A classic Victorian Station Hotel”
I went to a colleague's Wedding Reception in Newcastle by train as I wanted to have a relaxed time without needing to worry about driving so The Royal Station Hotel fitted the requirement perfectly - it's next door to Newcastle Central Station. Location is very handy with most of the city centre in easy walking distance and if you need to venture further afield then there's the Metro, plenty of buses or a taxi. First impressions were excellent, the building is a stunning example of the sort of hotel the railway companies built in the era when money was no object. The reception area is magnificent and throughout the building the Victorian features have been carefully preserved. At the same time all of the modern conveniences you'd expect are present and although my stay was short my room was very comfortable and the facilities were perfect for my needs. Staff were all fantastic and I felt very welcome. Breakfast looked lovely, just a shame I wasn't hungry enough for a Full English! All in all I was very impressed with the Royal Station Hotel and will certainly stay there again next time I spend time in Newcastle.

Great location, great staff”
Having stayed several times in this beautiful hotel in the past, on my last trip I was kept awake for two nights by a group of very noisy guests. For this current stay, I mentioned this when booking and asked for a quiet room. Naomi was fantastically helpful and gave me a wonderful room at the end of a corridor, and I slept for 7 hours straight last night! Christine on the desk when I arrived was also lovely, as are all the restaurant staff.

A friendly welcome with nice helpful staff, clean spacious room with everything we needed. Centrally located and close to everything, was pleasantly surprised for the price we paid, value for money.

We could not fault the hotel at all… all staff extremely welcoming and friendly room was spotless and the bed was really comfy. Breakfast was delicious with so much choice. Hotel decor fits perfect in this grand hotel and we would not hesitate to book again xx

Friendly and well Located”
Perfect location for city centre, train station with lovely welcoming staff and a very nice cooked breakfast included. We travelled to see football so were only there one night, but were able to leave luggage, check in later on and with late check out on a Sunday at 11am it was so convenient.They stagger breakfast so you are asked to book your time which is sensible and the staff manage the food and service superbly.Unlike other large hotels where there are massive queues just before service closes, and food runs short.I was really impressed. We booked small doubles and it looked like I could upgrade but the app didn't seem to facilitate this.The room was adequate in size with big bathroom, but the bed is against a wall on one side which was my only negative point.

Convenient location”
Just a one night stopover, close to where we needed to be, good price, small fridge, iron and ironing board in the room, yes you can hear the trains but you are next to the station, i would stop here again.

Decent for a weekend away”
Came down for the weekend for the Murder 57 event. Event room was lovely and had a very nice 3 course meal. Generally, had a nice room. Was clean, tidy and warm. Although a little too warm at times, unable to open the window. Shower was okay but took a very long time to go hot and didn't go hot at all at one point. Buffet cooked breakfast was nice but coffee wasn't so nice. All in all, had a nice time and the hotel was comfortable for the weekend.

Fantastic hotel and location”
The location is amazing and the hotel is great. The rooms my friends and I were in (friend group, not a stag or hen party) were generally clean and a good deal for the money. The rooms are looking like they could use a little tlc though (carpets. squeeky floorboards etc.) but honestly, it's the third time i have stayed here and would come back again.

Noise was a concern”
It was only 10C outdoors but I needed to sleep with the window open. Much to my surprise, I was lulled to sleep by the train station outside. I’m usually super sensitive to noise so would caution people still
