Best holiday ever ! ”
For me ,Isla hayahay is like the best hidden gem so far ,first of all ,the whole resort is clean and neat ,it has everything you need ,bar ,onsite restaurant ,swimming pool etc ,service there is marvelous ,too many staffs and just two of us during our whole stay !pangangan island is also a gem in Bohol ,no tourist at all ,that’s our favorite spot ! Sea view there is amazing ! I would strongly recommend this resort ! Without any doubt ,if I got another cheap air ticket to Cebu ,I will come here have another vacation !oh ,by the way ,food there is also tasty ,try the crab !!!

A little Paradise”
This was the second time we stayed at Isla Hayahay, and it just keeps getting better! The resort is right at a peaceful and quiet beach. The rooms are big and clean, and everybody is just so very kind and helpful. The food at their restaurant is excellent, with big meals. We love the variety they have, and the prices are very reasonable! Their breakfasts are sumptuous, with plenty to chose from! The property is big, with enough space to walk around, and in their pool, from where you can see the sea, as well as the Bohol coast line, you can enjoy a good swim. We will definitely come back again, D.V!

Everything is perfect!!”
This was our third stay at Isla Hayahay, and we are just as thrilled as when we discovered this beautiful place the first time! Everything is perfect at this place: the management and the staff are very kind, friendly and helpful; the food is superior; the location is great, right by the sea (with very clear and calm waters); the pool is very clean, and the rooms are spacious and well kept! We will definitely be back again!

Great place to enjoy a quiet stay”
We took the whole family here for a weekend. It is far from other busy areas and a great place to stay. Grounds are beautiful. Pool is amazing with a slide for the kids and a view of the sea. Bar and restaurant were both good. Staff is friendly & attentive. Management made a point to introduce themselves and make sure we were enjoying our stay. Prices are very reasonable for an ocean front resort. We will definitely stay here again

Heaven”
It's out of the way, it's quiet as can be, and it is probably one of the most relaxing places I've ever been. Activities can be arranged, along with transport to and from the resort. There aren't a ton of food options around, but the chef is SO talented, there's no reason to go elsewhere. The ONLY suggestion I might make is for there to be a book exchange rack. Otherwise, this was paradise and I want to go back ASAP!

After the mayhem of other Philippine resort towns this area is quiet and calm. The inn is superb. The owners and staff are first rate, as is the kitchen. The owner went above and beyond to accommodate us.

Magical Secluded Location”
Brilliant place that is a little bit stuck in time - very clean, lovely staff, right on its own reef with drop off - fabulous snorkelling directly off the end of the resort! Food is all homemade and really great - surely the best Indian curries in the Philippines! Value for money, it's amazing, but it is dated and feels a little bit stuck in a timewarp. Go there for the secluded location, the great homemade food, the lovely staff and the reef - not to pretend you're a footballer's wife. Honestly couldn't recommend enough.

We really like this place and it is our place of choice in the Philippines. The journey from the airport is nearly 2 hours, but it is worth it, as there are not so many turists around, and you have all you need in the resort.

Great for a couples getaway”
Probably best for couples looking to get away from it all and chill. The location is remote approx 90 mins from tagbilaran airport. The title of beach resort and restaurant is slightly misleading as the beach is non existent, it us pretty much a rocky coast there but ideal for diving and the food in the restaurant is simply amazing. The staff are helpful and friendly the pool is nice and the views are spectacular the wifi is a bit hit and miss.

A wonderful time”
I wish we could have stayed longer, I booked as last minute getaway for our family and isla hayahay was exactly what I could have dreamed of. Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our room which was clean and quite large. The place is So quiet and peaceful with some of the nicest staff I've seen and they were great with our small kids. We snorkeled and swam just off the private small beach and also visited another close by island. The food here is amazing to say the least its not fast food pricing but wow it's worth it. I read some of the recent reviews but I think a lot of it was of the guests own doing. If you want a party place this isn't it but if you want a peaceful resort come here. We still had wifi which was good enough. Tv's were in right spot not sure if changed? No power issues (but I'm told by staff that the government recently upgraded main supply to bohol). Insects and Mosquitos were same as anywhere else but the staff did offer off lotion just in case. Transfer from the port was easy as was arranging our island hopping. I will be back especially hearing about some of the future plans here it will be even better. It's a real scenic paradise with old fashioned Philippino hospitality. Wish I could have stayed a week!

Very nice service in a lovely location. ”
we just wanted to relax and do nothing in a lovely setting. isla hayahay was perfect for that. the rooms were clean and airy, but their duplex bungalow style made us feel a bit exposed to other guests. roosters started to crow from very early and occasionally there was karaoke drifting over from another resort, but all in all it was very peaceful. their little beach and garden are pretty. we should have taken the guided snorkeling instead of being on our own because we got stung by jellyfish. some other guests stepped on sea urchins. however, the staff helped to treat these with some traditional philippines remedies--vinegar. (well, the real treatment was urine, but no one i know tried that) the guides, drivers and staff were very accommodating and we felt very relaxed.

