Amazing value onsen hostel ”
I stayed in a private tatami room with my husband, and the private room also had a private toilet/bathroom (without a shower). The room was very clean and had a table and closet too. The bathroom was also spotless. We went to the onsen at night which was really nice and relaxing and no one else was using it so it basically felt like a private onsen, for a fraction of the cost. The public showers were nice and clean. The staff were super nice and very responsive, really quick to reply emails and help out. My flight arrived late in Japan so I checked in late but they left very clear instructions for me. They were also very helpful with recommendations for sightseeing. I highly recommend K house Hakone, it’s such a good price compared to other onsen/ryokans. If you don’t care about having a Kaiseki meal, book this onsen!!!

Cute and cozy hostel!”
We had a lovely stay at K’s House Hakone. My husband and I shared a private room, and we were very comfortable there. The hostel is in a very nice location, a fairly short walk from downtown. We’d definitely stay here again!

GREAT STAY!”
K's House was a great find. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and had just enough space for 5 people and our luggage. It was our first time trying out tatami futons and it was super comfortable. The staff at K's House are super helpful! Thank you for helping us figure out our bus routes, as well as helping us book a table at the nearby restaurant. All these good things, but our very favourite part of the stay was the onsens - BOOK THEM FOR THE ONSENS IT'S AMAZING! Highly recommend.

A budget friendly hidden gem in Hakone”
True to the K hostel brand, it presents tremendous value at an affordable price. Highlight was definitely the outdoor (public) bath in the hostel. Nothing like sapling in the atmosphere at the end of a long day of walking in Hakone.

Surprisingly good”
Booked this because it’s close to Tenzan Onsen (one of my favourite), but ended up not going to Tenzan due to my schedule. To my surprise, the staffs are super friendly and accommodating. Speak perfect English so no issue with communication. The hotel has a mixture of foreign/western and Japanese vibes. Unique in a small town like Hakone. The room is simple but spacious. The in-house onsen is small but good enough as there are not many guests during my stay. The mountain view behind is a bonus! The only tricky part is that you need to take bus from Hakone-Yumoto stn to the hotel (6 stns away). With the Hakone pass, it’s a free ride! Overall, it’s way above my expectation. Will definitely come back again given a chance.

Best onsen hostel for single traveller”
If you travel along and like capsule room, this it the best option for your onsen trip in Hakone. The staff and facilities are good. Onsen is good too, worth the price. The only downside is location. It takes about a 10 mins walk from Hakoneyumoto station to this hostel. The road is a little steep. If you come with heavy luggage, it would be exhausting.

Cozy and Affordable”
I only stayed here one night and it was great. The gentlemen up at the front was helpful and knowledgeable on the surrounding areas of interest. The room itself was clean and roomy. Amenities are not as abundant, but you have the onsen available and everything else you need in the lower level (kitchen, shower, etc). Although it was a bit far from some areas of interest, it only allowed for more exploration as you traveled around.

Second time staying here. Still one of the nicest and cleanest hostels I have ever stayed at. Nearby bus stop will take you straight to the lake. Station is about a 10 minute walk away. Convenience store and very nice Izakaya just down the road.

Budget yet valuable option”
The hostel is good for the budget traveller, the best point is in house onsen for female & male. Everything is good except for the house a bit old but still acceptable for a short stay. Bus stop just outside of the hostel and convenient store is at doorstep distance.

Hostel with Onsen!”
So I chose this hotel for my cousins and I because it was an affordable place to stay with an onsen. We were given a dorm room in the basement (one level up from the basement onsen). The room was okay and musty according to my cousins. The pro was the staff and lobby were very nice. Also, the onsen were the highlight of our stay here since it opened until 2am and we were fortunate it wasn't too crowded. This hostel is also by the bus stop which is approx 30 mins away to Hakone central area - recommend to get there early and plan some time! Also, down the street is a public onsen with more onsen options.

Excellent service from Yayoi, the staff.”
Location is not so convenient, it's 10 mins away from Hakone Yumoto station, with an uphill steep walk, the bus is one every hour. There are no restaurants nearby. The room is ok, public onsen is nice and we did love the communal lounge area, nice spot for photos. The great thing is all the staffs speak excellent English, we met Yayoi during check in, she explained everything thoroughly, very helpful.

Sad to admit that the ONLY downside of this hostel is the location. Other than that, trust me, this hostel is PERFECT. Good onsen, good common area, good bed (big size of area). But that distance and uphill drained my stamina...
