        Gorgeous hotel in great location”

        Room design, location, staff

I loved this hotel! It was very easy to find and very close to Kew Gardens tube station on the District Line and just a few minutes walk to one of the Kew Garden's entrances. The ground floor is a pub and restaurant, with the rooms above that on three floors in an old converted house. I didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. The hotel is very near a lot of eateries, from Pizza Express to italian, indian and others. Check in was easy and I was told I would be on the third floor, in Room 19. There aren't any lifts so maybe not so good for people with lots of luggage but easy for me. The room itself was gorgeous! Really nicely decorated with gorgeous lighting and furniture. They have Nespresso machines in the room so you can get decent coffee (big bonus!). The bed was large and very, very comfortable. The bathroom was small but perfectly adequate and again, really nicely done out. It had both a bath and a shower and they provide a dressing gown.I only hear noise once, when the people in the room opposite came up and went into their room but no issue and didn't hear anything again. They also provide a really good hairdryer (v. important!!). The following details are not 'cons' as such as I loved it but just additional information for those that might find it useful: - The room was a little narrow, with the bed taking up most of the width so you had to scrape past it to get to the bathroom. - My room was on the third floor, which won't suit everyone as it is a bit of a trek up the stairs - I hadn't used a Nespresso machine before but there are instructions and it is very easy once you know how For those who don't know, Kew Gardens is a little outside of central London but you can get a train from there direct to Stratford and, of course, the District Line, which takes you one way to Richmond and the other way into town, to Earls Court, South Kensington, Victoria, Tower Hill etc so although it is a little further out, access to the city is easy.

Quaint and traditional Hotel at Kews”

A quaint 20 rooms Hotel with super polite and helpful employees. Smallish room but super comfortable and fluffy beds. Bathroom is really small by Asian standards but adequate. Super location if you are visiting Kew Gardens as it is only approximately two hundred meters away from Victoria Gate. Public transport is super as there is a Bus stop right in front of the hotel. The London Overground / Underground Station is less than 100 meters away from the hotel. Getting to Richmond Park for example is a breeze. Super convenient location. Food at the hotel is great too coupled with good service. If one is looking for a traditional English hotel experience... you don't need to look further. Come on over to Kew Gardens Hotel.

Used as a base for visiting Twickenham rugby matches on two weekends”

A nice place with just a few minor niggles. Great location, 2 mins from Kew Garden tube which connects via Richmond to Twickenham train station or to London centre. Twickenham stadium on foot is 90 mins on a very busy road. The hotel is a pub downstairs with rooms above, there's no lift and if you're on the third floor the top flight of stairs is very narrow and steep, shower cubicles are tiny, but we requested a larger one and got a shower over bath on the second visit. Lovely Orla Keily toiletries and a basket of products (toothbrush, nail kit etc). First week breakfast took an hour and 15 minutes from start to finish, there's a buffet of pastries and cereal then you order cooked food and hot drinks. No sausage or mushrooms left on first week, much better second week (30 mins) although I did overhear chef complaining as I ordered an off-menu omelette filling of tomato instead of cheese. Lovely, friendly staff in the main and clean, comfortable bedrooms.

If you're next to Kew Gardens, this place is great”

This hotel with a pub on the ground floor has a beautiful interior and is a short walk to Kew Gardens. It is not located in downtown London, so it's best for people who's activities are focused on Richmond. However, the room was lovely and the shower superb. The staff are all friendly and work to ensure you have a great stay. I recommend it.

        Excellent location with brilliant staff”

We were staying for a wedding in Kew Gardens on Friday. The hotel's location was ideal, a very short walk from Kew Gardens tube and no distance from the wedding venue. The staff were brilliant, even though we had some small but daft requests to make our lives easier! The only very minor downside was the en-suite was small, but it was perfectly usable. Breakfast was just right for us, and timed to perfection. What's not to like. The perfect end to a lovely wedding.

        Good hotel”

Lovely hotel, but could do with a makeover! Need new windows and proper air-conditioning installed, instead of a unit with a tube that needs to go out the window! However, the temperatures this weekend were extremely high! We had a problem with our mattress, but this was sorted soon after it was reported! All the staff were great, so friendly and helpful - couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was nice with a good choice and the meal we had on Sunday evening was absolutely superb!! Excellent location for Kew Gardens and railway station, Kew is a really lovely place.

