I stay here once every month as it’s quietly tucked away in one of Newcastle’s busiest roads. From it’s staff members to the rooms it’s an absolute exceptional hotel. And the price is like staying at a 4* for the price of a 2*.

Over charged, horrible bed”

Clean hotel. But when I book a double room, it generally for 2. Forced to pay extra ( no option they had my money) the bed is reminiscent of a lie down in the jail. Hard and not comfortable. There are great hotels in the wonderful city of Newcastle unfortunately this is not one of them; heard the restaurant is amazing from many locals though so a pro in there...somewhere.

Nice and quiet ”

Great hotel .. very nice and polite staff. Free ample parking space and very quiet at night. What one wants after a long journey. Rooms are spacious and tidy too. And above all it’s like a 4* hotel with economy prices. Quality hotel with very reasonable prices.

GREAT STAY....”

We went for the ELO concert and were pleased to find that it was an easy and pleasant walk to the Metro Arena...would certainly use the Ryokan again for any future concerts. Oh by the way...nice breakfast as well......the restaurant next door is also very good with nice staff and great food.

Good place for travel around Newcastle ”

If you NUFC fan you must love this place because hotel near stadium and city center 10 min walk. and room is clean and breakfast all staff is great

Value for location”

2 km from train station. Awesome price/night (no breakfast).

Okay hotel for the price”

The room was clean, staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. I didn’t try the breakfast. Location is a 15-20 up hill walk from the train station so if you have a large suit case it might not be the best hotel for you. I got my room for under £50 per night. If going to Newcastle by train I wouldn’t pay more than this For a room at this hotel, as there are more conveniently located hotels closer to the city centre for a little more. If you are driving they have a nice size car parking area outside which i assume is free to use. Over all a clean and comfortable hotel, which I would recommend to friends if they could get a room on agoda for under £50/night.

On arrival the receptionist was disinterested, initially ignored my presence and was not welcoming - generally displaying an apathetic attitude However my dealings with other staff was fine and they were polite and helpful

Great Value”

Very clean hotel. Huge comfortable bed. Bathroom was bigger than I expected and very modern. Great customer service from the guy on the desk. Great value for money. Pity we didn’t have time to try the restaurant as it gets good reviews. Will return and recommend to friends.

Excellent place. Attention to a high level of detail”

Very clean and tidy place. Staff very helpful and polite. Breakfast buffet sufficent selections for a hearty breakfast. A no hastle place with free onsite parking.

Nice hotel ”

This is a nice hotel about 20 minute walk into town. the hotel has plenty of parking and is well kept with the rooms being well equipped and to a good standard. There is no bar and the main restaurant used for breakfast is the Indian restaurant on site. We were not taking breakfast anyway but would have been put off by the fact no bacon and sausages only halal alternatives. This is a good place to stay but lacks any atmosphere
