Very clean hostel at strategic location”
Very clean and comfortable room with 2 double decker and a sofa bed. Kitchen, washing machines and dryers are available at common area. Nearest subway station is within minutes of waking distance.

Very clean and decent place even with young kids”
I had 3 kids, 6,3,1 year old. And I had no problem with this place at all. It so clean and convenient. The place is really clean, the station is near by except for the station to airport is like 8 mins walk. But there is 2 family mart and Lawson just opposite. For this price what else can we ask for!

Spacious Hotel”
Was surprised at the size of our room. We have 3 open luggages, and still had enough space to walk around. CR also had a modern toilet and a bathtub. Very good location, near a number of train stations. Good walking distance from Ameyoko Shopping Street, and a Parco mall. Very peaceful neighborhood. Kind and accomodating staff. We will definitely be back!!

Stayed here from Feb 9 - 15, we checked in very late but the staff waited for us until we arrived. Very professional staff and great location. 10-15 mins walk to JR and Keisei line to visit the whole Tokyo.

The hostel is close to everywhere. It's walking distance to two stations, shopping malls, and many restos. It's also a 15-20 minute walk to Akihabara. Don't expect too much from their facilities but their rooms are clean.

Highly recommended ”
I will consider to stay here again if I’m going Tokyo next time. Prefer ueno compared to shinjuku as I’m travelling with young kids. Especially if you are taking train from airport, no need to change station. Also, it so much lesser crowd and easily to find the place. Train station with lift access is super close to the hostel and family mart is just nearby. Nevertheless, the hostel is very clean with common area which you could settle simple breakfast or supper.

Close to Ueno Park with its national museums, the Ueno zoo (pandas), subway, JR lines. Fantastic location. Close to department store and alley way shopping, plenty of restaurants and mini-marts close by. Beds are firm.

This hostel is comparable to any 3-star hotel in Asia. The hostel is spotless. The room is tiny but just enough for a family of 4 to roam around and just sleep at night. Will definitely come back when in Ueno area.

Location Superb and helpful staff”
We really enjoy our stay at tokyo UY Hostel. Staff was really helpful and friendly. Location is superb, near 3 subway and 1 JR Station. There is a lounge at 7th floor for relax or having meal. Hostel room was a little bit dusty in a few spot, but it was because this hostel is already an old hostel but They will renovated it in November 2018. I believe this hostel will become a greater place after renovated.

Tokyo Ueno Youth Hostel was very near to metro Yushima station. 10 mins walking distance to other metro or JR station like Naka-Okamachi & Okamachi station. It was near to Ameyoko & gyomu super within a 6 mins walking distance. The room was spacious, we are able to open 3 luggage in the same time. The bathroom was slightly small but it was fine. Body wash and hair shampoo was provided. Room was slightly dusty but overall cleanliness was good. Although they will not clean your room everyday but they will clean the dustbin in room everyday. Coin Laundry and dryer provided at the rooftop, detergent was free. There was a laundry space to dry your clothes too. Lounge is at 7th floor, with microwave, refrigerator, TV, water and some free miso soup. I would say the hostel is value for money, I will recommend to those that look for private room with ensuite bathroom. Would like to stay again if I going to visit Tokyo in future.

Location! Location! Location!”
This hostel is in a great location in Tokyo as it is five minutes away by foot from Ueno Park and about 15 from Akihabara, and about 2 minutes away from Amekayo market. The rooms are a decent size for Tokyo and each has a private bathroom with a bathtub and shower, something most hostels don't offer. On the 7th floor there is a cozy lounge with a fridge, microwave oven and hot water for use. You can also sit at low tables on a tatami level to eat or watch tv. The rooms could use a paint job and the beds maybe could be upgraded. I was put off by the insistence of the hostel to guests to use the elevator and not the stairs (only in an emergency) as the hostel property starts from the 4th floor up, the reason being that the lower levels were not the property of the hostel. There was even a huge screen rolled down blocking the fourth floor stairs to the 3rd floor, but it was easy to slip passed the screen as I did not want to use that old, small, scary elevator!
