Hotel is conveniently located. Most everything is walking distance within the city proper. Trikes are easily accessible for longer distances. Reception staff were friendly but need to improve their skills in boosting tourism. It did not help that the hotel lacked brochures. I had to go the tourism office where I learned it was their old contact number that La Planta gave me . Happy to say that 5 stars go to the restaurant staff (excellent service & accommodation) and gardener (beautiful plants and flowers). While the air conditioner was old, it nonetheless kept my room cool. La Planta Hotel would get my 100% 5 stars if it were not for the en suite bathroom. The toilet seat was loosely attached, causing it to sway and slide when used. The shower glass enclosure was old and grimy while the sliding door would not budge so it had to stay open while I showered. The antiquated water heater didn't work at all.

Expensive and old hotel with poor facilities ”
For what you get and compared to bigger cities, it is very expensive and you don't get a lot for your money. This hotel desperately needs updating. I gave two star for facilities for air conditioner and safe parking. Both the mattresses were worn out completely and really hurt our backs. It like sleeping on a water bed and when we needed a hotel again we decided to go to dumaguete city as there are no other hotels in bais. Toilet flushing didn't work all the time and shower was not good.

Third trip to Bais Philippines and will only stay here”
I've stayed at this hotel three ones now. First time for ten days and then the second two trips for 8 days. Wouldn't stay anywhere else locally. Great staff, good clean rooms and perfectly placed in center of town.

Pleasant and comfortable”
Very pleasant. Need more energy and enthusiasm in the Dining Room though. Food was way too slow coming out - severely understaffed. Drinks are not replenished in the fridge soon enough - by afternoon consider yourself luck if you can grab a chilled coke zero or soda water from the kitchen fridge.

Disappointing”
This hotel has so much potential (with a few $$$$ invested.). There is nothing else in town. When we arrive there is no reservation. They finally found it under Hotels.com (what up with that Agoda??). Zero WiFi in room. None. Only place the wifi actually worked reliably was in the restaurant. 2 single beds. Good thing my wife and I have been married for a few years. TV is a 30 year old flat screen CRT Sony. Wife had a shower and the water stopped half way thru (guess who did not get a shower). The worst beds I have slept on in my 64 years. So soft you had no choice but be in the middle. Breakfast: instant 3 in 1 coffee and two fried eggs and bread. They just arrived at our table. We were never asked what type of eggs, etc.. We declined the free breakfast and ordered proper coffee and a proper breakfast. We won't be staying here again. Staff were nice (as are most Filipinos).

We didn't eat in the restaurant , the food was far too expensive , this is reflected in the people who went in . Our room was upstairs which was fine , unfortunately we had to carry our own luggage up the stairs as they didn't offer to take it up . The property is in nice surroundings & with a little effort could be made twice as good and the restaurant could be busy if the price were good . A typical example of this is Florentina Homes in Dumaguete , the restaurant has good prices and even outside people come in to eat , it is always busy ! Their room service upstairs is great .

Location is Great, but the Hotel facilities can be improved.”
We arrived the hotel around 4pm. We requested for a late check out the following day since we are going for the dolphin watching an we wanted to take a bath before travelling to Dumaguete. But we were not given that option since according to the receptionit - there will be guest the following day - which didnt actually happen. The rooms were vacant while we try to take a bath in the shower near the pool where you beg for the water because the water flow was so little. The room might be clean, but the bed will definitely hurt your back - its too soft and low and you will sunk in when you lie down.

Cute but noisy”
The staff was friendly and responsive. The rooms were ok for the price but the windows are not sound proof. the neighborhood is noisy with roosters waking you up and during the holidays loud firecrackers can keep you up at night.

Location is ideal, near the city and port to go dolphin watching. Clean rooms however brownout occurs from time to time. No hot water in the bathroom though.

A better hotel in bais”
Average. They need to improve the room ambiance and facilities. They should have a telephone for easy to order food to be delivered at the room. Uneasy at the restaurant, there are small flies and mosquitoes. They should be proactive in changing the room beddings daily especially if you stay longer. Overall, still to stay here soon.
