A short stay became a long stay”
We booked the Lakeside (Ven Ho) homestay for 3 nights, and after the first few hours we realised that it would not be enough. A combination of Hoi An and the lovely hospitable family of the homestay made the decision easy for us to extend our stay by another 3 nights, though after those extra 3 nights, we extended our stay yet again for another 3 nights! We really did love Hoi An, but I think we wouldn't have felt quite the same had we not stayed at such a fantastic spot. Phung and Huong were so welcoming and friendly to us. The location is around 2 to 3km outside the town center, far enough to give you some peace, close enough to reach town quickly with one of the free bicycles provided. You can also rent a motorbike from them for $5, which we did without any problems. They really ensured we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable, gave plenty of advice on things to see and do in Hoi An and in Vietnam. They included us in their lives and we shared the most delicious dinners cooked by Huong on two of the nights when she cooked. Breakfast was fantastic and they specifically made vegetarian options for us for both breakfast and dinner when we asked for it. The coffee is delicious. WiFi was fast, the large and airy rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday, showers were fantastic, aircon worked well, and there was a TV in every room. Our first 6 nights were spent in a room with a view over the river. Ven Ho is right on the river, and breakfast or relaxing is had under the shade of some palms looking out onto the river. There was a very cute puppy (for now) called Mimi. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and just thank the family for being so awesome and making us feel so welcome. We would love to come back to Vietnam and Hoi An and when we do, we will be staying here. Notes: - Our dinners cost $6 each - There is free water available - A quick cycle will get you to the beach - There is a nearby market open from 6am to 8am

Lovely place”
The location is quite good. It's away from the town center and close to the beach and you can reach to both of these places with the bikes provided by the hosts. The rooms were fairly laege and very clean and there is a big shaded chillout area outside to escape the midday sun. But the best thing about Lakeside Homestay were the hosts eho greet you with fresh fruits and ice tea. The hosts are always smiling and very helpful if uou need to organise your travel plans or planning a day trip nearby. The breakfast was also really good (especially the ice coffee). Because of these reasons we stayed in Hoi An much longer than we expected and really loved it. I would highly recommend Lakeside Homestay to anyone travelling to Hoi An.

Excellent accommodations”
We stayed at lakeside homestay for 4 nights. They are the nicest family and provided us with excellent advice on things to do in hoi an. They also provided us with free bikes to get around town. Both the town and the nicer beach are 2 km away, making it a nice location if you want to experience both. Excellent restaurants within walking distance as well. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious! The rooms were very clean and comfortable . I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect stay”
We booked for four days, but stayed more. Hoi An is a good place for relaxing, and Lakeside Homestay perfect place to stay. Close enough to everything by bike. Staff is extremely friendly, the room was perfect, quite new house with good aircon. Beach is appr 1,5 km, centre is appr 4 km, water coconut is appr 2 km, boating with the locals appr 3 km, ricepaddies appr 2-3 km, main harbour appr 3 km, Hungary appr 11.000 km :-)

No better lace to stay in Hoi An”
We have never done a homestay before and Lakeside was a perfect experience for us. The family were so warm and welcoming and made us feel part of the family for the time we were there. The location was great. 3.5km from the old town and on the outskirts of Hoi An but only 10 minutes bicycle ride and only 10 minutes ride from the beautiful beaches. The room was comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The food was also very nice and we had a cookery class with the family making spring rolls and Bahn Xeo (sizzling cakes). Our biggest regret was no staying longer.

Wonderful experience, wonderful family! ”
Phung and his family were truly excellent hosts and are willing to help you out with whatever you need. We originally had booked two nights but stayed for another two as we loved the place. They have a beautiful cafe area right on the river, not to mention the BEST coffee (Iced and hot) we have ever had! Phung told us, him and his wife used to own a coffee shop before opening the homestay. He lended us bikes for no charge and also had a complimentary breakfast each morning. This has been the best place we have stayed and would highly reccomend it! They also arranged a van to take us back to Da Nang airport for half the price of what we payed for a taxi when we arrived. The homestay is a 5 minute bike ride to the beaches and a 10-15 minute bike ride to the town center. Perfect location away from the noisy traffic on a quiet road! If we make it back to Hoi An again, I look forward to staying here again! Thank you Phung and your beautiful family for a great experience! Breandan & Candace :)

Lovely Family-run Homestay”
Lakeside homestay was a delightful experience. We were greeted warmly with tea and fruit and every time we came or left the homestay the family Who owns the place were very kind, sweet, and eager to help. Beautiful people, very comfortable room, with a good breakfast. Stay here if you like a Homey experience and would Like to meet some truly Kind and lovely vietnamese people.

