We enjoyed being close to the famous hikes of Jebel Shams. The staff and room were great. We were even upgraded arriving a day before a busy period. The sunset was gorgeous. Food well prepared.

Astonishing view! ”
I stayed with some friends at this amazing location during Corona virus pandemic so we had meals delivered to our room and some of the facilities such as the pool were not available, even so we had a great time. Breakfast was okay but dinner was quite tasty and substantial. The resort has loads of ares to chill and for outdoor barbeque. I loved the way they used herbs, mostly mint, to beautifully decorate their gardens. They also used lots of pomegranate and peach trees. Being here was a great break from the heat of Muscat in the summer, we could go for long walks, there are several hike trails available and well signaled. Some require a great level of fitness but even just doing part of it was worthed. The road up Jebel Shams is good, mostly paved, but there are sections that are still unpaved.

Great location and friendly staff”
Because of the strong wind we were moved from the tent we had booked to a little one room house. As long as the sun was shining the little terrace was nice. Then it got really cold and the eletric heating in the room did not have a lot of effect, thus it was too cold.

The location is strategy as it is close to W6 Balcony Walk and Grand Canyon. Facilities are great with children playground and swimming. Dinner and breakfast buffet are awesome!

Splurge night for us in the middle of 8 days of camping. Warm showers, wonderful dinner and accommodations and the staff was superb

We stayed in the Arabian tent accommodation, it's very basic for the money you pay, you are paying for the location being at the top of the mountain. Disappointed that the rooms had 3 single beds in each of them after requesting the large beds. there were no other people staying in the tent accommodation so I'm not sure why this request wasn't met as we had large bed last time. The food was good and the staff very pleasant.

Could. be great, but...”
The location is the big attraction: if you want to stay next to the canyon for sunset/sunrise for the fantastic walking in the area, you have little choice.. It seems they know this - there was a slight feeling about the place that they’re doing you a favour. Eg Our chalet was really cold. We needed 2 space heaters to get warm - just! The room wasn’t serviced. We had to ask for clean towels, coffee & water. The WiFi didn’t work. Breakfast was a bit different, but meals are buffet style & essentially the same. The gates are locked overnight, which made getting out for sunrise & back in a real pain. Maybe we were just unlucky, but, despite the weather being great in the canyon, it was cold/windy throughout our stay. We wanted to rent bikes for the afternoon, but we felt that 5 rials/hr per bike was prohibitively expensive. It would’ve cost us $100. We stayed 2 nights. It’s expensive for what you get - in hindsight, we’d have been better off fitting it into 1 night.

Great location, but don’t lock the gates at night!”
This looked to be a great spot however the room was very damp smelling and not the cleanest. Not looking for anything fancy just basic cleanliness and airing the room before people arrive! Apart from that the location is terrific however we found ourselves locked in at night for some bizarre reason and couldn’t even open the pedestrian gate (also locked) to head off to a dart spot for some star gazing or to take in the sunrise. This was a deal breaker for me as I selected this spot for exactly these reasons and explicitly told the reception that I needed access. Despite being reassured that the key to open the gates (any of them) would be left handing outside - unfortunately this was not the case so we missed some valuable time. Apart from that the food was ok and the staff generally pleasant when around

The Location of the Camp is Great. After a Short Walk you have a wonderfull view over the canyon. The Sunrise room was clean but simple set up. Dinner was good.Unfortunately we were Not aware that they dont sell alcohol over there- so we missed the „sundowner“ Overall a good experience

The place is awesome no doubt. Be careful with the last 15-20km the road is not paved & I would suggest to take 4 wheel but small cars will go with extreme care & travel early while the sunlight is thr or else it's one of the darkest place on Earth :) Don't expect too much lavishness it's on 2000mt & with basic facilities, no internet connection & no telephone in the room. Food is very homely & we enjoyed it. If u r a photographer u r in for a nice treat... Have fun :)
