Staff was excellent”
We had a wonderful stay here. The hotel itself is beautiful, although definitely showing its age. The rooms and finishes have some wear and tear, but it is still all very clean and tidy. The staff was incredible, start to finish, and the reason we would come back to stay. I made a mistake in our booking and accidentally booked the hotel for one night later than when we showed up. They were incredibly accommodating in still honoring our reservation and even upgraded us to a much nicer room than what we had originally booked. We also took advantage of the sand bath facility at the hotel. This was very easy to book and they led us step by step through the process since we'd never done a sand bath before. The view from the room was also beautiful, overlooking the ocean. Gorgeous!

Dated, Over Priced, Nice View”
The Good: - Great view perched up on a hill overlooking the sea. - Friendly staff. - Food was decent. The Bad: - Not worth the price. - Building and decor is very dated, bad smell in the room as well. - Swimming pool was closed in mid-September because it was "too cold", despite it being in the southern most part of Japan and temps well into the mid-80s at that time. - Not on the beach.

Good black sand bath”
There is a bus to the hotel, but since we arrive early, we took a 5 mins taxi ride that cost 1020 yen to the hotel. Free shuttle bus from hotel on the way back to station the next morning. Experience the one time black sand bath for the first time which is inside the hotel (free for hotel staying guest). Nothing surrounding but can take public bus to the beach for out door sand bath. We checked with the reception staff and he give us direction to a big shopping centre which is about 10-15mins walk. took our late lunch and after shopping, head back to hotel for dinner and onsen. recommended)

Better than we anticipated at first arrival at the hotel. ”
Nice and quiet Japanese style room overlooking the sea front, with a view of passing train, too far to be noisy although schedule not frequent. Dinner is delicious and staff explain each item and how to eat it. Breakfast is buffet style. We were allocated to have meals with a small local tour group. The arrangement is fine. Hot sand bath is a plus. Accessability for train users not so convenient.

The breakfast and dinner are good but the facilities are outdated. The sand bath service only provide with charges as well as the onsen. Not a bad hotel but I guess there’s better hotel ard that area.

Old, and out dated”
We went to Ibusuki Phoenix hotel, the presentation on the website is nice, but when you enter your room your greeted with a outdated hotel. The Room had a outdated feel to it when the sinks and bathtub were pink and carpet looks like it was form the 90s. When we first entered the room we noticed there was a few visitors, not the good ones... it was cockroaches in the hallway of the basement where they charge premium for these "onsen" rooms. We inspected the room there was no bugs in sight, during the first night but on the second day there was a HUGE one in the room. My Fiancé freak out and we check out shorting our stay in Ibusuki Pheonic hotel by one night. The Hotel also has a Pool which has a lot of bugs and the entrance from our room was not mowed so the grass was high to the pool. If they updated this property and took care of it, it could have a lot of potential but as of today , We will never be back. The staff are only thing positive of the hotel but other than that stay away!

指宿という土地がそうさせるのか。高台にあるこのホテルは、オーシャンビューが素敵です。一日中眺められます。 ホテル内にはプールや卓球、砂蒸し温泉などもあって、かなりのんびりと過ごすことができる場所だなあと思います。 施設はやや古めながら、それを承知で利用できると、落ち着いたロビーやスタッフの方の丁寧な対応でのんびりと過ごすことができると思います。 指宿に宿泊する際にはまた止まってみたいと思いました。

昔ながらのリゾートホテルですが”
部屋は和室しかありませんが、8畳の部屋を1人ずつ使えましたのでとてもゆったりできました。内装はちょっと古びてありましたが、きれいに清掃されていたので然程気になりませんでした。部屋からの羨望は素晴らしく錦江湾を存分に堪能できました。 コスパも良くまた泊まってみたいホテルです。

バイクでのツーリングで利用しました。老舗といった感じ、設備的には少し古さを感じましたが良いホテルです。バイク用にわざわざ屋根付きの駐車スペースを用意してもらえました。スタッフの方も親切に対応していただけました。温泉も気持ちよかったです。 ありがとうございました。

昭和感が感じられるホテル”
Wi-Fiが使えないフロアもありますのでフロントで希望を伝えた方が良い人もいるでしょう。海が見えてロケーションは良いのですが、少し昭和のバブル期に作られた印象を受けます。ウェルカムドリンクもあり、サービスはよい。砂風呂が別料金なのは少しがっかりでした。

フロントの対応は良かった。 砂風呂もう少し長く入っていたかった。顔のパック、塗っただけのようなきがした。 風呂場が広くて寒かった💦 そうじはいきとどていたように思います。
