Excellent weekend break in the famous onsen area”
Pros: - Excellent buffet dinner/breakfast - Excellent outdoor onsen within the hotel - Great services from friendly staff throughout - Great rooms with good amenities - Free shuttlebus service to/from downtown Kusatsu every 30mins or so until around 9pm - Option to rent out private onsen bath rooms should you need it Cons: - None identified in my short weekend stay - only wished I could stay longer :)

Location is out of town. Great for skiers. Hotel shuttle makes it easy to go between hotel and activities in town. Nothing to do within walking distance of the hotel. Onsen layout is excellent.

A very nice hotel with wonderful onsen and buffet”
Overall speaking, Kusatsu Now Resort Hotel is a wonderful hotel. The room I stayed is quite big. Buffet dinner and buffet breakfast were included. The food was really nice. The thing I enjoyed most was the onsen. It's very clean and tbhe view of the outdoor onsen is nice. The only thing I wasn't satisified was that no wifi service was provided in the bedroom. Wifi was only available in the lobby for ten minutes.

Awesome Onsen”
We had a 3-person room on a busy weekend. The hotel has a shuttle to the slopes so it's quite convenient. The best thing about the hotel was the food though. Omg so good. The onsens in Kusatsu are all good as it's the best onsen town in Japan.

Kusatsu Now Resort Survey”
Everything is perfect except a little hicup about shuttle bus service in which I have to pay an extra 6480 yen (but I only agreed to 4000 yen with the manager there). According to their website and the payment conditions shuttle service is already included in the hotel price. I have also asked the front desk of another hotel which I stayed the night before to call to confirm the pick up location. I was told that whenever I have a reservation I can choose any of the pick up points to board the shuttle bus. Upon arrival I was asked by the manager to pay an extra 6480 yen (which is almost 20% of my room fare). The manager was nice but insisted that I have to pay. Eventually I agreed on 4000 yen as I did not want to drag that argument any longer with the manager and destroyed my holiday mode. Hope they can tidy up their web booking to include room rates for WITH and WITHOUT shuttle bus. I really wish other guests will not be trapped into the same situation as mine. Thanks and best wishes

Enjoyed the stay at the hotel - it was near the yubatake and the hotel provided free shuttle bus to and fro from town There are plenty of restaurants at Yubatake but the dinner and bfast spread was awesome ! Quality food the only thing is that the room was a little dated - felt like the room was a decor in the 70s but it was absolutely clean onsen was a little far a walk though worth it the hotel provides alot of activities but all are chargeable

This is hotel resort where there is a big bath for onsen good for the one who like to onsen. Shuttle service provide from bus station to report and food for both of dinner and breakfast are superb.

Nice onsen”
Outdoor onsen is the highlight, especially when it's snowing, the snow flakes land directly on your face while dipping in onsen. This is a big modern resort, not those traditional Japanese style building. Room is spacious, buffet style breakfast and dinner got many choices too.

My second time staying here. Still love it. But the quality of the double room is not as good as the twin room. Cleanliness also poorer than before.

Good location but not comfortable to onsen ”
Onsen is not big bath as expectation and the walk way to big bath is not convenience becuase we have to walk through the hotel lobby to the pool, no private walk way from the room to the pool and big bath Dinner and BF is great but a little bad mood from late queuing almost half hour beacause the hotel officer forgot to record our queue and we had to ask them for 2-3 times, so they will recognize. So much annoyed.

Old hotel ”
We were charge for the bus ride for return even though we only use one way. Room are old and stuffy. When outside are snowing we still need to open the window wide. Feel like unable to breathe at all. Though the choices of dinner are wide cos is Buffet style but food isn't tasty at all. Breakfast are Buffet style too. Two nights are more than enough. No activities at the hotel. Suggest one night is sufficient. We paid extra to have Japanese dinner instead of Buffet.
