Just to make it short -> go there if you are in Tokyo. Even the restaurant/bar is worth going to but the rooms, breakfast, service etc. is just amazing

Style, location, service”
Elegant Japanese minimalist boutique hotel in a great location, near but not too near the Shibuya Crossing, with excellent service from a young but attentive staff. Bar, for hotel guests only, is simple but refined, and is also the place for excellent western style breakfast in the morning. Highly recommended.

A strange brew.”
First, the pros: It’s in a prime location, not far from the famous Shibuya crossing. It is a moody, high style decor, a unique exercise in modern Japanese minimalism which is right up my ally and the rooms are very well equipped for anything you might need for your stay. I appreciate that attention to detail, such as a package of “q-tip” cotton swabs ( in black of course) and a handy fold-away brush. Unfortunately, these practical conveniences were spoiled by the rather strange arrangement of the hotel. The large letters identifying the name of the hotel on the outside seem to indicate that it is the main purpose of the building, but upon entering the establishment, I found myself in a restaurant in the same room as the reception desk. Even more bazar was that the reception desk was apparently doing double duty as a DJ station for there were dual turntables and sound equipment about. Is this place a night club, a restaurant or a hotel? Strange brew. Definitely not for everyone.

Hotel is small and doesn’t have the expertise you’d expect from a chain but the location is unreal”
Staff doesn’t have the clout that large chain hotels do to get you reservations which you often need in Tokyo but the location is unmatchable, truly the best. And the concept of the hotel is really cool with the cafe and store as well.

Dark & Cramped, Disappointed”
I travel frequently to Japan and have been looking for an excuse to stay at Hotel Koe since it opened! Sadly this ended up being a disappointing experience for my three days there. I understand that most hotel rooms in Japan are small, but I found the tiny size of this room to be poor value for the money–I paid around $200 a night but is usually $400+ a night online. The dark grey shade of the interiors was an odd choice considering the tiny size of the hotel; it made everything feel much smaller and, frankly, depressing. Especially given the fact that the "members' only lounge" where breakfast is served is dark w/ no windows; the grey little cave was not an enjoyable start to my mornings. The "lobby" downstairs is lovely with lots of natural light, but is packed nearly 24/7 with visitors. There really isn't a comfortable or relaxing place for guests, which would help a lot because the room is only a bed, w/ no chair or even room to open a suitcase.

Hotel Koe is situated in a good location (heart of Shibuya). Rooms back on to the road and are very noisey at night. You will hear all vehicle and person traffic passing by.

I was expecting a 5 star hotel but this is def not. The inclusive breakfast was very basic with just a few pieces of bread and cold hard boiled egg. Disappointing.

If design is everything for you. You'll like (to look at) Koé. But if you expect a minimum of service, flexibility or normal hotel amities - search on for alternatives. Koé is probably is a good idea. But it needs to decide if it should be an event place, a fashion shop, a bakery, an order and pick up counter bar - or as announced - a hotel. From a completely disorganised check-in, no acceptance of international credit cards, lack of wifi outside your room, a guest lounge as only option for guests to have privacy, work a little and have a meeting closing between 6 and 8 without offering hotel guests any other options for relaxation (except for the french fries smelling ground floor bakery slash coffee to the complete lack of information. This 'hotel' is all about inside-out. They cater to their own needs, they have built an operation comfortable for them with the guests' needs completely absent. There is zero will, wish or capability to accommodate the needs of the guest.

I was looking for a design hotel in Tokyo.. and KOE is just that.. the raw, modern rustic is consistent though out from the room, lounge, cafe and the shop.. The cafe and shop on the first floor creates a nice energetic atmosphere for the hotel!

Is it worth it?”
I stayed at extra large room and for the price, it wasn’t worth it AT ALL. Facility, and environment over all was okay. However, I asked if I can use the lounge area since I had some time to kill and they said it was fine for like an hour. I was just sitting in the lounge working on my computer while there were no one using the space, the employee kept asking when I’ll be leaving several times. First of all, late check out wasn’t available and that’s understandable. But using the lounge area? Never had this kind of experience in any hotels.

Perfekte Lage mitten in Shibuya und 5 Minuten von der JR-Line, mit der man eigentlich 90% der Ziele in Tokyo bestens erreicht. Englischsprachiges Personal und an Freundlichkeit nicht zu überbieten. Design und Style perfekt, lediglich Frühstücksraum ein wenig zu kühl und ohne Fenster.

Hotel is exceptionally well run with no exceptions, from its orignal idea. Very clear thoughts and inspired vision are behind every single detail. Hotel Design is superb, rooms are hyper cool, every single detail (furniture, amenities etc.), is well made. The organization as well, staff is extremely efficient, very professional and friendly warm at the same time. Hotel surprisily includes a Tea Menu of an excellent quality. Café at ground floor is an amazing location to relax at morning time, socialize afternoon time and feel good vibes at eve. This is definetely how a boutique hotel must be run.

Perfekt läge i Shibuya. Snyggt, litet design hotel men modern yngre vibe. Rummen men är små men funktionella och bra säng. Snyggt! Det var dock väldigt kallt på nätterna från de stora fönstret vilket de gjorde det svårt att sova bra. För dåligt isolerade fönster för kalla nätter under vintern.(Var där i februari.) De hade någon slags event som gjorde ordning för tidigt på morgonen vilket väckte mig (slog i dörrar och lät) vilket inte är ok. Synd att vakna till det.

前から気になっていた Hotelkoe 建築にも興味があるので来てみたいホテルの一つでした。 とても内装が素敵でした。 BARでの接客がとても素敵で、お酒の苦手なパートナーもBARの良さを認識していたみたいでとても楽しいとの声をいただきました、 担当していただいたバーテンダーさん(daiさん)の人柄だと思います。 提供していただいたお酒も最高でした。 日頃接客の仕事をしているので少し気になったのですが、 一階でのチェックアウトの際のスタッフの笑顔が足りなかったような気がします。 全ての終わりなのでまた来たいと思うその気持ちを出すにはそこの接客大事なのかなと思ったりもします。 都心のお店の接客はやや笑顔にかけてたり態度が悪いことが多いです。 小さいことかもですがとても大事な事と、 日本人には感じる事かも知れません。
