Perfection for our anniversary”
If you're looking for romance - this is the hotel for you! It was a perfect experience from the warm and professional welcome at the front desk to the characterful room, the stunning beachside location and the delicious cuisine. We could hardly fault it (other than the poached eggs being overcooked ;)). We booked a package that include an upgrade based on availability and were fortunate to be upgraded to a Garden Villa, since the place was quiet and maybe because they knew it was our anniversary! Lovely room with outside terrace and garden - though we probably didn't make the most of it as the beach and happy hour G&Ts were too tempting! We had a delicious and plentiful buffet breakfast each day, though I hear from friends they were doing a la carte early in the week as only at 5% occupancy. I'm sure that would have been delicious too. Dinner in The Peppertree was fantastic although it an be expensive - luckily we have an Accor Plus card so get 50% off. The staff across the resort, from reception to the restaurant to the beach attendants and gardeners were courteous and very helpful. I can't fault them. All in all an amazing stay and I look forward to another visit.

Excellent staff, great restaurant ”
My stay here was great so much so that I've tried to go back, but they have been closed due to Covid. The restaurant was really good, they offer a variety of dishes catering to vegetarians that are delicious. The gym, spa and beach were really nice, and all of the staff were super friendly and accommodating. I'll be back for sure as soon as they reopen!

The most pleasant stay we’ve ever had”
The time we had when staying in La Venranda was just incredible. The food was amazing, the private beach was stunning, the customer service was impressive (especially the cookies), the atmosphere was peaceful and fresh, and i had never seen any staff showing the slightest expression of bad mood. Superb hotel”
This hotel is immaculate set in beautiful grounds. The room was comfortable and the service was excellent in every aspect. The private beach was spotless and the sun beds comfortable it was a shame that the beautiful warm clear sea had occasional plastic floating in it.....the hotel staff meticulously collected what they could, Didn’t want to leave!!!

The hotel is well maintained, although not busy. 5 minutes walk and you are on the main road with lots shops and restaurants around.

The nicest hotel/resort on Phu Quoc Island period!”
French-owned La Veranda without a doubt is the classiest hotel/resort on Phu Quoc Island as of this writing. The other self-proclaimed 4-star hotels are more like 3-star. You can tell that a lot of consideration was put into its design including its size (it's a small resort) to make it more complimentary to the environment instead of sticking out like a sore thumb. It's a very nice place for honeymooners and couples, though there were more European families than couples when we were there in August. The beach in front of the resort has choppy waves, but warm and ok for body-surfing. The restaurant and spa are expensive, which is expected at such a nice resort. My girlfriend and I, who are Vietnamese and American-born Vietnamese, respectively, did not find the contemporary Vietnamese cuisine that good, especially for the price. Luckily, there's a 2-star Vietnamese-owned hotel just up the road called Eden, which has good and much cheaper (though pricey for Vietnamese standards) restaurant, so we ended up eating there everyday. We spent about 150,000-300,000 dong per meal for 2 people vs. 900,000 a meal at La Veranda. Also, at night, we liked going just left of the resort beach to this beach bar for drinks. They had little huts with red lanterns and had cheap cocktails - 30,000 for rum or vodka and some mixer. Bai Sao, the nicest beach on Phu Quoc is about 40-minute taxi ride (220,000-280,000 dong) from La Veranda, and has no resort or hotel, which is a good thing. It does have, however, a good inexpensive restaurant where we ate for 150,000-250,000 a meal. The entire establishment on the beach (restaurant, beach chairs, store, water activities) is all under one entity - Sao Beach Club.

Blissful and relaxing; away from it all”
I visited Phu Quoc Island with a friend. We were both in need of some relaxation and we couldn't have been more pleased from the moment we arrived at La Veranda. The Colonial design/concept of this resort was just stunning. The staff was attentive, and the rooms were perfect. The resort has everything you could want for your stay. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and beautiful with nice balconies. Both restaurants are excellent. The hotel can arrange tours, day trips, complimentary bicycles. Given how perfect everything was, I never felt the need to leave the hotel. Never have I felt so relaxed. HIGHLY recommend! The one negative experience I had was at the spa. I found the spa to be completely subpar for a resort of this caliber. It is clear the masseurs are not trained. Don't waste your time or money, just enjoy the beach, pool, restaurants, and hotel!

