Wonderful hotel in a beautiful location”
I wasn't actually expecting such an experience as we booked La Vista Highlands Mountain Resort. It is a wonderful hotel in a beautiful location, with amazing rooms and fantastic bathrooms, the pool area is beautiful and has nice little bar; it is hard to describe how wonderful this place is. There is a calm and beauty that is remarkable (except when loud outside guests with day passes arrive at the swimming pool). The views are wonderful and the gardens are extremely well kept, walking the grounds is a dream. Great breakfast, all the staff very friendly and helpful - excellent service. The owner’s sister Boot volunteered showing us around Bacolod for a whole day (watch out: they don’t have spare keys of the rooms, so make sure you leave your key with the hotel staff when you go out, allowing them to clean your room while you are out). I can recommend this to families as well as couples looking for a relaxing and very romantic break.

Say hi to Boots for me”
A fantastic short stay at La Vista Highlands. Boots your host is just one fabulous outgoing and friendly people you will ever meet. Great food Fantastic views from EVERY POINT. One of the longest zip lines across the whole mountain loads of fun. Definitely one of the best value for money resorts I have ever stayed in. (Inexpensive)

It was a great stay”
We had a great stay at this hotel. The place is so quiet that you can really relax in the view of beautiful mountains. I also love the room and its coziness. Thank you so much La Vista Highlands! :)

Location Location Location !!! ”
Commanding an excellent view over the countryside below, this is really an idyllic get away. The cool mountain ambiance of the place set it apart from any beach resort and in a class of its own. The Flora and Fauna are in abundance, but its the staff that add the icing on the cake, friendly, courteous and just add that something extra. I regret i only stayed one night, enjoying a good value for money meal, before relaxing from my long drive. Highly recommended and would most certainly stay again.

Great View”
Serenity and the breathtaking landscape are the biggest selling points of the resort. Also ridge villa rooms are artistically designed and well furnished. The staff are polite and helpful. Outdoor activities are available for the outdoor afficionados, like horseback riding and zipline rides. The temperature is comfortably cool and one may see early morning fog surrounding the resort and the valley below. Rooms are a little pricey, but well worth it.

Beautiful view”
The view of the mountains was incredible! But I didnt like the less access of showers and bathroom for 8people. For us 8, we have to share just one bathroom and shower. Upon checkin, we were not provided with house slippers, contrary to the signs posted inside. Also hated climbing the staircase (60 steps) going to the restaurant and to where our car was parked. We didnt park close to our villa because the area was too steep and scary to climb up that our pickup was sliding. Have to find a rock to provide traction in order for the stick shift to climb up the incline. The staff were so helpful, courteous and very friendly. Kudos to you all!! And thank you. I guess, we just have to adapt to the multiple ants, staircases and steep landscape considering being on the mountains. Overall it was a memorable and pleasant stay.

Stunning views”
Excellent for relaxation and the benefits of a cool breeze.Superb views. We stayed in one of the 4 bed villas on "Ridge Villas" - well appointed and good views. Quite a drive up from Bacolod - many hairpin bends. Roads are Ok but advise against it if your car isn't in good order for steep inclines! The car-park at the resort is laughable - like a steep mountain track. Unless you back in, which would be necessary from the road entrance gates, you then have to turn around within the narrow confines of the car-park. Most unsatisfactory which is odd, since so much attention has obviously been give to the design of the rest of the place. Restaurant - average. Mostly Filipino menu. Would have liked to see some Western dishes! Staff service generally good, although restaurant staff a bit slow.

Bad Start but Good Service”
The rooms (Africa) that I booked via Agoda takes 102 steps via stairs to reach, and it was really inconvenient since I had my mother with me. I was willing to pay more for the convenience of my mother, but I did not know about it when I booked the rooms. This inconvenience should have been raised by Agoda upon booking. One of the rooms assigned to us was not cleaned up and prepared when we got in. There was still a plastic of trash outside the room and the blankets were still not changed. Good thing one of the staff accompanied us so he was the one who walked to the front desk to have our room replaced. When I booked the room, I specified additional 2 persons; however, I still had to follow up the extra beds, and it was already 5PM. Service in the restaurant was good though. All the staff were very courteous as well. The 3 orders of pork barbecue I ordered were not hot anymore when they served it to us. Food in the restaurant was pricey given that the place is a resort.

