The hotel was adequate for my week's stay on business travel. It was central to a lot of places, within walking distance. We also held a 1 day training for our partners there and the public places were clean. This was very affordable and I would definitely stay again for a solo traveler.

Lake view room not recommended”
Stayed in Lake view room, in the morning around five, I can feel the noise coming from a huge speaker set outside (around the lake) for morning exercise. For my next visit, I rather stay city view instead of Lake view.

Don’t stay here!! The hotel looks nice from outside, large and spacious lobby. However, the room was a nightmare. Bad smelling, super old. Firstly, the room, very old furniture, carpet, it looked very dirty. I got itchy when lying on the bed after shower. Maybe the bed wasn’t clean or maybe the water from shower, I don’t know. The bathroom was even worse, very old. I couldn’t sleep at night because of uncomfortable bed, noisy air conditioner (too old noisy sound all night). Crazy sound from outside. The hotel doesn’t have sound proof. It was very noisy. Breakfast was okay,.. limited option. Staffs were not so friendly. Generally I would never recommended anyone to stay here!!

What appears to be 4* until you enter the main entrance. No staff at the door to greet you or help with your lugguage. The staff don't mention about the complimentary breakfast time. Wi-fi is slow. Water takes a long time to heat up (10-mins!) Matresses and bedding were damp as if they did not dry them completely. Behind one of our night stand, there were a bare wires twisted together to power some lights. Cigarrette butts laid on the window ledge. They collected a surprise extra charge for an additional occupant for a room that has 2 beds so that I can remember them forever. Breakfast is not great either. I was stuck there 3 nights to assist my elderly Mom with her US Visa Interview nearby. It has great location but is far below a 4* hotel, would not reccomend due to unjustified high price and surprise fees.

i like this hotel has it is not far from the actions in downtown hanoi, the hotel itself is in a quiet street with a small lake behind, and many of its rooms has nice view on the lake side. it has a small shopping area inside the hotel. their breakfast has many choose and it is good.

Quite , good room, but far from any thing”
Good Front office staff but some time have English language problem. Have japanese restaurant but higher price . Breakfast room is clean with variety of food from bread,saland and Vietnamese food and nice coffee .Do not have Hotel bar or soft music lobby for some evening business discussion.Hanoi Hotel is nearby with some bar.Front road is quite dark with 2 small hotel near by .Have Vietnamese restaurand close by with variety of local food but staff do not understand English. Very small lake at back side and not that good view and some construction starting.Should not call lake side hotel as lake is not part of hotel.In Room internet service and lobby is quite fast .Hotel is very safe with a lot of japanese businessman and tourist .Recommend for business traveller looking for middile price accomodation.

Great Location and normal size room”
we book this hotel as we were looking for a quiet place to stay in hanoi. this hotel is not far from the most busy area, but it is a quiet place to stay a day or two. it is sitting next to a small lake, and some of its rooms has lake view. it has a nice chinese resturant with good seafood selection.

Comfortable ”
Revisited to Lake Side Hotel after 8 years ago. Is always a perfect location for business traveler or tourist. Renovation has almost completed and it looks better as compared to 8 years ago. However, the building still gave an old look but room and lobby have been renovated.

An older hotel, comfortable, but needs a makeover!”
Breakfast provided little choice for vegetarian hot foods. Old hotel,carpets are badly stained, wallpaper dated. Beds comfortable. Facilities in room are adequate. Quite a distance to travel to the Old Quarter but taxis are readily available and cheap.(all metered) No ready access from hotel to walk around lake.

Stay is comfortable. Room is clean and spacious. Especially love the bed and the extra large pillow. If you don't mind paying a little more, choose the lake view room, which gives you nice view of the lake. As for hotel breakfast ...... very average. About 15 mins walk to the nearest shopping mall.

You may choose this hotel as one of alternatives in case Hanoi Hotel has no room available. Looks old but well cleaned and nice room and building. And this hotel has no entertaiments in itself so you may enjoy a calm enviroment and be able to have good sleep.

Good hotel for the price”
I stayed here 10 years ago it back then it was very different. It was loud lots of people and a roaring night club. All that noise is gone. Its ok if you need the peace and quiet but a night its very boring. Nothing around the area and if you need a quick bite to eat, you still need to take a taxi. If you need to stay near this area, pay a little more and go for the Fortuna Hotel or the Hanoi Hotel as there are lots of food outlets and night life there. Overall, a very boring hotel in a very boring area. But, the rooms were clean and good value. I had a corner room and the beds are round. Kind of interesting.
