숙소가 요쓰야산초메역에 내려서 구석진 곳에 위치해 있어 첫날 캐리어를 들고 들어가는 것이 힘 들기는 하지만 료칸라운지에 들어서는 순간 다 잊게 됩니다. 직원분이 료칸 사용법을 상세히 알려주시고 개인 실내화가 구비되어 있어 료칸에서 지내는 동안 편안하게 지낼 수 있습니다. 방에 들어서면 유카타와 전통적인 다다미방으로 일본 느낌을 물씬 느낄 수있습니다. 온도도 따뜻하고 폭신한 이불이 있어 여행의 피로를 풀 수있습니다. 하지만 공동생활을 하는 곳이라 옆방에서 나는 소리를 들을 수있어 만약 잠귀가 밝은 분께는 비추입니다. 샤워실도 세면대도 화장실도 모두 공용으로 사용하지만 개인에게 배정 된 것 처럼 깨끗하고 원할 때 바로바로 사용 할 수있게 층마다 배치 되어 있습니다. 그리고 다음 날이 되어 여행을 하려고 료칸에서 역으로 나가면서 일본의 일상생활모습을 볼 수있어 자유여행을 하는 여행자에게 추천하고 싶습니다. 요쓰야 산초메역에서 신주쿠까지 지하철로 별로 안 걸리고 하라주쿠까지도 가까워서 만약 여행지가 이 부근이라면 타다미아 료칸을 쓰는 것을 추천합니다. 1층에 냉장고와 정수기가 있어 필요에 따라 자유롭게 이용이 가능하고 아침에는 조식을 드실 수 있습니다. 조식은 아침에 바로 만들어주시는데 일본가정식입니다. 만약 또 도쿄로 여행간다면 다시 이용하고 싶고 친구들한테도 강추하고 싶은 곳입니다.

옆방 투숙객이 코를 심하게 골아서 결국 잠을 잘 수 없었음.. 위치도 조금은 찾기 헷갈림, 방 사이즈도 적고, 프라이버시가 보장되지 않는 느낌은 있으나 시설과 무료 유카타 대여등 직원은 친절함. 가격대비 불만족.

Great hospitality and atmosphere”
We had a great stay in Tadaima Ryokan. The staff is very welcoming, they're trying hard so everyone could feel like home. Rooms are very basic: tatami mats, futons and small table, but this is one of the things that make the hotel so special. You can actually feel the traditional Japanese tavern atmosphere, wear your Yukata and socialize with other guests in the dining area. We loved it! It's much more than just a place to spend the night :) Thank you Yuya and the team :)

If you want to suffocate... ”
Top 3 places I enjoyed sleeping at: 1. Ryokan in kyoto 2. Any other hotel 3. That one time I fell asleep on the shinkansen for about an hour. You might have noticed tadaima isnt on this list because I did not enjoy tadaima at all. Don't expect your cab drivers to ever take you to the ryokan. The place is so hard to find that they will only give you 2 dowsing sticks and point you north. Rooms are very open and you can hear your floor mates snoring at all times of the night and you will need to whisper in case you want to talk or be overheard. Imagine propping up 3 books while at the library and you'll get a comparable experience.

Quiet and Peaceful ”
Finding the place can be a bit difficult the first time, but after you get a feel for the backstreets, you really appreciate how hidden it is. The whole area is very quiet and serene; a wonderful environment to return to at night after a busy day exploring. The first day, my gps took me a crazy long way with lots of stairs, but the metro is actually really close by—about a 5 minute walk through a few side streets and down a main road. The staff are so friendly and accommodating, and the rooms are clean and inviting. It really feels like you’ve been welcomed into someone’s cosy home. As a shy solo traveler, I loved staying here, and can’t wait to stay here again on my next visit.

Overall, I liked it! Just be prepared, you will hear your neighbors when they unpack/pack and get up. If you are a light sleeper, earplugs are a must. The shower stall could be better - it's clean but plumbing wise, it could be improved as the water collects and drains slowly. The staff are really friendly!

Just wonderful, friendly staff in a beautiful home ”
I was super excited to spend a night in a ryokan and it lived up to my expectations and more. In a suburb close to Shinjuku, easy to get to, in a clean and warm and inviting home, with a beautiful vibe and welcoming people, I could not have asked for more. Everyone made me feel so very welcome and helped me in every aspect. It was the full Japanese experience to sleep on the mat, in a small room, with a kimono/robe given to wear, and slippers around the home. Normally being a solo budget traveller I would not have spent the money, but I am glad I did, even for one night. Definately recommend.

AMAZING location "great food" so close and all in walking distance like the public transport, food in particular Da Salice, totally recommend Tadaima Japan Shinjuku Ryokan, traditional style accommodation friendly and helpful staff - we had such a good time we really want to return again soon.

One of the BEST experiences during my 2 week Japan Trip!”
My 2 night stay at Tadaima was one of the best experiences in my 2 week trip across Japan. It's located in an older part of Tokyo, which encompasses 300 bars and restaurants. The place itself is very quaint and very clean, both of which I appreciate. But what I'll remember most is the staff. Shinji is a terrific host, always happy to answer any question I had about the area, the Japanese language/culture or Japan in general. We had hours of interesting and entertaining conversations. The same goes for Airi. She's a very impressive young woman and I really enjoyed our talks as well. Rumi was a total sweetheart and Keisuke is super sharp and funny. I'm already planning my return to Japan, around a year from now. I hope to visit my friends at Tadaima again!

We loved the staff: Keisuke and Shinji who went the extra miles to help us. We gave them 6-stars. We booked the room at the last minute on a day a typhoon was supposed to pass by, so the price of $175/day including breakfast was kind of unexpected. Although we love the location with hilly and narrow passage, finding the hotel location at very late night under the rain was no fun especially with luggages since the taxi was not able to reach the hotel .

The rooms were small, and there are no doors on the rooms, simply a curtain that separates all rooms in the small shared hallway. Wouldn't have stayed if I had known there were no doors, you can hear people even quietly talking from the room across or adjacent. Otherwise, staff was friendly and the showers and shared bathroom areas were nice and clean. The cramped space and curtain were the main downside.