Exceptional”
Overall we had a wonderful stay at Islay Hayahay. It's an incredible, off-the-beaten track location, gorgeous waterfront, and there were plenty of activities. The food was also good and freshly prepared and we enjoyed drinks at the bar and on our porch. We loved walking through the village as well, everyone was so friendly! The countryside tour with Abner was also a highlight. I'm removing one star for staff as the managers directed us to a ticket counter in town that not only wouldn't sell us ferry tickets in advance given the season, but didn't even sell the right route we were looking for. Some of the local staff members ended up helping us arrange the correct transfer, but only after we'd rearranged our sightseeing schedule to make the trip all the way to the town ticket counter and back empty-handed. This is essential information for guests that they should have had on-hand. A few suggestions for facilities: open access for clean pool/beach towels, and for the price it would be nice to have a fridge and toiletries beyond soap/shampoo in the room. I do know the managers are working to improve the property and they have already perked it up with fresh paint. Highly recommend if you are in Bohol and looking for a quiet, relaxing stay with good access to activities.

Only for short stay.”
It was a short stop for me on my way from Tagbilaran to Tubigon and back to Cebu, this place is for short term stay only, I guess I will never return there anymore just because there is nothing special to see especially if you was at Panglao Island before. Hotel was refurbished after earthquake in 2013 - the walls of my room had still visible cracks even under new paint. In room I had very short bed - it is definitely Asian size bed - if you are 185cm tall the beds will be short for you. I was laughing a lot because almost on every wall, door, even in the shower you will see so many warnings cautions and prohibitions that you can feel like in a kindergarten... I have to say I never saw something like that before... The hotel is quite pricey - hotel transportation is very expensive, prices of meals are so so, but portions are rather small, hotel is providing soft drinks for "free", but water from big plastic tanks had strange plastic smell so I was buying my own water in Calape town. If you want to get for some reason to this hotel you can travel easy or from Tagbilaran bus station or from Tubigon by bus to Calape town, there is a lot of buses everyday in both directions or you can use also local vans - but there is always a lot of passangers inside a very little room for legs. You will travel for couple of pesos not for thousands :) From Calape you will get to the hotel by trike - it is usually more expensive than bus from Tagbilaran ;) There is mangrove forest around coast so be prepared for thousands of mosquitoes. They were renting there motorbike during my stay, but technical quality of brakes and tyres were not good (hope they fixed it already) so be careful if you will rent it...

Excellent resort for a quiet relaxing stay”
this resort hotel is in an isolated position on a small island but that is a plus if what you want is relaxation and quiet surroundings. the rooms are large and of a very high standard. the resort facilities give peaceful rest or reading areas, dvd tv area, free unlimited, help yourself, tea or coffee at any time (and brewed coffee at that). a big plus in the land of 3 in 1 nescafe! there is a small beach area, not really suitable for sunbathing but you can swim out on the right tide or use their water craft, kayaks, snorkel, etc. it is not really possible to dine outside the resort but there is no need. the menu is very good, food of a high standard and prices very reasonable. the management and staff are all very helpful and friendly. i highly recommend this resort.

Quietly located for a piece of mind”
This resort is located in a quiet location. There is no amenities like convenience stores around. However, it suits best for people living in the city seeking for a quiet place to rest. The resort itself has almost everything that a tourist would be looking for. It has their own tour packages, bike and car rental, restaurant, laundry services, water sports equipment and a bar. Room is very spacious and clean, the bathroom is exceptionally big. We had a couple of meals in the resort, the food is tasty and resonable priced. Would recommend to any one who is staying there to have a meal or 2.

Very Relaxing Spot”
Highly recommended place on Pangangan Island, over the causeway from Bohol Island proper. Clean, well maintained, comfy beds, good food, very nice staff, has pool with waterslide plus sea access, good views, decent wifi, kayak and snorkelling gear hire, Bohol tours arranged. They have eight bungalows, with a restaurant and small bar. I paid 250 pesos to get here by motor tricycle from Tubigon ferry port. Very friendly locals on the island, good to have a beer with at one of the small shops outside the gate. Also a pizza place just up the road. Other than that, Pangangan life is pretty laid back; not party central, but an excellent spot to recharge your batteries.

Relaxing in very quiet location near the beach”
Very nice and clean hotel just in front of the beach. The staff are all polite, accomodating, and very much helpful. There are many varieties of the food provided at the restaurant, I just stayed only 2 nights so could not try many but all the dishes I taken were very nice. If I get the chance to visit Bohol again, I would like to stay in this hotel.