Stayed in Richmond for the half marathon”

close to start of race, bar and restaurant included, close to trains

We usually stay in hotels, but this little guest house with it's own bar and restaurant was excellent. Friendly welcome, even though we arrived last due to journey time. The stairs are quite strenuous for anyone with a wobbly disposition. The room was excellent and the access to the rooms through the bar and private door was really good. Tesco express nearby, along with Kew gardens and the tube train. An all round excellent little guest house that I would stay in again.

Why stay in a city centre rabbit hutch?”

        Location. Room comfort. Helpful staff.

If you stay here you will find a large comfortable room at a much lower price than in central London and you will be 2 minutes walk from the Underground with a guarantee of a seat on the train! Furthermore, if the weather permits you will have easy access to Kew Gardens and delightful riverside walks so you can think you are really in the country. In the evening you can either go up to the West End or walk downstairs to a charming local pub with an excellent looking menu. We ate in one of the many other local restaurants. My only tip would be to advise you not to leave the window open if you are in a front room as the cigarette smoke from the smokers outside downstairs drifts into the room. It quickly dissipates on closing time.

Nice rooms above a lovely pub in a great location”

The bar and breakfast were lovely. A really peaceful place to spend the morning. The location for Kew Gardens was perfect (15minute walk) and the tube station was literally around the corner with district and circle lines. We would stay again but I would pay a little more for a better room as we were up 4 flights of stairs in a small room in the attic. The room was very clean except for some foil wrapping under the duvet cover. A bit unfortunate.

        Kew”

Very well positioned for the tube, Kew gardens and Richmond. Our room was small but comfortable with all we required. The staff were excellent, all very friendly and helpful, very popular with locals just coming in for a tea or coffee from breakfast time onwards and a varied menu for the restaurant.

Great for an upmarket "pub hotel" experience”

        location, food, ambience

We chose KGH for the ambience (neither a classic B&B nor a standard (chain) hotel), value, and the convenient location in the beautiful Kew/Richmond area, with both Kew Gardens and the tube (as well as shops) only a few minutes away. The food was very good (incl. the à la carte breakfast items) too.

        Great place to stay”

A really lovely hotel in a great location a few minutes walk from Kew station and the National Archives. Good value for money and the breakfast was fantastic. My only slight grumble was the room we were in (16) suffered from a constant noise coming from the ceiling of the corridor outside the room. I think the air conditioning unit is located there and it was pretty intrusive when trying to get to sleep. Other than that it was a really enjoyable stay.

Excellent and warm service from everyone we met during our 2 night's stay, from reception to housekeeping, restaurant and pub. Very pleasant stay. Check in and check out were both very fast and efficient. 10min walk away from the beautiful Kew Garden.

        Perfectly satisfactory”

Staff were friendly and helpful, room was nice and clean, location fantastic for Kew Gardens. Very convenient for local shops, too. However, the room (basic but fine, a bit on small side) was at the front, outside bus stop and also people speaking at the bar tables, so not easy to get to sleep on a hot night with window open, especially when the fan kindly provided didn't actually work.

        Kew Garden Winter Walk”

So convenient for Kew Garens, with several cafes, restaurants and unique shops. Easy to get to from by rail. Very pleasant staff and although a little dated the hotel was very clean with pristine bedding and towels.

Wonderful stay! Everyone was helpful and lovely!”

The location to the Kew Underground is perfect...a five minute walk. The pub was lively the day we arrived and we happily settled in for Sunday roast which was very good. Our breakfast was included and was a good hearty English breakfast. Overall our stay was a good one. The staff was warm and welcoming. Can't say enough!

        Great place to stay”

The hotel is close to Kew Gardens and the tube station. It has some lovely restaurants close by.

The stay was great the room was clean and comfortable. It was hot but each room was supplied with a fan and you could open the window. Room 10 is is rather small I was alone and that was fine but it was a double room. All the staff are very helpful breakfast was great. The first morning service was a little slow but only one person was on duty the second morning was much faster as there were two people on duty. It wasn't a problem for me but some people might have been found it annoying. I didn't eat lunch or dinner there but the bar snacks were good. if you want to mix with the locals the bar is the place to be and they are really friendly which can be unusual for Londoners! The area has a village feel to it which is nice. There are nice shops and restaurants nearby and I would definitely stay there again.
