What a gem !!!!”
We found The Keswick totally by chance on an internet search. Coming from New Zealand, my wife wanted to stay a night somewhere nice en route to family in Scotland. We struck gold with the Country House Hotel !!! A beautiful old building set in a stunning location. The staff were all brilliant and welcoming, the room comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was incredible….what a feed !!!! Perfectly situated to enjoy the crazily busy town of Keswick and everything it has to offer. We loved our very brief stay in a beautiful hotel and will surely stay again if we come back to the UK again !!!

Beautiful setting with friendly, helpful staff. Will definitely be going back. Room clean with lovely bathroom , lovely breakfast ( only " complaint" is I personally prefer runny fried eggs- still if thats all thats wrong , dont change a thing 😀).

Friendly Hotel”
Stayed for 5 nights. 3 people in 3 rooms. Size/standard of rooms was quiet different considering all were booked as the same grade. All rooms appeared clean and were comfortable. One room a bit on the small side given it was sold as a deluxe room. Friendly but courteous staff. Only disappointment was the limited hours the dining room was available for dinner service. We arrived at 20:05 and were advised we were too late to get dinner. Very limited opening times were an issue such that we ate at local restaurants on every evening. Given that for most people the point of visiting the Lake District is to get out and see the countryside the limited, early restaurants opening hours, seemed at odds with that activity. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay.

Thought the hotel was great valve for money big room comfortable beds and bedding breakfast was excellent. Staff were friendly. It is an older hotel but though decor was nice and fresh in bars and restaurants area and the room we had. Only a 5 min stroll the to town centre so ideal. It is right next to the local swimming baths and gym which was a bonus.

Pleasant country hotel, quite expensive”
Stayed four nights, two adults and one toddler. Bed was huge, but mattress was very old and you could feel the springs poking through in places. Room was clean and spacious, although a little dated and showing some signs of wear. There was no A/C in our room, which might be uncomfortable if the weather is very summery, especially as the sash windows don't open very far. Hotel areas are clean and well presented. Bar and lounge are great, lots of little rooms to break up the groups of people. Location is great for Keswick, it's an easy five minute walk into the centre of the town. The gardens are pleasant in the sun, and there's a nice park nextdoor with a cafe and the museum. Restaurant was top-notch, had a really good meal, and service was quick. All hotel staff we encountered were brilliant, very friendly and accommodating. Price was pretty high, but I think that's due to the pandemic, really. In normal times I would expect a lot more given the cost of the stay. There's parking for about 50 cars outside the hotel, then the long road leading up to the hotel has parking on both sides. Make sure you ask at reception for a card to put in your window if you need to park on the road, since you have to pay at the machine, otherwise.
