Pleasant stay ”
It was a pleasant stay. Enjoyed the onsen. The stay came with breakfast kaiseki set, good spread but not exquisite enough considering the high price paid for stay. The same goes for the room. It was just a basic tatami room, though spacious. The price paid for it could get a very expensive 5-star stay probably even in Tokyo. Perhaps there isn't much choice in Kusatsu. There is no wifi in the hotel, need to search for wifi service in town centre.

The hotel is very near the yubatake area., within 5 mins walk and a 7-10 min walk to the bus terminal. It's quite old but well-maintained. Their food was amazing! It's served kaiseki style though in their restaurant and not in your room. The staff aren't really well-versed in English but they sure do try to communicate as best they could, all with pleasant "happy to serve" disposition. One down-side is their private onsen in detached from the building itself, though just a 2 min walk away. Would definitely love to come back and stay at Kane Midori.

Great Location and Friendly Staff”
Location is great. less than 5 mins walk to the town centre and a 10mins walk from the bus station. hotel is also a short stroll to the park nearby. Cant compare the hotel outdoor onsen in terms of size to those in Hakone but the reduced tourists around makes it a nice quiet place. Overall a more expensive onsen hotel in the town but well worth the money. Breakfast is good too

Close to everything. Dinner was amazing, exceeded our expectations. Lady's onsen is very clean. Loved free kimono provided. Very attentive and friendly staff. One of the best places we stayed during our two weeks trip in Japan.

Private outdoor onsen”
A walking distance from station from the bus terminal. It is a well maintained building although you can tell it is a pretty old one. We chosen this ryokan for its outdoor private onsen.

Comfortable and convenient at reasonable price”
Room is basic, not luxury, but clean and very comfortable. Toilet and bathroom included in room, which was convenient. Included breakfast and dinner were substantial and delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful but not very good at English. Yet we could communicate effectively with some translators or body language. We could walk to the town centre in 5 min. A bit pity that the hot spring would not swap for women and men after midnight. Enjoyable stay. Good value. Will go there again.

Fantastic view from the window”
We only spent one night there and I wished I had booked more nights. It was close to the centre and there were free tickets for the local tourist attractions in the hotel lobby. Both the inside and outside spring bath were great. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed a bravo breakfast there. I would like to introduce KANE MIDORI to my friends.

Traditional japanese experience ”
The inn is located between the bus station and the yubatake about 200m each way. The staff try very hard to please, they are japenese speaking only, few words in English as is the whole town. The room and facilities very clean. My first time sleeping on futons on tatami mats, it was hard for me, they have extra mats in closet so i put4 pads. to make more comfortable. The inside and outside bath is good size ,never crowded. Tv japanese channel only. Didn’t try the restaurants due to our dietary restrictions

The staff drove us to the ski centre and bus station. We arrived late at night but the staffs are still waiting for us at the front desk. Though their English is limited, they tried their very best to help. Very comfortable and relaxing environment.

Locate near the bus station just about 2-3 min walks and easy to go to the center of the town. They provide yukata that you can wear to go outside. Onsen was good. Overall atmosphere was very relax to stay no sound from outside the room.

Un accueil peu chaleureux qui ne peut être excusé uniquement par l'absence du parler anglais ”
Je ne voudrais pas axer mon évaluation sur le problème de la communication avec des touristes non japonais, qui certes n'arrange pas les choses car d'autres points font que cet hôtel de style ryokan n'est pas à la hauteur de ses appréciations. Le Onsen de l'hôtel, malgré son bain extérieur dans un joli jardin zen avec la neige en hiver, n'a aucun lieu de repos pour se reposer après le bain, si bien qu'on est pressé de remonter dans sa chambre après le. bain et là on a droit à un vulgaire fauteuil IKEA inconfortable qui ne donne pas envie de s'assoupir devant la fenêtre en regardant la neige tomber ou le coucher de soleil. Le chauffage des chambres est un enfer, soit on crève de chaud, soit on crève de froid. Le check-in a été épique, certes c'est là que l'anglais manque le plus, je me suis presque fait harakiri parce que j'arrivais seul alors que j'avais réservé pour 2. Ce qui sauve cet hotel c'est son restaurant et son personnel, d'une très grande gentillesse et serviabilité.

ゴールデンウィーク価格で少しお高めでしたが、それ以上のサービス、料理が提供されとても大満足でした。湯畑には徒歩5分程度で行くことができ、硫黄の匂いも気にならず、とても快適に過ごすことができました。浴衣で散歩することができ、夜のお散歩は最高でした。また利用したいです。