Exceeds Expectations - Wonderful Experience”
We were extremely pleased with our four night stay at La Veranda Grand Mercure in Phu Quoc and wish we could have stayed longer. Our positive experienced began with the resort shuttle picking us up from the airport and driving us to the resort. The hotel grounds were immaculate – no detail was overlooked. The resort had several restaurants, although only the main one was open during our stay as we went during the off-peak season. However, the variety and quality of the food was amazing… breakfast, lunch, dinner, and any of the buffet meals provided … we were only impressed by the quality and presentation of the food. The price of the food is probably pricy compared to some other local Vietnamese restaurants, however, we felt it was priced very fair considering the high quality and variety offered at the resort – we definitely were not disappointed.

Having been to Phu Quoc several times, my wife and I have always walked along the beach and imagined ourselves staying here. We are so glad that we did as La Veranda service staff were extremely welcoming and helpful during our stay and the rooms were a pleasure to stay in with the comforable bed, beautiful bathroom, and calming scent that fills the air. The hotel is very well designed overall, with amazing food served at the restaurant. Although we do recommend the night market for the experience, we couldn't help but stray from our tight budget and eat at the restaurant more than we should have. The beach is very well maintained and actually we found this to be rare on the strip as other resorts/hotels' beaches were lacking chairs and strewn with debris and garbage. When the water was a bit rough, the hotel's pool was a good place to hang out, although during our stay, there were a bunch of rowdy kids which made it difficult to find some peace to enjoy our time lounging. Overall, we would highly recommend this resort if you're looking for a beautiful resort on Long Beach.

Refined and Relaxing”
La Veranda is an expensive resort during the high season but I still believe it to be a good value overall. The property setting is is lush and elegant-reminiscent of a colonial era French villa. The service is attentive from the moment checked in to the moment you leave. (Which is always difficult for me to do.) The rooms are very comfortable and even though the temerature was on the warmer side during this time of year (Jan-Feb) I still enjoyed opening the doors to the balcony and sleeping in my canopied bed sans A/C. The dining is exceptional and the wine list is well thought out. The downside is that drinking and eating there can add up quite fast as it's pricey. There are many other dining options available just by strolling down the beach. The beach is nice but by no means the best beach on Phu Quoc. For that, head to the southern part of the island to Sao (Star) Beach.

An oasis in a developing paradise”
Phu Quoc is an island slightly smaller than Singapore. It is at the stage that Bali was around 1970 and is set to develop at a much more rapid rate. At the time of our stay the International Airport had been opened 3 months, clean and deserted. La Veranda is a sophisticated but extremely relaxing resort hotel set on the west coast (beautiful sunsets!) and playing host to a magnificent stretch of beach. The traveller's every needs are met by the extremely gracious and smiling staff members of La Veranda. Get there before the crowds - our estimate is within 5 years!

Great Location and service”
Our family had a 5-night stay at La Veranda and enjoyed every minute of our stay. The lush grounds of the resort provided a much needed relief from the heat and the restaurants were the best we were able to discover on the island. We went on the day trip to the resorts private island for a day of fishing and snorkeling. The day was perfect catching plenty of fish, great snorkeling and a beautiful lunch at a private beach, and not another tourist seen all day. Everything at the resort is more expensive than you would find at other places in Phu Quoc but in my opinion the quality of the service, food and the grounds more than justify paying a few extra dollars.

The la Veranda resort is a nice enough place, its looks like a colonial plantation converted into a resort, and is quite tranquil and clean, which is something compared to the rest of Phu Quoc, they go out of their way to rake their section of the beach to make it presentable. Its a shame the rest of the proprietors on phu quocs beaches don't do the same. The gardens are fragrant and well maintained, rooms and service is excellent, a good place to hide away for a few nights.
