Exceptional”
We have a pleasent night at the hotel. Our room at the main block is upgraded, spacious resting area viewing the west side scenery. We walk to the onsen situated at the second block, along the corridoor, books, photos related to the old hotel are exhibited. The onsen are refreshing.

Big hotel very near yubatake .”
Very close to. Yubatake. Shops and restaurants nearby. Old room at annex buiding but keep clean and easy to access onsen. Nice onsen both indoor and outdoor. Onsen seems small if compare to the size of hotel. Dinner and breakfast just fine. (Keiseki) Staffs very helpful.

I had a really large room with the view”
Breakfast was nice, a lot of choices. Onsen was not too bad, baths were quite clean but it was crowded. My bad for going during peak periods. I have to say something about the room. It was at the end of the corridor and I get the chills when I go in or out of the room. To make matters worse, I did not get much sleep. This is the first time, I have ever experienced this in Japan honestly.

Ichii is located right in front of the most famous landmarks Yubatake. It has a lower PH (around 4.6) hot spring which is more acidic.

Hotel Ichii is conveniently located in front of Kusatsu Yubatake. We stayed in a room with fantastic Yubatake view. Hotel outdoor onsen is good, natural with strong surphur smell and high temperature. Onsen is not big (considering hotel size), better avoid peak time.

The hotel is located at the heart of Kusatsu onsen. There are restaurants around the hotel. The room is big enough for 3 adults. The buffet restaurant at the hotel is good. The hotel public bath is very good. There are both indoor and outdoor bath.

Perfect place to stay”
We went for a weekend trip with one overnight stay and enjoyed both hotel onsen and other onsens around the city. The hotel facilities are really big but we never had the feeling of being in a crowded place - neither for meals nor in the spa. Breakfast and dinner in buffet style offered an excellent selection of Japanese food, and even if the hotel rooms in our floor were still waiting for refurbishing, everything was clean and tidy. Finally we also enjoyed several times the hotel shuttle bus to the local bus station. One tip for non-Japanese: Ask for a "waribiki voucher" at the front desk - this gives you a lot of 10% discounts around the city and on the nearby ropeway.

We like this hotel very much. Ichii is located right in front of the Kusatsu's famous yubatake, Dinner and breakfast buffet were delicious. We will go back again.

Older hotel with Excellent location next to yubatake”
The location is hard to beat, being 3 minutes from bus station, and right in front of Yubatake. It is also short walk to all three major public onsens. The hotel is on the older side. But the dinner and breakfast are reasonable for a buffet style offerings.

Excellent location in Kusatsu.”
Kusatsu is a very charming little town. But it offers amazing experience and adventure at any season of the year. I was there three times this year: summer, autumn and winter.

The buffet dinner and breakfast offered wide selection of food. The onsen was good. The location is also excellent offering a good view of yubatake and the mountain ftom the top floor.

Nice hotel located in front of Ubatake which is the heart of the town. Nice on-sen for both indoor and outdoor. Staffs are polite, friendly, and helpful. Clean room with well facilities. Surprisingly we'd got upgrade our room, thank you. There's a bus provided from the bus terminal but need to make and appoint or ask for assistant from tourist information counter at the bus terminal.

Great location, but lacks personal touch”
Location Is superb, right next to Yubatake. However, perhaps because we just visited ryokans at Mt Fuji and Hakone, we expected the same personal touch. This ryokan was more like a hotel. alhough the rooms, Yukata, and onsen was like a ryokan, the service was impersonal. Not a deal-breaker though. Food was ok-ish. I personally wouldn't do the dinner, as the restaurants outside had amazing food (i.e. soba, mushroom tempura, etc which are Kusatsu's specialties were not served at the dinner buffet).
