Great location as the second B&B after the shops end heading from Bowness up the hill to Windermere. Room was clean and had what we needed. Breakfast was fantastic and staff were polite and always happy to help. Would recommend

We had a great stay at Lonsdale House. Room was beautiful, was a little hot so could have done with a fan. The downstairs lounge was a great place to relax after a long day to grab a drink and read a book. Would defiantly recommend to stay here.

Nice staff and nice breakfast!!! Even asked us whether need extra toast. Big portion of English breakfast and free flow of drinks and some cereal. Before booking, prompt reply from staff on all my query. My group do have elder and infant, the only cons is have to carry luggage up the staircase. Overall is wonderful!

Very clean, very neat, well presented room first stay and would return. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The staff were very attentive at breakfast and breakfast was 5 star and delicious. Lovely view from room, room was decorated very nicely. Only downside for us which couldn't be helped was that the shower en suite was very small.

This hotel is not the level it's presenting itself ”
We had a 4 day break in Bowness at Lonsdale House with a really mixed bag experience. The staff were extremely attentive. They made us feel comfortable especially when we had our 8 month old with us. Location was perfect for us in the town and easy walking distance to all shops, restaurants and attractions. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. However our room was a big disappointment. We booked a deluxe family room with a cot. It was not deluxe or appropriate for a family. The tiny ensuite had a bricked in shower which was very difficult to use and no bath to wash the baby (we asked to switch rooms to have a bath - not possible - so got a baby bath to use). The room was tired and not well kept. The furniture and skirting boards were stained with tea or dirt. Our room had a make-shift 4 poster bed which was very wobbly. The room would've felt much bigger & more practical to move around if this hadn't existed! There was free sherry which was months old - so unnecessary. A big shame.

Nice hotel but creaky bed”
The hotel was nice and easy to find. Great location on the Main Street near shops and restaurants. The room was a nice family room, four poster bed and a single bed. Unfortunately we did not sleep well as the beds were creaky, especially the four poster we could not turn over or move an inch without it making a horrible noise. Breakfast was nice.
