Lovely resort ”
We checked-in during their low season (late autumn). Resort was quiet. Enjoyed the facilities with few stayers, most Restrauant were closed ivo low season. Only the plate (western) and Japanese Restrauant is available for proper meals. The village left opened for activities for playground, tubing, zip line and cycling. Resort provided shuttle bus, reservation required. Coin laundry is most convenient for stayers in Arai block as it is located at B1. Overall, enjoyed and was a pleasant stay

Relaxed vacation”
We are an English speaking family, so it was nice to have people who spoke English, But you will definitely need your Google translate if you do not speak Japanese. The food was great and the best part according to my kids was the evening pool party with light up globes and floats. I do wish that there was a better convenient store. But they did have some what of a convenience store there, with the basic items.

Non-ski period ”
Resort is beautiful, staff were very nice and she spoke English. Onsen was nice and quiet during the low season. Playground was chargeable. Room was very comfortable. Amenities were nice. My children didn’t want to leave.

Amazing place to enjoy the snow ”
The shuttle bus from train was easy and the driver was so kind. The front desk staff did amazing to make me feel welcome. The room was comfortable and spacious. I would stay here again. I recommend the zip line!! So many fun things to do.

Full Facilities Resort for Skiing ”
The hotel is cosy place with full facilities for ski in ski out facilities. The onsen is fantastic after the hard day on mountain. The staffs at Lodge are fantastic bunch who will go beyond their duty to assist the guest esp Scott at front desk.

We had a wonderful stay at Lotte Arai! pros: The staff were extremely attentive and helpful. Almost everyone could speak English so it’s easier for foreign travelers. The rooms were comfortable. The chicken at Jongno was amazing! The place is open til late too! cons: Food prices are what you would expect at a hotel like this but I can’t say the quality of food is worth it. Shuttle buses are a bit infrequent. The closest convenience store is at least a 15 minute drive away from the hotel so if you need anything best to bring it when you arrive. Overall the place is great and we’d love to stay again 😊

Room size is big”
Twin room has two supersingle beds, room size is big and has connecting room. Staff are friendly and helped to show the way when we are kind of lost. Onsen is big and fantastic. Love it! Has lots of activities for kids even there are no snow to play with when I was there on 13 to 15 Dec.

Wonderful Winter Resort with World Class Facilities ”
I really enjoyed travelling with my half-Western, half-Japanese family members. The bed/room size was fit for Western guests and the food was fit for Japanese standard (=High). We absolutely loved the Onsen but too bad the pool is for a fee. Snow condition was not good given the early season but that allowed for not-so-crowded resort experience. All in all, great place!

Very children friendly resort. I'd recommend renting a car at the JoetsuMyoko Station as they have free parking, much more flexible. The Zipline is definitely worth trying though it is weather dependent.

Nice resort but not enough snow”
We stayed for 4 days in late December. Unfortunately snow was not enough, and the beginner run and lift were not opened. A bit disappointed as the activities showed on the website such as pizza making and cake making were only provided during spring and summer. However, quality of food has been improved compared to our last visit in 2018.

Too early in the season, but there was snow!! The staff were extremely helpful, especially with my daughter's vegan diet. The restaurants were overpriced, but probably normal for a ski resort. Beds and pillows were the best!!!!

Very good”
The lodgings were spotlessly clean, and it was clear efforts were being made to keep things very clean during the COVID-19 outbreak. Loved the onsen. Rooms were larger than usual for JP. There were very few guests, which also made the stay quite relaxing. However, the staff turnover seemed to be high and many staff were dispatch workers so they couldn't respond to questions. The food was really a disappointment, except for the steak (which was very nice), and very, very overpriced for what it was. For lunch one day at the hotel bar I paid 1600yen and there was some unidentifiable offal in the curry, which was totally disgusting. The winery was the highlight of the food. I have seen some comments complaining about the mountain being an expert mountain, but that's the nature of the course. I enjoyed myself skiing very much, except for the one time they had to stop the lift due to high winds (this happens in the region, so please go to this resort knowing they have microclimates).
