Weekend re treat”
Hotel rates are very expensive! Our hotel bill for three nights, including breakfast for two of the mornings and dinner for one night in the garden Room was just under £600. We arrived on the 13th of September as we were attending a wedding on the 14th and stayed an additional night on the 15th to celebrate our wedding anniversary and enjoy the spa facilities. The food was excellent, the staff were very polite and could not do enough for you. The bed in the room was very comfortable and everything was in the room that you could think of. The hotel grounds were beautiful and we'll maintained, not to mention the views of the loch. What an amazing place to hold a wedding. I also had a 25mins massage ( neck & shoulder s) costing £55. Again a lovely experience, but expense for such a short treatment. I could not fault the facilities, customer service and the facilities on offer. However, next time, I would book a B&B as other guests had done who were attending the wedding. Moira

Short chill out break ”
Nice welcome from reception staff ,room not ready but wasn't end of the world . Room was as expected and as expected via web imfo ,, small point bed and pillows were to die for very well slept . Public areas are pleasant within main hotel areas , spa was disappointing (jacuzzi out of order ) sauna and steam rooms adequate ,relaxation area lacking due to space allocated, ,pool very good ,sauna /poolside shower out of order , gym area looked very good .the small things in life can matter .with more attention to issues mentioned ,hotel would have received better review. Hotel grounds are beautiful ,views wonderful ,all things considered my wife and I had a lovely break ,shame spa let hotel down ,would say if all you would want is an hours swim spa is good but you would struggle to enjoy area for a few hours .Even with negative points (just unlucky wk we chose) nice hotel and staff .

Beautiful hotel in stunning location”
This hotel was lovely, inside and out. The views were incredible from their breakfast and dinner room. There was also a cosy lounge/bar room with drinks, comfortable sofas, and board games. Dinner was of good quality and decent service. Breakfast was overpriced for how much is offered, in our opinion. For a luxury hotel with access to spa/swimming pool, we were told that they would sell swimming clothes (as we forgot to pack any), but found that they were out of stock. Shame, as we were looking forward to the jacuzzi and sauna. Both bedrooms and bathrooms are of a large size, well designed, comfortable, and decked with all amenities. Really enjoyed our short stay here.

In search of nature bliss... ”
Thoroughly enjoyable stay after a hike in the mountains and the need to recover. The location is wonderfully remote - not the place for clubbers. Mostly families and kids - but good for couples. Rooms were large and spacious and in good condition. The hotel feels a bit stuffy, a bit like a mountain lodge - but then that is part of the charm. The restaurant food was very good -- all staff seemed to be Francophone. Maybe that helped. Wines were little known but surprisingly good value and taste. Nice to have a new Spa area with a decent sized pool (18m) and great saunas (steam and dry). Clean place and friendly staff. All in all a thumbs up experience, albeit the original building needs some urgent attention. Also, access via the car park is not the most romantic. But then, we survived and recovered form our hiking pains.

beautiful hotel”
we attended a wedding of a friend and thought the entine experence was wonderful. the room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. service from the staff was very helpful, and the beautiful views of the grounds and surronding areas, such as loch ard and beyond were breathtaking. i would highly recomend the hotel to others.

Spa break”
I came with a voucher to be used in the spa and the massage I had was very good. Barbara took time to listen and worked out a lot of those knots. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and the views are stunning. Our meal in the Garden Restaurant was okay, the staff there seemed less well trained.

Shocking”
Thought I would kick the start of our holiday with a two night treat... idillic after a 6 hour journey. Lovely surroundings, room lovely 👌 Was told when we got here that meals not available because there was a function on (no email advising me of this prior to arriving, booked a week or two before arriving) went to the bistro here to be told an hour wait, after 6 hour journey too long. Our meal in this lovely hotel tonight was a buffet of stuff we bought from the local-ish co-op. Can't stand the thought of staying another night because it's already ruined for me but Hubbie being optimistic says we'll still enjoy. So enjoy we will but it's not due to the experience of the hotel. Get yourself a tent and cook your own steak because you won't get even the £18 sandwich at this stable 😡

Very poor value”
Good points: They allowed me to check into my room early Beautiful grounds in a picturesque setting Plenty of parking Negatives: Paid £200 for a room only - it was very dated, slightly musty and overlooked the carpark. Should not have cost more than £90 in my opinion. Staff are not great, for a hotel like this I would expect polite service and not abrupt or unfriendly service. Room was about 100 degrees, no air con and no fan, I asked at reception and was told they had run out. Not even a complimentary bottle of water in my room. I have stayed at many hotels over the years ranging from 3-5 stars and this one is definitely not one I will be returning to - if you get it for a cheap rate the location is worth it but I would not recommend paying their peak rates.

2nd visit- disappointed 😞 ”
2nd visit to the hotel, this time we brought friends as first time was really good. Disappointed, the rooms didn't seem to be cleaned properly, bathroom fittings were hanging loose off wall, speakers not working! Breakfast was a bit of a disaster, service was slow, what was brought to our table wasn't what we ordered. My friend, who is pregnant requires egg done a certain way,we are still waiting for it! Tables that were seated the same time as us were still waiting to order when we left. Although most staff were polite, don't think a few off them understood what was being asked as English wasn't there first language. Also the staff member in the spa was rather rude. For the prices the hotel charge, would expect alot better!

A little disappointed”
Don't pay for upgrade - no visual difference to our friends "classic " room. £40 wasted. Our window was smaller - even the pillows on our bed were smaller! Don't go on a Monday. No pizza bases in Bistro. Had to go to third choice for wine because we wanted two bottles. Cheese board was double the size on the Tuesday night to what we got on the Monday. Buffet breakfast was good - except very tired strawberries. Cooked breakfast was very poor value for money. Staff were probably 90% foreign but tried very hard and were very helpful.

Disappointed!!!!”
Don’t choose classic self catering bungalow this really means dated decor , (cream wood chip walls, orange stained carpets , brown curtains ripped leather sofa and awful musty damp smell which means you have to open the windows ) take an air freshener . Good kitchen and comfy beds though but needs an overhaul. Outside building needs cleaned of cobwebs an spiders, gutters over spilling with moss so rain chucks down windows Good swimming pool steam room and sauna , gym small but ok if your into weights. Receptionist really nice and helpful with local knowledge. Most other residents in slightly better accommodation had issues with lifts not working an rooms and linen changed every 3 days but I noticed this is an outside company who come in . Good point- watching the deer outside your window at dusk Overall would I stay here again … no , not for the price we paid . Your better in aberfoyle.
