K's house is great for the traveler looking to be close to the Asahidake ropeway, and appreciates having access to a very functional communal kitchen. Unlike many accommodations in Japan, K's house seems to cater to western tourists in that the rooms feature large comfortable beds (our room had a King bed which is unheard of in Japan), and hostel style amenities such as the kitchen, hangout "campground", ski gear storage including boot driers, ping pong table, etc. The Onsen is quite nice and is open to the public for a few yours in the afternoon/early evening, and open all night for guests. It was a good value, had a good location, very clean, and the staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

The location for accessing Mt Asahidake is unbeatable, and the place was really clean and well furnished. Their kitchen facility is well equipped and if you need food, they have a small store nearby where you can get both instant and easy to cook food. Staff was great and very knowledgeable. They have 3 indoor onsens and 1 outdoor ones--very relaxing to soak in after a day's trek up the mountain. I read somewhere that it used to be a full fledged hotel before it got converted to a hostel, which is why the rooms are actually quite spacious, with plenty of choices for couples/families/solo travellers. Highly recommend K's hostel!

I had a nice stay here. As the property description states, there are no supermarkets or convenience stores nearby, so you should bring supplies with you. The hostel sells basics, though--canned beans and fish, instant rice, beer and even whiskey. My room was basic and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Staff was nice. I liked the kitchen, which had everything I needed. Everyone cooked, some producing fairly lavish meals. You can find nearby hiking trails in less than 10 minutes and the ropeway is a little farther than that.

Relaxed and big Hostel”
The hostel has a lot space for eating, sitting, relaxing, reading and is very nice designed. On a day with sunshine you will be able to see the mountain Asahi dake from breakfast table ;) they have a professional, clean and well equipped kitchen. They also provide slippers in different sizes so even "bigfoods" will find a pair. They offer drinks and simple food at the kiosk for a hod price. We were very surprised about the morning special which includes toast and coffee. The onsen offeres different baths, I can recommend the outdoor one which you can also use in the late evening. There are no western showers but the cleaning area in the onsen provides everything you need and through that you have a real japaneese experience. The beds were cosy but there is no curtain. For us it was not problem ;) it was great that you were able to open the window, without being scared of mosquitos. The area is oerfect for a visit of the mountains and the lake, but you should bring a car. The hostel offers parking places as well. the staff speaks great English and is very helpful and friendly. We highly recommend this accommodation!!

お風呂は露天風呂あり、源泉掛け流しです。ドミトリーはベッドにカーテンがありません。タオルとバスタオル各一枚無料レンタルあります。 キッチンが充実しており、お鍋類、炊飯器、カセットガスコンロ、土鍋、食器、最低限の粉系調味料と炒め用サラダ油、大型冷蔵庫、オーブントースター、電子レンジ、炊飯器があります。冬季に長期滞在の方に対応してます。スタッフ優しいです。共用スペースはかなり大きいです。洗濯機乾燥機はセットで500円です。

スタッフの方は気さくに話しかけてくださり、1人でしたが、寂しくなく、過ごせました。 朝食にはパンがついていました。 一階のフリールームみたいな場所は、まるでキャンプ場ですよ！ テント張ってあって、ハンモックもあるし、チェアもあり。 ゲームや、本もたくさんあるので、のんびりした時間を過ごせます^_^ また、絶対来ます！

値段の割には非常に清潔感があり、温泉も素晴らしい。食事は、共有スペースのみとされているがソーシャルディスタンスが保たれており、気持ちよく食事ができた。キッチンスペースも清潔感があり、自炊する人も多かった。

遅くなってしまうと、無人での入館チェックインになるが、その場合早朝に発つ事が出来ない点に注意。登山等で早朝に出発する場合は、早めにチェックインすることをおすすめする。
