SONESTA DOES IT RIGHT!!”

Finally a hotel in San Juan that knows how to treat it’s guests. Formally the intercontinental, now Sonesta is beautiful. Years of dealing with all the BS at the EL SAN JUAN I’m glad to have tried to SONESTA. Well staffed, world trade and professional people really make everyone feel special. Large beautiful rooms fully renovated. Eimy at front desk, William at bell desk & Antonio are what make this hotel special. Knew my sons name, told him where to go fishing, and took a special interest in us. Will most definitely come back to this wonderful hotel.

Best Hotel in San Juan”

Sonesta has everything would want from a resort hotel. Fully renovated, beautiful rooms, staff is wonderful, easy to get lounge chairs, all rooms have balcony, refrigerators. What truly separates The Sonesta is the staff, which is a notch above. Check-in was a breeze with Salvatore, who greeted us with a smile. Travelling with a small child and this was best choice for families. Very glad did not stay at the El San Juan Hotel next door. Sonesta is on the rise. Will be back.

Isla Verde”

Royal Sonesta is a beautiful property that I would recommend to others. Pricey for food and drinks so we went elsewhere, but resort was excellent for us and would stay here again.

Just minutes away from a lot of places. Uber was cheap to use! Clean hotel, staff was great! I would definitely book with Royal again my next vacation back to San Juan!

The Royal Sonesta, however, added to the restrictions. I felt like an hostage in my own room. I could not smoke, on my balcony or anywhere on grounds after 12. They didnt take into the consideration the simplest of things. Majority of the people there were on spring break, probably my age (38) and much younger. They had nothing to distract us or to make us feel at ease. Most of the staff were fine; however the security staff and the front desk personnel were not that welcoming to me; i felt like i was in booth camp all over again. It made me question a lot but as you will see by my ratings, its a beautiful well kept place.

Nice place but for the amount you spend you don’t get a lot. Plus we had no fridge no breakfast. Housekeeping doesn’t clean your room.

Staff”

My son had an activity at the hotel, he suffered an accident in the hotel facilities with a moldy screw that caused a cut and the treatment in that situation was fatal

Waiting on refund”

Unfortunately I was in a car accident on my way to the airport and when I contacted the agency I used to notify of my issue, they got in contact with the hotel to refund me the funds but I’m still waiting to hear back from the hotel manager in regards to the approval. It was truly never my intention to cancel and I’m hoping I can visit one day but right now those funds being held up is really affecting my financial situation as I desperately need them to fix my car until my insurance approves the claim.

Great for location, not for amenities”

location was wonderful: close to the cruise port, many restaurants, perfect place to stay to experience the culture of old san juan. rooms are definitely not the best available. none of the windows open up for you to get fresh air. our room smelled musty, damp, and dusty, so we had to ask a maid to vacuum the entire room prior to our stay. this is not a hotel you would want to stay at if you like having many hotel amenities or more modern rooms.

Great Location”

this hotel has a great location on the beach and on isla verde. however, our room that costs us more than a night had no refrigerator/bar and no plama tv. the bed was comfortable and the sheets were very clean. the restroom was kind of small and poorly equiped for a hotel of this status. we arrived at the hotel at 10pm but the hotel personnel was very friendly and very helpful at the reception, that includes the vallet parking and the personnel at the front desk.

a huge disappointment”

What a tired, dull and poor value hotel, at a 5 star price. Everything was in need of a revamp, especially the rooms and bathrooms. I can barely remember such a let down in today's competitive environment. Dreadful service and a very average breakfast. My friend and I had booked a junior suite but on arrival there was no twin bed option so we had to downgrade to a 'top quality ocean view' room instead of a suite.

Атлантический океан напротив отеля грязный, с сильными волнами, ног не видно, купаться некомфортно. Но это свойство похоже всего берега у Сан-Хуана, или нам так не повезло. В номере все есть как и должно быть у пятизвездочника, однако на простыни есть дырки. Заселение только после 16 часов! Близко к аэропорту, так что на стороне не к морю, как мы и жили, слышно шум взлета-посадки самолетов. Бассейн глубиной 1,1 метра, так что не поплаваешь. Япоснкий ресторан чуть ближе к центру за супермаркетом на другой стороне улице - просто супер!
