Set amidst 170 acres of parkland, Lyrath Estate Kilkenny is located on the outskirts of Kilkenny City. It offers air-conditioned rooms, Oasis Spa with indoor infinity pool, leisure centre and 2 award-winning restaurants. Free WiFi is available throughout. Guests can enjoy a peaceful night's sleep at Lyrath Estate as rooms are soundproof and have blackout curtains. Each room includes a 43-inch flat-screen TV and overlooks the estate. The Leisure Centre boasts a 17 metre swimming pool, a gym, steam room and jacuzzi with a smaller splash pool for younger children. Oasis Spa offers a range of treatments, pre-booking of appointments is essential. Contemporary Irish cuisine is on the menu at Yew Restaurant which uses locally sourced ingredients while Tupper's is a traditional Irish bar which also serves bar food. Stayed for a quick 1 night stay. Pros: Great location, beautiful hotel, great facilities, good food, nice room. Cons: The TV channels kept going off, may have been a streaming issue.

Booking my stay I wrote on special request form that is my partner surprise present for his bday and would be nice to see some extra touch like nice view room or sth like that. What a disappointment! Hotel did absolutely nothing! Room Was ok but average, no view at all! Nothing... no glass of wine, piece of cake saying happy bday nothing! Room was way smaller to the one I booked as well. Very,very disappointed! Basically my request got totally ignored! What a shock when we found out that we have to pay to use jacuzzi and sauna! Going to use what they call “thermal suits” ( btw is nothing amazing about them) we found out we have to pay 30e per couple and book it day before! Unreal! As a quest you have to pay extra on the top of not so cheap hotel! Jacuzzi pool was nice but sauna wasn’t even warm! Only good thing about our stay was food! But there is no chance I would back there again!

The afternoon tea is definitely to be tried as a special treat. Breakfast is a fantastic spread as so much choice and fresh. Room 147 was a comfortable clean room with a lovely view of the surrounding grounds. It also is right upstairs from the gym and pool. Very close travelling distance from Kilkenny city. We would stay again.☺

A nice stay”
A nice stay but not what we were expecting. This is not a country house or boutique hotel. There is a country house but it is used for meetings etcs, the attached newer building holds the common areas which are nicely decorated and spacious. The rooms also in the newer part are spacious and clean but quite regular, possibly even devoid of personality, though nothing to fault. The grounds are large, it is quite and about a 10 euro taxi drive from the city. I would say a great family break - the spa was fabulous, Tom the porter super helpful. Possibly not the best option for a special romantic break or city shopping/restaurant break . An overall good stay though.

Hotel war ok. Sehr großes Wellnesshotel, etwas ab vom Schuss. War ok, aber etwas groß für unseren Geschmack. Lohnt sich wohl vor allem, wenn man auch Wellness macht.
