I booked a single room here, in Block A ChungKing Mansions, because I wanted to see what the dormitory rooms were like, seem quite ok. I had changed travel plans, and was able to stay a night earlier than booked; Li’s Chain Hostel has replied via Agoda, agreeing that, and the Check in was very easy. I was offered a reasonable priced upgrade to double en-suite room, which had a window out, from the 3rd floor, above the big TV Screen in Nathan Road, view of iSquare

Pro: it was right at the centre of most tourist activities so there's a lot of thins to do and easy to reach tourist attractions and the place is budget friendly Cons: this is really only for people looking for a place to sleep, cleanliness rating shows why and so far the most you get for amenity is a tv but it dies have a lit more channels. In short you get the value for the money you pay don't expect a 3 star service for a 1 or 2 star price

BLACK MOLD POISONING! 黑霉中毒 After being tested at the hospital. We checked out a day early from Li’s Chain Hostel after 2 days because I was so sick from diarrhea, joint pains and severe headache. Room mirrors, drapes, tile grout, floor, etc covered in black mold 黑霉中毒. Talking with my attorney now.

Lot's of hidden charges at the hostel upon check-in. From 854.oo hkg our bills up to 1,270 hkg. They also asking for 1,000 hkg deposit upon check-in, rate on deposit defends oh how many days you stay at the hostel. what the heck. Upon booking the're is no selection of bathroom sharing. i book 1 room good for two persons with own bathroom. But upon check-in they are insisting that we choose bathroom sharing. The owner is not accomodating..

The receptionist has poor English communication and not accommodating at all. There are a lot of hidden charges. On top of HK$1167 I initially booked for, they added towel and service charge. Then to get exclusive bathroom (which doesn’t have a bath door), they asked me to pay additional as well. The total price I paid became HK$1190. The pictures they posted here is very misleading. It was ugly and unsanitary. Tsk tsk!

Such a bad experience. You need to pay 100 HK dollars for the deposit of the room key. When I arrived for the check in, I told the front desk guy that I would leave in the early morning and I needed to make sure there was someone there to give my key deposit back. He told me that there was going to be someone there, and there was also a phone number I could call in case there was no one there. In the morning I found the reception completely empty. I called the number but nobody answered. I took the paper of the reservation and wrote a note saying that I was going to come back in two weeks to get my deposit back. On the next day I even sent them an email explaining the situation. They answered the email saying that I could go back there with no problem that they were aware of the situation. Two weeks later I go to the hotel to find this really rude old man yelling at me, saying that they were not giving me any money, I even showed him the email that the hotel sent to me asking me to come back, and still he told me to shut up and leave. I have never seen someone being so rude and impatient. The room itself was quite dirty. There are many other hotels as cheap as that one with a better service in that same complex.

pros: location cons: super dirty and smelly room, shared bathroom’s lock and drain is broken. you have to pay extra HKD20 for the towels which are also dirty and with stains. most people that uses the dorms are Chinese that doesn’t understand the concept of solo backpacking and one of them even asked me if we can have s*x. just terrible. don’t go here if you’re a woman solo traveller.

Pros = accessible to MTR, Bus going to airport, shopping malls, bayshore, etc, staff is accommodating. Cons = so crowded, facilities in third floor is disgusting, exit is so dirty, room is not so clean, i catch a cockroach in the bathroom.

This place really sucks. Staff are super rude, the beds and bedding are disgusting, and I won't even mention how terrible the bathroom was. God have mercy on your soul if you book here. You might survive one night but you will probably regret it. I stayed at the New Guangzhou guesthouse in Chungking mansion on another night and it was infinitely better than this place. You've been warned.

The info posted on agoda is misleading. Maybe that’s why you opted to pay to the property instead of charging it via credit card. Will definitely spread word about how poor your services are. Even charged another 40hkd for taxes which was already included according to agoda.
