Above and beyond. Great place, excellent staff”
I stayed here a year ago when it was still called Vina Hue. It was really good. This time I came back and found it with a new name, upgraded facilities, an even better staff and more excellent services/service attitudes. The place might have changed hands and now is under a completely new owner/managerment. That is such a welcoming change. I guess the greatest assess of this hotel, as I experienced it during my stay, is the hotel staff, from the bellboys to the receptionists/concierge to the restaurant team. They all speak very good English and eager to lend assistance. This is especially good for the Engish speaking guests who need a lot of information; which seemed to be the overwhelming majority while I was there. A few minor minuses: the bathroom door in my room is old and it would not shut. The lighting in the bathroom to dim. The bathroom itself could use some upgrade to be on par with other things in the hotel. In overrall, I still grade this hotel excellent compared to other hotels of the same class in Hue and in other parts of Vietnam. A Note to the hotell staff: keep up the good work, your efforts are duly noted and appreciated. I will definitely book my stay at Serene Shining hotel the next time I am in Hue.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Serene Shining Hotel, the staff were the friendliest, most polite & helpful we came across while staying in Vietnam, we booked an executive river view room, this was a good size, comfortable bed & pillows, tea/coffee making facilities, good choice of toiletries & free wifi in rooms. Breakfast was made to order, western & Vietnamese choices, you were encouraged to eat as much as you liked, the girls in the restaurant were lovely, always smiling. My husband & I booked a massage in the spa, this was such good value for money, an hour long massage cost less than £10 each, the girl as in the spa were so sweet. I would definitely recommend staying at the Serene if going to Hue, it's a great value for money hotel.

Easy choice - stay here”
I actually booked the Serene Shining Hotel since it was so well rated on Agoda. I see why that is. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, the hotel rooms were comfortable and clean, and the location was pretty good too. And it's a great value for money. I arrived late in the evening without a plan for the next day, and the front staff helped get me set up for a motorbike tour of the surrounding sites (and for a reasonable price, $18). I kind of went in this expecting to somehow get ripped off (hearing horror stories from friends' trip to the area) but instead had a great time. If I'm in Hue again, I will definitely stay here again. Also would definitely recommend to other female solo travelers who are uncertain about a place to stay (it's always hard to pick with the dozens of choices). They'll get you set up for a great time here!

Absolute Gem of A Hotel”
Serene Shining hotel is located in an alley and not easily spotted but it is rated highly in Hue and I can totally understand why. The staff are excellent, the value even more so. The room is clean and tidy and breakfast is good. It is quiet and you can get a good night's rest but its drawback is that it is not located close to any attractions. There is however a café that is just outside (Share Café) which offer wonderful drinks and very reasonable prices, as is everything in Hue and Vietnam on a whole. Highly recommended!

Service Excellence”
Like many, we too had a fantastic stay with all the wonderful people in Serene Shining. Hieu, Lee, Yuan, Trang, and other staff made our stay memorable. Cold towels and drinks every time we returned from a hot and tiring day. Changing room for us when the A/C didn't work. They even apologize for the flood prevention work done by the local government along the alley leading to the hotel, which they didn't have to but we appreciated. We were also happy this hotel has its own generator when the power supply in the entire area both sides of the river went out for 30 minutes around midnight. We would definitely return to Serene Shining if and when we return to Hue in the future.

A great value for the money”
Serene Shining Hotel has the nicest staff! They are friendly, attentive, and warm. The rooms are just ok - nothing fancy, but they're clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast was great and you can eat as much as you want. Location wise, it's down an alley so it's away from all the noise of downtown Hue. Our room was very quiet. Further down the alley is a great coffee shop located along side the river. It's a great place to relax. I will definitely stay here again for my next trip to Hue.

Excellent service”
Staff were very friendly and courteous. It rained the whole day in hue but the staff were always reminding us to bring our poncho or umbrella. We did not have one and they lent us one for the day. When we returned and was checking out to leave, staff gave us plastic bags to keep our wet shoes without us asking. This simple gesture touched us and we stongly reccomend others to stay in this place. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Toilet was clean as well. It was a pity we could not book an appointment with the serene spa as it was fully booked. Will definitely try it when we are back. Thank you serene shining for making our stay a memorable one.

The Serene Shining hotel is in a great location with good access to all the important sites and has the great virtue of being on a quiet side street away from the loud traffic noise common in many cities in Vietnam and a street which also offers some nice quiet bars and cafes. The staff at the Serene Shining hotel are fabulous and will do they're absolute best to ensure you enjoy your time there. As a case in point I mistakenly left my iPad charger and power adaptor in the room and an hour after I had checked out they rang me to inform me of this and also ask me for my new hotel and room details so they could send it to me and I had it back two days later. Do stay at the Serene Shining Hotel as youll certainly not be disappointed.

