Dormy Inn Akihabara Hot Spring
Akihabara,Akihabara - View on map
"Stay at Dormy Inn Akihabara was fantastic, the staff were well mannered and spoke good english and were very friendly and always willing to help out with any enquiries. The room was clean and tidy, with everything need, shower, bar fridge and free internet. The rooms are not very big but hey its Tokyo .. all rooms are small. If you like Akihabara (Electric Town) then this is the best hotel for you. It's located only 5 mins walk from the main train station (Akihabara - JR Line) and 20 meter away from the Tokyo Metro line. So you can get anywhere you need to go within minutes. One of the best features this hotel has its located on the top floor (9th floor) and that is the Male and Female Hotsprings, outdoor bath and Sauna. If you ever want to relax under stars in a hot spring in the middle of all the hussle and bussle that is Tokyo then this place is perfect for you. I will definately come back again no questions asked. I've stayed in luxury 5 star hotels all the way down to 2 star ones. I would say that Dormy Inn Akihabara sits well above average in terms of price, cleanliness and location out of 10 I would rank this hotel an 8 out of 10."

Myoujin-no-Yu Dormy Inn Premium Kanda, Akihabara Hot Spring

"This hotel's location is superb. It's literally right next to the no. 6 gate of the Kanda station, Ginza line, and its takes only a five minute walk from the hotel to get to Akihabara, and to the JR Kanda station. The staff was awesome, spoke English well, and was so friendly during my whole stay. I loved their breakfast and their spa. They also provide a complimentary glass of beer and a half bowl of ramen. The room was on the smaller side, and the price wasn't cheap but it was clean and the furniture in the room was sensibly arranged so that they maximized the use of every inch of the room. all in all this place scores 9.5 out of 10 for me :) "

Cotoha Hotel Okachimachi

"It is truly a good decision for me to book this hotel. Especially the sweet room. Highly recommendable especially for the first-time traveller to Japan. Very nice and friendly and very accommodating staffs. Clean and very artistic hotel. And the onsen experience was a great bonus. Walkable to Ueno Park and Ameyayokocho. The only downside is that it is a bit hard to find the location of the hotel. But overall, highly recommendable. Will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family who would travel to Japan."

Capsule Hotel Anshin Oyado Tokyo Akihabara

"If you want to stay in the middle of Akihabara but want to try something different, this is one place worth giving a try. Since I was only staying 1 night in Akihabara before going to Sapporo, I decided to look for a capsule hotel as the price of normal hotels were quite expensive. I also wanted to stay in Akihabara because I need to price hunt for some stuff. I was not expecting much from this place as I already know what it is like to stay in a capsule hotel. When I stayed there, I loved it. Pro's: - friendly and English-speaking staff - very organized, with lots of signage and instructional manuals - super clean shared toilets and nice smelling too! Plus, they are surprisingly spacious - free drinks! - food vendo, specially if coming in late and no time to look for restaurants outside. It is located in the "free area" where you can eat your own food and watch tv with other guests. There is also massage chair. - larger than usual capsules with pillow options Cons: - could be noisy"

First Cabin Akihabara Showa-dori
Akihabara,Akihabara - View on map
"I had a fantastic experience at First Cabin Akihabara Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and knew English enough to communicate without misunderstands. I took advantage of the sauna at least once a day, it was delightful! I thought the space in my cabin was all I needed for a short stay, and found it very cozy. I fell asleep nearly as soon as I hit the bed every night. Some tips for hotel guests that I picked up. There's a cart in the back of the floor with extra blankets, pillows, etc.. If you think the bed is too stiff, you can grab an extra fluffy blanket, and put it on your bed to use as an extra mattress. Just go straight to it at check-in time, because the items are snagged pretty quickly. Also, while the tv only has a few channels (all in Japanese) there is a ticket machine on each floor next to the soda machines that for 1,000 Yen, will let you purchase Video on Demand (VOD) on your tv. There were many English Language/Hollywood movies to choose from. It's also only blocks from Akihabara Station, and the shopping district. Easy to get to. Also, Akihabara Station is close to many other stops (only 2 stops away from Tokyo Station!) including Ueno Station which is where most of the airport trains stop off. There was great wi-fi service on every floor, and a comfy lounge with tables, and charging outlets. It's not a place to go for food (there was a microwave food vending machine), but there are many noodle places on the block, and everything you could ask for in the neighborhood including a Denny's, McDonald's, and a Burger King around the corner, if you came all the way to Japan to eat American food. I highly recommend this hotel for the solo, or very small group traveler."
