An traditional and authentic Japanese onsen we loved our stay here and the staff was excellent. They even called us to warn us about the road closure and provided us with alternative route as we had informed them of late check in since we were driving from the snow monkey park. Ms. Horu informed they won't be able to provided dinner due to late arrival which we understood and accepted even though it was apart of our booking. We stayed in touch with them as they had called us a few times to ensure our safety and we were so grateful for it. We arrived around 8.30pm and they still managed to prepare our dinner which we were thankful as most places were closed due to the heavy snow. While we had our dinner in a private room our bags were sent up and they even gave us an upgrade for our room. The staff were very professional, thoughtful and attentive. We will surely return and stay here again as its such a beautiful place.

staffs are too nice to us”
it is an amazing trip staying in Boun. We were too late to catch the bus going to Boun as we didn't aware winter time schedule has changed. Thus, we arrive at the hotel super late around at 9pm. But the hostel kindly reserved us the dinner and even picked us up while we were finding this hotel in dark on the street. Staffs are so nice to us and we can't say thank you enough !!!! Onsen is perfect and highly recommend!!!!

The only thing is not to stay at the 1st floor. We were bothered by those who stayed at the 2nd floor very much late at night. Other than that, everything is perfect. Staff is friendly and helpful. The room is pretty spacious with excellent Japanese garden view. Onsen is also worth going!

Great Onsen”
The location is great, within 5 minutes walking distance to reach the main attraction of Kusatsu and you will get free entrance ticket to the Netsunoyu show. Room is good, was expecting bigger space with the price, but anyhow it is sufficient for our family of 3 adults and 2 babies (no extra futon for babies who didn't need to pay room fee). Love the onsen in the ryokan, meals are great as well. And they have parking for guest, which is very close to the ryokan entrance.

On a hill. Short walk from bus terminal but also offer free shuttle bus. Nice ambience. Really good onsen (temperature quite high). Cuisine is not bad.

Excellent”
The hotel itself is great. Has 3 onsens (public baths) open almost 24 hours, with outdoor water basins and a lot of cosmetic products available. The traditional dinner was really impressive. The staff at reception was not speaking English too well. They should have been speaking the best English, but that was not the case. Also worth visiting is the great outdoor bath (onsen), separate from the hotel. Overall, Kusatsu is worth visiting.

Good location, clean, onsen is good too. But, both dinner and breakfast are not as good as expected, way below the money paid. If we just stayed without taking the meal option, I would say it’s good.

I thought I booked both meals, but Agoda deal can only offer breakfast at last.”
It is the second time I reserve a room here via Agaoda. Unfortunately, it is a great lost this time as I didn't aware the booking doesn't include the dinner. I found it when I arrive the hotel which I feel so disappointed. The hotel itself is great. Staff are very helpful with the shuttle car driving us to the bus station.
