Magical ”
I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. It was a beautiful, serene atmosphere in the heart of a busy place. For most Western travellers used to a typical hostel or hotel they may find it a little unusual with a public bath but it was super clean, convenient and relaxing. There are some signs of wear and tear around the place but it’s not a big deal when you consider the overall experience of staying in a traditional Japanese Ryokan. Fyi the pillows were traditional Japanese too, so not full of feathers but beans. The natural light in my room was stunning, the mattress very comfortable and lots of space to chill. Wish I was back there now! And they have a wonderful and characterful cat who walks around the place. He’s very curious and friendly.

Fantastic Ryokan in the center of the town. Very peaceful place to stay that is very close to Gion Station, only 2 mins walk. Great and kind staffs with full services mind. The room with balcony is quite big for two pax. The public bath is small but clean. There are a private showers as well. The facilities was good selected and enough for all guests to use. I should stay longer. Strongly recommend to stay at this place. It is the best place for my trip in Fukuoka.

The cultural experience you'll need”
Easy to find! Get off at Gion station exit 3, walk straight and take the first right corner by Family Mart, walk a bit you'll see the ryokan on your right. I had the single room with garden view. It was awesome! I was so happy. The room was comfortable and cool. It was a good cultural experience for me and i had a comfortable happy night. Would be awesome if i had dinner there as well.

I can't find problem on this hotel. Good service, perfect location, and very cheap. I recommend you this hotel with enjoy. P.S.: on forward to familymart derection, you can see an Izakaya. It's delicious.

Lovely old building. Traditional room and bath. Free luggage storage, free tea. Quiet street, easy stroll to beaut restaurants. Cheaper if you go to trip adviser and have them direct you to agoda. Best value place we stayed at.

Kantan Ryokan”
This place is so much fun. It is 100% “kantan ryokan”, easygoing and, like, whatever ryokan. The staff is so super-helpful and friendly. You are sure to meet many interesting characters in the other guests, and the public bath is amazing. It’s an older place — slightly fraying, rough around the edges — but that shabby-chic quality makes it even more special. There’s a very “The Hot L Baltimore” meets “The Ritz” meets “Three’s Company” vibe to it that I really enjoyed, but if that is not your cup of tea then you will probably want something higher end. The cool people will find this place. I will totally stay here again.

Ryokan close to city centre”
The location was perfect - we were within walking distance to the main station, Gion, Nakasu, and Tenjin areas. We had to use a shared shower on the ground floor but did not find it a problem. There were bathrooms and sinks on the same floor. We did find time to use the onsen in the hotel. We loved the experience of staying in a ryokan.

Traditonal, japanese accomodation”
The traditional, japanese accomodation is not for everybody. You need to be aware, that the futon is hard and the comfort ist little, but if you are open minded enough to experience a culture this way, the Ryokan Kashinma Honkan is your choice. Traveling with two toddlers we are always afraid, that the kids (they make a lot of noise) could trouble us with their behavior. But we didn´t get any negative response. The location of the Ryokan is only 15-20 minutes walk away from Hakata station. a convenience store is nearby and a variety of eateries of any price level is available. We found it very convinient to walk to the Canal City Mall, to have dinner.

Seems to be an old building that they're trying to make work as a ryokan. My room was great for the price -- private japanese style room for what I've been paying for most capsules / hostels. There's a faint mold smell in one of the hallways.

Stayed for 3 nights and the room was spacious! Good: yukata and new towels every day, free coffee/tea, onsen, mini bar fridge inside room Bad: Bathroom is not sparkling clean, room may have holes in places, the room becomes dusty even if i close the doors & windows for the whole day
