The ladies’ dorm was clean and well-maintained. I like that there is an automatic lights-dimming in place after a certain time that. Good for those who wish to rest earlier. The toilet was clean, but I really wish there’s a more powerful hairdryer. The current ones are really weak and takes forever to get through. Staff were friendly and pleasant! Thank you.

Loved Unplan Shinjuku!!”

It's super clean, near two stations, 7eleven is in front. Beds are comfy, shower room and washroom are super clean. Great terrace on rooftop and the bar/restaurant at the basement too. Breakfast was simple but good. Really enjoyed our stay ! Thanks to the helpful and friendly staff I'll definitely come back !

Fantastic hostel lovely cabins with enough space for bags. Doesn't feel like a hostel at all. Staff were lovely facilities were great breakfast could have been better beyond just toast and eggs. Location is not really in Shinjuku. It's a good 20 minute walk to Shinjuku station with not much going on around the hostel

Far from subway and new hostel”

I booked mix dormitory room for 2 bed. Facility is new and good enough. Self check in, check out. They set up an ipad at front desk counter for guest. In room they set up ipod for guest using, if you going out can take ipod and using 4g but only 30’ free of charge . After 30’ have to pay. Receptionist not only japanese people so english speaking very good. Common room enough for cooking and making some cup of noodles. Laundry room use coin same everywhere but cost little bit higher than other hostel . Bathroom not clean: because of public area and staff not usually clean and pick up trash . Someone use hair dryer and their hair full of sink but no one clean. Basement floor is breakfast room, at night time basement floor is bar. Hostel is opposite with 7-11 shop, easy to buy some food and drinks! All most guest is western guys!

Nice beds but bad vibes”

I stayed in the female dorm and it was super crowded with random stuff and clothes. Room reminded more of a backstage room during a fashion show than of a dorm. One of the staff was really nice. But all the others ... Rude and unfriendly. E.g. one of the common rooms closes at 10pm. Staff came in and said "we close this room now" and we started packing up our stuff - but she turned of the light 10sec after the warning not even giving us the chance to leave...

There’s a foreigner tourist ( from France ) did not wear mask and cough around the lounge and kitchen areas I reported it to the hostel’s manager and it seems like she does not cares about the safety concerns considering this is the global pandemic.

I was here for a week in early December. Walking distance to some decent nightlife spots in Shinjuku (e.g., Golden Gai is about a 6-minute walk). Rooms and facilities kept quite clean. Common area was buzzing most of the time, sometimes it was very loud but the noise doesn't carry over into the rooms. I met great people here as a 30 y/o solo traveler, though I definitely felt a bit on the "old" side at times. Small grievances: capsule-style bunks/pods are on the small side; occasionally the keypad for entering the dorm room wouldn't work for a few minutes, which can be frustrating; locker built into pod is very small (could just barely fit 13.3" laptop; had to tilt it on its side); not enough storage space for luggage; shoes can be worn indoors except in the shower room; on three occasions the shower water turned lukewarm for several minutes mid-shower before heating back up to a comfortable temperature; on-site restaurant appears to only offer meat-based dishes.

New and Clean Dormitory ”

It’s a new dormitory with super easy and fast check in and check out process. The dorms are very clean and with very good security. Common area is quite spacious with kitchen provided. Receptionists can all speak really good English so you do not have to worry on this. You will have to key in passcode everytime before you entering the dorms. It’s surrounded by quite a number of convenient shops. However, it’s not very near to the main happening area of Shinjuku. 10 minutes walk is needed. But overall I am really satisfied with the stay here.

Good hostel, but a little overpriced. ”

Everything was clean and accessible, but for the same amount of money, I could've stayed at a cheap business hotel with a private room and bathroom. It was a little ways away from any metro station and about a 15 minute walk away from Shinjuku station.

Super clean and convenient amenities ”

I have booked for a twin bed room for 2. The room is exactly what shown in photos. The room is quite small but enough for 2 staying. The whole building access works with code without keys. Very convenient and smart! All amenities are super clean. Liked the roof top. Couldn’t be better with the value.

Best hostel I ever stayed at!”

Super friendly and helpful staff, very nice rooms and clean rooms and bathrooms. Loved the sleeping Boxers, that still give you some privacy! Location is very convenient and the free breakfast was really great! Best place to stay in Tokyo!!!

Good value and good privacy”

I stayed at UNPLAN Shinjuku for one week, and enjoyed my stay. It's much better than most other hostels because the design of the beds is similar to a capsule hotel, but each contains a small safe! The breakfasts are great and a very social environment. The staff provide a very Western-style service, so don't expect a traditional Japanese style service when interacting with staff. The walk from Shinjuku station is about 10-15 minutes, but you can use the entrance to the Shinjuku-sanchōme (S-2) subway station as an undercover shortcut to Shinjuku station. My only issues were: - The pillows provided are very lumpy and uncomfortable. - The safes were too small to fit a laptop. - While the bed capsules were great, they could not stop the sound of snoring, which made it very difficult to sleep most nights. Bring ear plugs!

Very nice, newer hostel with cool rooftop. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very basic. Free drink ticket was a bonus. Hostel puts on many events throughout the week. Private double had everything we needed and was comfy, though a fridge would have been nice! Balcony was cool too. Recommend they add some soundproofing to the doors as we could hear everything in the hallway. Highly recommend!

Amazingly new, super clean with the loveliest international staff”

It was like staying at the W hotel minus the price tag, super clean and comfortable, they even give you a welcome cocktail, includes breakfast, although basic, it is great for coffee first thing in the morning! Highly recommended if you're on a budget but are after something comfy and clean and super modern!

Don’t look any further ”

Incredible staff, well thought out design and facilities, and free use of a smartphone! No need to buy a SIM card. Very generous amenity! The hostel is new so it’s clean and well maintained. It’s a solid 15 min walk from the Shinjuku station but easy to find and in a little local neighbourhood with plenty of convenience stores. Oh and the free smartphone is all set up in your bed so you just take it and go. No lengthy sign up/sign out. Incredible place that’s has thought through all the details.

Great hostel in Shinjuku”

The perfect place to have an easy landing in this amazing and dazzling city. Great staff, great location, great bar at the hostel. I loved it. It is a bit expensive, but I believe it is worth it.