Cool mountain air”
We slept well with the cool mountain air. We did not take advantage of the adventure activities. It is hard to find if you are driving your own car -- get good directions in advance!

Best Place for Rest/Recreation/Retreat :)”
My family and I went here last week. Weather is as beautiful as the place. Sunny but with cold winds! We had a lot of fun, just strolling around the resort, eating at their restaurant, and admiring the view from their deck. A bit sad lang, since my niece was expecting to avail of the horseback riding activity, but there were no personnel that time to assist us.

Nice room, Nice view”
We rented out the ridge Family room and found the room itself Beautiful. The view incredible. We usually splash out a tiny bit more to get a little better. However for the amount of money the room cost in comparison to every other place we've stayed I expected at least half the staff to understand English. So far it was the most expensive place we've stayed at as well as the only hotel we've been to where I've had to have my wife translate everything I've said from English to Tagalog. Pool is nice, nice and cool Mountain environment, food was okay but maybe a little under par.

Cool place, literally.”
It's on top of the mountain so it's expected to be cold. Worth the long hrs of travelling. I'm thankful for the staff who accommodated our food requests even when it was already late at night. Quite pricey tho, but yuummm. Thanks thanks!

A Hotel trying to cater for all”
We stayed here one night in one of the African rooms, the rooms are clean and Ok if not a little tight for space, the wardrobe is in the bathroom, so don't have the shower too steamy, its a long walk down many stairs to the African rooms so make sure you are reasonably active or you may have some difficulty getting back up the stairs, did not count them all but I would imagine over 70 to the room from the restaurant We ate the restaurant and the food was not good, chicken cooked so it was tough and pork burnt beyond crispness Breakfast was ok, wi fi was not existent until we were lent a pocket wi fi for 50 pesos and it didn't work everywhere Staff were good and helpful, pool is nice, music is played all day so don't expect peace and quiet, a little tacky with pool table and games Great location but a hotel that is struggling to identify what it wants to be

A breath of fresh air”
A great source of fresh air. View is magnificent. Rooms has no aircon but with ceiling fan which creates some sound so can't really get a good night sleep plus you can hear the birds chirping and the wind blowing as the rooms are not sealed. Had to open the glass door and only uses the screen door so air could come in but it has no lock so it makes you feel not so secured while sleeping. It was a holiday when we were there so there's a lot of day use guests which makes the pool and restaurants very crowded. They should provide an exclusive pool for in house guest. Don't ever pick an African room as it's 120 steps below reception. Enjoyed the cable car ride and kids enjoyed the horse riding as well. A great place to relax if not much non in house guests.

Beautiful views from dirty rooms & pool”
It is cold after sunset and during rainy days. Bring jeans & warm jacket. Be sure to request comforter for bed as they won't offer it at check-in. Unless you enjoy being cold! Check the shower for warm water as it likely will be very cold. Give them time to repair hot water if it even exists. Large black ant infestation everywhere look. Cob webs and large amount of dust with sucker bugs all over room. Bed & pillow hard so don't expect good sleep unless you prefer that. Pool cold all day so better make sure Sun is shining to warm you up. Windy cold location so if want to zipline wear jacket and pants. Food is mediocre and pricey. Staff smile and attempt too be helpful. Never saw a manager on duty. Family garden villas are a long walk down stairs and it appears lacking maintenance outdoors near there. Extra comfy and romantic large couch with overstuffed pillows under a roof was very peaceful as we gazed at mountain and hills. Just look out for gold long hair fuzzy worms.

We love the place and wish to stay longer but we have to go to Sipaway the next day”
Food in the restaurant is not cheap but worth the price. Everything is delicious. Staff are helpful and hospitable. The serenity of the place at night is what I like most.

Great place, view is amazing”
The room is a good size, the view from the balcony is amazing. The pool however is not heated and for me it is almost impossible to dip in. However, I saw few people swimming so obviously they dont mind but for me, I get cold easily. But imagine this location is quite high and temperature is low. you can see the fog in the morning and in the afternoon. For sure that is enough to make the water cold. Anyway, aside from that, everything is brilliant and beautiful in here.

Excellent”
Superb location. Rooms are very good, many with far-reaching views. Staff very accommodating. Take some warm clothing. It can be cool at night. According to Agoda, there were "only two rooms" available on the night in question. (Ditto booking.com and trivago.) I booked them but on arrival we discovered that there were MANY rooms available. I reported this to the reception staff. Potential guests might do well to phone the place.