Great stay amazing hosts!”
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Lakeside Homestay. We started with one day but felt so welcomed we stayed for another. The hosts took care of any problems we had and the room was the cleanest we have stayed at in Vietnam. They take great pride in their home as they should! The dining area is on beautiful water front and they even gave us free bike rentals. We would highly recommend a stay!

Awesome homestay!”
This homestay is easily the best place we've stayed at in Vietnam. We had planned on staying 3 days and we decided to stay an extra 2 days! The family is extremely welcoming, warm and helpful and the location (in the countryside close by a small river and at a walking distance from the beach) is perfect. We also used the free bicycles to go to town everyday (10 minute ride).The room was comfortable and clean and the food (breakfast and dinner with the family) was delicious. We also got free tea and fresh fruit every day. We felt so well taken care of and we could really enjoy our time in Hoi An.Thank you Phung and your lovely wife and kids! :)

like staying with relatives”
Its not a hotel but a welcoming private house with just a few rooms. Its a quiet place in a new house by the river. Rooms are on the second floor so never saw a mosquito. Its clean, owners are so helpful and can arrange anything for you. Food is good too. Grear value. They should put the price up. We stayed in 3 more expensive places while in Hoi an but this place will remain in our memories as a place like living with long lost relatives.

Lovely Homestay with such a lovely family”
We really enjoyed our stay in Hoi An & found this homestay very comfortable. The family & girl who works for them were so nice to us. They have a lovely terrace over the lake to enjoy breakfast or an evening drink. There younger son sang for us on our last night , which was very special.

Perfect!”
After six months of travelling SE Asia, this place was our favorite by far! We arrived to Hoi An at 6am, after totally forgetting to let the family know we would be arriving so early. No problem at all though; we pulled up and they happily greeted us and instantly had us sit down for coffee and breakfast. One night they even invited us to enjoy a seafood bbq with them and some other guests, it was wonderful! Everyday after using their (free!) bike rentals we felt like we were coming home. We cannot emphasize enough how wonderful this family and this home was. Definitely stay with them if you find yourself in Hoi An.

The best place I've stayed in Hoi An”
I've stayed in many hotels in Hoi An over the last few years, and this was my favourite. I will go there every time I go to Hoi An in future. If you want to just chill out, be somewhere where you can drink a beer and look out on the water, this is the place to go. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who wants five-star treatment or wants to go to night clubs and be in the centre of things, but for a person who is tired and needs a rest from the stresses of work this is just perfect.

This place made my stay very in Hoi An a great experience. It was situated in a good area not too far from the main center of town and close to the beach. The room was clean and cozy and very quite place, my first night there I overslept til 1pm because it was so comfortable. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Hoi An.

Owners are angels on earth, great value for money”
The owners are a married couple in their forties and incredibly kind and friendly. They cared so much about our well-being, it was out of this world. (Just one example: They welcome you to sit down as soon as you arrive and serve you some tea and a fruit salad. Then, they walk you through the basics about your stay and offer you to choose local food for breakfast. Now, even though they don't list milk on their menu, I asked if they had some - for breakfast the next day - I love cocoa because I hate coffee. The owner said she didn't have any, so I agreed on having tea. The next morning, not only did she serve some great local dishes... she also served me some great cocoa (not the kind made with water). She had gone to buy milk early in the morning, just for me... Same thing the next day. And when we checked out - you guessed it :) - I mean, sometimes they give you tea and fruit salads for free.. okay great - but this was even better.) Other than that: Very clean rooms (many far more expensive places are not even close to this standard), good location close to the beach (not so close to the city, but they give you free bikes in good shape), more quiet than most of the other homestays/guesthouses I have stayed in (because of fewer motorbikes early in the morning and fewer cocks crowing). 100% recommended! Do yourself (as well as these hard working people) a favor and stay at their place.

Awesome stay. The owner is kind and welcoming. He sat us down and helped us plan our stay in Hoi An when we arrived. The room is comfortable just without mini fridge. Will definitely return to stay again if I visit Hoi An.

The stay was great. Phuong and his family were very welcoming. He had knowledge of the area and recommendations of how to spend yours. It was very enjoyable. I would recommend if you want something other than a hostel or hotel that is located in a quiet area very near the center of Hoi An.

My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here. The family is extremely friendly and always made sure we were happy with the accomodation and our trip in Hoi an in general. Highly recommend if you don't mind a 15 minute bicycle to the centre. Traditonal meal for breakfast was delicious, thank you for everything!!