One of our best hotels...”
Me and my boyfriend had been travelling around 7months by the time we got to Hue back at beginning of June. I can say it was and still is, one of our favourite hotels. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were just brilliant - so friendly and kind. Always welcoming and interested in your day. The breakfast was delicious and they sent us off with extras for the bus journey! I left some clothes in the wardrobe doh!! I rang them and they sent them to my hotel in Hoi An the same day with a bus driver at no cost! We felt it was a good location...close enough to busy streets of bars/restaurants but far enough away that we didn't have any issues at all with noise. We would definitely stay again! Exceptional”
Tucked away down a side street, the Serene Shining Hotel is wonderfully quiet despite being near a coffee shop and some kind of club. Very good breakfasts with excellent phö, attached spa offering refreshing massages, much needed when we visited as Hue hit by unexpected extra monsoon conditions in December '16

Super helpful staff”
Serene Shining Hotel Locate down a short alley off the main road the hotel is in a nice quiet location yet close to walk to the riverfront, the ancient city and plenty of restaurants - including the excellent restaurant (tope TripAdvisor ratings) in the sister hotel 200m away., The hotel itself is well equipped and everything works well. Breakfast was superb with a great selection of fruit, bread, eggs, pancakes and real fruit juices. Best of all was the staff. Every single one was polite, extremely helpful and dying to practice their English with us, which most spoke to a high standard. As our taxi arrived bell boys arrived and whisked our bags to our room and while our passports were being copied we were presented with a fruit juice and a small plate of fruit. Maps and advice were eagerly volunteered and the day we left they looked after our bags after checkout and when we returned to use the wifi in the lobby they even brought us a cup of tea.

over expecting Service and hospitality”
We stayed 4 nights there and had a lot of rain in hue during our time there. So spent a lot of time in the room. We had a nice, clean and big room with a river view. we got a upgrade after the first night because the first room we got was very old and run downed and the second one we moved into had a lot of wet mould on the wall next to our bed. All other rooms were full booked. But next day we could move and were very happy withit then. They were so sorry about that they not just gave us a bigger room than booked. They also gave us one night for free as a complimentary for the bad rooms at first night. What a professionel and great service! Breakfast was lovely and the staff great. The spa treatments are really good too and the restaurant from the other serene hotel near by delicious for a good price. You should definitly stay here. But make sure you get one of the new and renovated rooms.

We had a short 1 day stopover at Hue so after a thorough research with my friend, we decided to go ahead with this one. We were looking for a river view room with some budget constraints, and this seemed to fit in just fine. We booked 2 separate rooms - 1 executive room & 1 premier double room. We were traveling from Da Nang to Hue by train and we reached the hotel at around 4 PM. The staff welcomed us with bright smiles on their faces and some welcome drinks (Juice). One of them took the time to gather us around and explained all the places where we could hit with a guided route map. The check in process was really smooth. took us hardly minutes. The rooms were even better. The premier room had 2 sets of TVs with separate living area. Both the rooms had bathtubs. Rooms were neat & clean and had a decent view of the river. Though if you really want to feel the river. Coming to checkout- It was perfect. They even arranged a car to transfer us to Hue airport for a nominal fee.

we booked two nights in the serene shining hotel and it was really nice. the room is comfortable, clean and big, with everything you need: air condition, tv, minibar, safe etc. the spa and a really good restaurant are in the same building. they even organised a motorbike tour to hoi an for us, taking the luggage to the next hotel. the staff is really friendly and helpful. the hotel is located in a small side street, but that is really ok beceause its really calm during the night. we really recommend this place for 2-3 nights.

We definitely enjoyed our stay in serene shining. The room was bigger and the breakfast more extensive and tastier than at other hotels we stayed in Vietnam. In addition, the friendly staff helped us out by recommending places to visit in hue and renting out motorcycles on which we drove to Hoi An. Worth a visit!

Helpful and Friendly Staff, Good Breakfast, Comfortable and Clean Room”
Although the hotel is secluded in an inner rood, it is still within walking distance to the Hue walking street. Around 8 minutes walk to the walking streets, and 15 mins walk to the river night market. Souvenirs in Hue river night market are way more cheaper than in Hoi An and Da Nang city. It is a must go in your list. You can also sample lots of local vietnamese delight along the night market. Buffet style Breakfast where you can have as much of fresh fruits and fresh fruits as you like, plus some local delights like pho and fried rice which you can select from the menu. So far this is the best breakfast selection we had in Vietnam. Very friendly and helpful staff. Thumbs up for Mr. Lee who explained to us the nearby attractions of Hue and also arranging transportation for us.

Amazing and full of surprises”
Stepping into the hotel, I was already offered a plate of fruits (with mango, dragon fruits, watermelon and passion fruits) and a glass of orange juice. I was surprised. I was upgraded into the deluxe room although I only booked the superior double. It was spacious (with living room), clean and nice. The staffs are great. Friendly and helpful. Guided me to all the places I wanted to visit with the map. I had no trouble travelling in Hue. The bike rental was cheap too. They even helped to book a train ticket back to Danang, saved me all the troubles. The breakfast was FANTASTIC. You could keep ordering and the food was good. After days of local food, my boyfriend and I were craving for some Western kind of breakfast and the hotel did not disappoint us. The breakfast set with ham, sausage, bacon and egg was great. In addition, we ordered pancakes and dumplings too. My favorite was the fried dumpling, it was so good that I actually ate four of them. Everything was awesome. Definitely will come back again during my next visit to Hue.

When I return to Hue I'll definitely stay at Serene Shining. It's hard to describe such a nice place, so I'll just recommend it as the best hotel I've stayed at. I think it's mainly because of the friendly and helpful staff, though everything else was remarkably good.

Wonderful along the river in Hue”
Our stay at Serene Shining Hotel was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast is plentiful with lots of options, and the rooms are clean and spacious. We also took advantage of the spa by getting a hot stone massage. Not only was the massage exactly what we wanted, it was 30% off. We would absolutely stay here again!
