a bit far from station so the shuttle bus is pretty helpful. walking distance to onsen. Cozy onsen inside. love it there!

Convenient but very dated”
The staff, location, public bath get 5 stars. The free shuttle service is very convenient. The ski area is an easy reach from here as is the city center. However, the hotel rooms are very old with worn carpets. The carpets in the lobby are water stained and darkish. That said, everything is clean and functions well. The food (breakfast and dinner) was plenty but not so yummy.

Value for money, free shuttle”
The hotel was good enough if you are looking for an affordable hotel in the area. They have scheduled shuttle going to/from Kusatsu onsen which is convenient for us. It will only take a 5min ride from the hotel. Room is average with basic amenities. The onsen in the hotel is really nice and relaxing. They have various Yukata that you can borrow and take pictures on which we really like. One thing that bothers us was the experience when we checked in. We didn’t feel welcome, it would be better if the front desk is friendlier and welcoming. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Smoking hotel, no non-smoking rooms.”
Asked/opted for a non-smoking room but was told that the hotel do no offer a non-smoking room and can only de-odourise. Be sure that you can tolerate smoke smell. Property is quite old/run-down.

The hotel is little far away from bus station while it provides free shuttle bus service, so the location isn’t an issue. Thank you for the hotel staff, they’re really helpful.

Smoking rooms - ugh ! We were finally upgraded as they couldn’t find one that didn’t smell ( read stibk ) of smoke. Onsen is fabulous - outside great. Evening dinner Japanese buffet was excellent.

The location is simply superb”
We are a group of 3 adults. We had a great stay at Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Resort. The rooms and facilities were spotless, in accordance with the usual standard of Japanese cleanliness. The facilities were good, I really enjoyed the onsen baths. Both the outdoor and indoor pools had the correct water temperature and were beautiful pools. The soap and shampoo used were just great, their conditioner made my hair so silky and smooth... front desk staff were friendly and knew a little English but the cafeteria/breakfast staff can be quite cold to foreigners. Not that it does anything to the whole experience of the trip because Kusatsu was great and overall I really enjoyed my stay. This hotel is near the Bus Terminal (bit of an uphill walk), only about 7 - 10 minutes walk, and is within walking distance of the major onsen centre Yubatake. If you struggle with the hills walk like we sort of did, then a shuttle bus operates very frequently (on a near hourly basis) from the hotel to the Bus Terminal. If there was something I had to nitpick, my group did not enjoy the breakfast because the menu was bland (pre-prepared breakfast teishoku with natto, pickles and the usual stuff but no shake or tamagoyaki), but it's not a really big problem. Overall I had an enojyable stay at this hotel and would recommend it to fellow travellers. Thank you Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Resort for taking such good care of us.

お部屋も清潔で広々、暖房つけなくても暖かく、窓からの雪景色も湯畑の光がチラチラ見えて素敵でした。 お風呂も露天風呂も泉質も最高でした。雪見風呂できました☆ 昔ながらの卓球やゲーセンや売店も昭和感があってほっこりします。 どこもストーブがたいてあら、暖かかったです。 マンガもあったので寝る前に読みました。 シャトルバスが出てるのですぐに湯畑に行けて便利。夏なら湯畑まで歩きたいです。 素泊まりで行ったので次は食事付きにして行きたいです♩

値段以上のサービスでした”
1人約6000円で朝食込みの格安な宿泊でしたので、あまり設備やサービスに期待していませんでしたが、期待以上によかったです。湯畑からは遠いですが歩けない距離ではなく、更にバスが何本も出ていて利用しやすかったです。浴衣の種類が多く、気に入った浴衣で湯畑を散策することが出来ました。夜中に入浴したので露天風呂が貸し切り状態でとてもきれいでした。スタッフさんが丁寧に応対されていました。次回行く時も利用したいと思いました。

6人家族でディナー+朝食付で50000円いかない位でした。 ホテルの見た目や内装は確かに古かったですが、趣のある感じです。 昔ながらのホテルといった感じでした(*^^*) スタッフの方はとても親切で、1歳児を含めた6人でしたが、当初の部屋では狭いと思われるとのことで、広い部屋に変更されてました！(追加料金無し)素晴らしい、心遣いでした。 夕食の時、小さい子がいたので奥まった場所でとても助かり、尚且つ旦那が箸を落としてしまった時も見逃さず、こちらが何もいってないのにすぐに新しい箸を用意してくれました。 観察力が素晴らしかったです。 とても気持ちよく宿泊できました。湯畑からは少し歩きますが、頻繁に送迎のバスがでてるので、全然苦になりませんでした。 バスの運転手さんもとても優しい方です。 近くのホテルもいいかもしれませんが、湯畑までの細い道をマイクロバスでとてもスムーズに運転する技術をみれて感激です。 ギリギリのトンネルを難なく走行したりと、とても見ものですよ！

中心部から離れていますが、シャトルバスが出ているので全く不便はありません。 施設は全体的に年季が入っていますが、スタッフの方は全体的に親切で温かみがあるので「昔ながらの日本の観光地」を感じることができます。 レストランも広くておいしいので、1~2日の滞在なら何の不自由もなく快適に過ごせるはずです。

小さな子供を連れての旅行だったが、従業員の気配りや言葉遣いで、妻がたいそう喜んでいた。 全体的に設備に古さは感じだがこの長い不況にあっては仕方ないものだとも思う。逆に昭和感を感じたい方には＋ポイントになるかもしれません。頑張っていたホテルの従業員の人達を応援する意味でも、機会があればまた行きたいホテルになりました。

親戚7人で宿泊しました。 大部屋を低価格でワイワイ楽しく宿泊できました。 浴衣で卓球して温泉に入り母が大満足で喜んでいました。 お食事も地元の美味しい物が盛りだくさんでとても良かったです。 お部屋にウェルカムで置いてあるこんにゃくのお餅が美味しかったのでお土産に買いました。 またみんなで泊まりたいです。 ありがとうございました。(^^)
