Exceptional”
The location is great with great view. There's a park right under you can even go take a stroll at the park. There are some mall right around the corner on the main street. We drove so it was very close but if you walk it might take 15-20minutes. I love the local restaurant you can basically taste the popular local foods there. The only cut back is the bed. Some are hard and some are soft. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom has big enough bathtub for comfortable salt bath.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The rooms are spacious and very clean. We love the location as our son likes to fish at Lake Biwa. It's convenient to get to Kyoto by train as they provide a shuttle to the train station near the hotel.

Lovely modern hotel with no faults except room too hot!”
We had a great stay - beds were comfy, room was spacious and the hotel is impressive. The hotel shuttle bus which runs twice an hour was brilliant as Otsu station is really too far to walk to, and the other station nearer (but less useful) is a 20-25 min walk away. Big supermarket near the hotel was good and there are a few places to eat nearby. View from the hotel of the lake is marvellous. The negative is that we were there on a hot weekend for February and the hotel is using its heating system at the moment, as opposed to air con. Of course, you normally want heat this time of year but even with the heating turned off the entire trip, we were too hot! We were sleeping in hardly any clothes with covers off and it was so unpleasant. The hotel couldn't supply us with a fan or anything. This was a big problem as windows cannot be opened. Sadly this did ruin our stay as it was difficult to sleep. Such a shame because everything else is really brilliant.

Be sure to book the lake side view of the hotel so you’ll wake up with the stunning scenery of Lake Biwa. Food and services were also commendable too. One of the best hotels in Japan for me.

Great view and location”
The Sky Floor Room had an excellent view of the lake and the city. Having the free shuttle bus to and fro the train station was on time and convenient. The newly renovated rooms were larger than other regular rooms in a Japanese hotel. Also, there is a big supermarket and drugstore right next to the hotel, less than 5 mins walk. So highly recommend to spend a night or two for a relaxing vacation with a view of the lake and the mountains.

The hotel is definitely a 5 star hotel. The view was gorgeous. the room was well kept, very roomy. Food at the hotel was expensive.. The hotel also provides free shuttle bus to local station. would recommend.

Exceptional”
What a great view from the 32nd floor. They shaped the hotel like a half a football so every room has a lake view. Great breakfast too. The bus shuttles to and from the station every half hour, exactly, like all Japan transportation. We were a minute late running, but he didn’t see us, so we went to 7-11, bought a melon pan and waited a half an hour. We did ride the taxi rather than wait when we left, it was 1250 yen to the Eki. On the train from Kyoto to Kanazawa we looked back over Lake Biwa and could see our hotel, highest structure on the skyline.

Rooms overlooking the lake let you see the sunrise and the sunset. The room is spacious with separate bathroom, the basin and toilet.

Triple room is fantastic ”
Happy to have triple room for us 3 ladies, very spacious with beautiful lake view. Since the hotel is a bit off the city centre, a big convenient store in the hotel. Extremely good for a hideaway holiday to relax.

The hotel is big and connected with a business building, so very busy. This is not suitable for someone that is looking for quiet and high level of privacy. There is no onsen.

Amazing views, breakfast could be better”
I love this place, will return many times. I recommend car rental to explore the area as the lake Biwa is beautiful. Breakfast was very crowded and coffee could be better. Spectacular view!! bring your bottle of champagne! the bar on roof top is often empty and very beautiful, kinda pricy but the environment is very pleasant.

One night trip w ny family. The hotel was really accommodating. First we put our # of people two adults with one child of 17. But not like US, Japan’s standard for child is 12 and under.... . Also due to heavy rain and flood in Chubu area, we could not reach the hotel as scheduled. Agoda’s customer service was excellent to help us and we will be using agora again. The hotel has beautiful lake view, a room is spacious, a bath room is Japanese style (bath tub plus washing area). A fridge and small sofa. We like to stay again when we have a chance to go Otsu area.

Nice hotel, wonderful views, good rooms but 2 big problems ”
We had a great room overlooking the lakefrom the 34th floor. Very nice room. Excellent value for the $ and helpful staff. Two problems inhibit my ability to recommend. 1) the room smelled of cigarette smoke. It didn’t trouble my wife but really bothered me. There was air cleaner machine in room that helped but.... 2) there is absolutely no place in the hotel to get a real cup of coffee until 10am. This is absurd at a major hotel! Anyone who doesn’t want to eat their large breakfast buffet every morning is out of luck. Several people were milling around the lobby at 8-9am looking for a coffee shop. Not good. Location is ok but you have to take taxis to get to rr stations or walk a bit. But the main problems were the cigarette smoke and lack of a morning coffee shop.
