Didn't like the attitude of Japanese staff”

All of the other staffs were super kind and easy going, but I didn't like the Japanese staff's attitude, he was a little bit rude, it might be me and my friends were younger than him, but anyway, it was not that happy to be in that kind of situation. It looks like kind of American house, nice location to travel, but you need to pay for all of the things like towels, brushes, something like that. and the bath was not that clean.

The house is conveniently located in hase train station and famous landmarks and food stall.”

My only comment is that the place is like a house and can only accommodate few travelers. The toilet is limited too. I was lucky there are only few travelers during my stay, thus, i would still score iza a good one. I also like the warmth accommodation by their staffs.

Good but could be better!”

Overall, a very pleasant stay. We arrived around 1:30 and were able to check in to our room early. The woman who greeted us spoke good English and was very kawaii and Genki! We really felt welcomed by her and a man who worked there whose name was pronounced 'mah key'. They were both very welcoming and sweet. We paid 500 yen for dinner and 500 for breakfast per person and were quite happy with the food. The western breakfast was delicious and the dinner was a whole selection of little Portions, rice, salad, miso, some vegetable/meat soup and fried veggies. A nice change from the ramen we were used to eating :) I think what we wer disappointed with during our stay was the lack of interaction in the evening. Maybe it just wasn't busy season when we went but we expected the bar to be more like a bar (socializing, etc) but it seemed more like a guy made drinks in the corner of his living room if you asked him too. This turned out to be fine though since it meant you were able to relax in peace in the common room at night. This leads into the other potential downside of staying here: we stayed in the twin bunk bed room for two and it is literally no bigger than the bed itself. Very hard to relax or do anything but sleep in. Location: 15 min walk from great buddha, 5 min walk from one of the main temples. 25 minute walk from 'downtown' kamakura (shopping street) but can easily take tram

Excellent place, BIG recommendation”

The people are awesome, the house is beautiful, the food is yummy and the location is great. That's my experience in a nutshell. The beach is right down the street. There are temples right up the street. You can rent a bike and explore the town. You can eat yummy food at night (they make/sell dinner). It's a social atmosphere, so you can meet cool people. All sorts of good things.

Late Night Bar Plus Sleeping Place is Awkward Combination”

Pros: staff speaks good English, close to the beach and Giant Buddha, clean, fun bar/ common area. Cons: bar stays open to 11 pm, with loud pop music to 10:30 pm. The doors of sleeping area open onto the bar space, so you are unlikely to sleep before 11 pm.

Okay stay”

The staff, location and price were all okay. However, the rooms were so tiny it was comical. There was also only one toilet to be shared by the two double private rooms and the rest of the bar patrons which was inconvenient. This toilet was also the only space to wash your teeth etc. The hostel staff were nice and ensured that quiet time hours were kept which was great.

The food, people and location

It was very nice. The only concern we had was that music was played from 0800 to 2200. While we love music, it got to be a little annoying hearing music played all day long with no break in between. Would have been nice to have some quiet time. Otherwise the staff was very hospitable and great. The meals were excellent.
