Wedding Anniversary Get Away”
The hotel is in a great location, right in the city centre, on the foot of the lake and 5 min walk from the lake cruise. We had booked a double room and on arrival we were upgraded to an executive double, which was more spacious, had a lake view and separate shower and bath. The hotel is slightly tired looking, creaky floor boards and carpet worn out in places, needs a little TLC, however it was clean, staff were very friendly and polite. Wonderful spa facilities, treatments are a little pricey, however I had a massage and facial which was excellent. Breakfast was included in our booking, which was fab plenty of choice. We booked for evening meals, which we were slightly disappointed because of the lack of choice. On the 2nd night we realised it was the same menu from previous night. There was a choice of 4-5 dishes to select from each section, starters, main course and dessert. However food was cooked well, I found the portion size perfect however my husband thought the portions were small. Staff managed the restaurant well under the Covid restrictions.

Girls weekend ”
Great night spent here, used the spa facilities and really enjoy the selection. Bed was like a marshmallow and pillow swallowed me up. Luckily we could open the window or it would have been quite warm. Brilliant location, lovely staff would come again!

Excellent unplanned stop over. Staff were amazing. Very clean tidy and respectful. Food was amazing. Setting of hotel beautiful. Would have liked a few more days there.

Wintertime break slightly spoiled ”
Enjoyed the Hotel, room very nice, did ask for a lake view however this was dismissed with no attempt on checking availability. Anyway room 17 was really nice, however when we retired to bed after a long day there was loud humming noise outside the window like a diesel generator, I contacted reception who informed us that our room was above the kitchen and this was part of the equipment though this was closing soon and the noise would stop, this actually stopped over half an hour later. So then a relatively peaceful night till next morning when the kitchen opened again and so did the loud humming, we had no choice but to get up. On checking out I mentioned the situation to the guy on the desk but all he could say was he would look into it. Not a lot of good to us as we were leaving, frustrating really.

Friendly Staff and beautiful location ”
From the Check in to check out staff was absolutely friendly and helpful apart from the night staff at reception. Check in staff with glasses on , I must say he really got some customer service skills. When we booked our room we booked it for 2 adults and a 12 year , upon arrival check in staff said it is a classic double bed room where you don’t get an extra bed but changed the room around and given us a room with extra bed and he was really helpful. Since there was no air conditioning in the room and it was a really hot day we couldn’t sleep well so deceived to go to reception for a fan(no fan found in room or cupboards),night staff said I will find one and will bring it for you but he never did, we had to sleep with window open where full of sounds from back yard and vehicles moving , moving bins etc. ( we kind of had 2 hours sleep). Dinner closes at 9pm so we had to go out for our meal. Fabulous hotel with some great staff but one staff can easily destroy your whole experience.

Fantastic location ”
Stayed here for 3 nights. The location is amazing, rooms overlooking lake Windermere. Breakfast was very good. The only thing that is extremely frustrating is the parking costs £15 a day. We parked in a lay-by near the Kia garage, around an 8 minute walk to the hotel which is normally vacant after 6pm. I would return to this hotel in the future.

The Hotel is tired and need of a full make over!”
I booked the hotel for my girlfriends birthday and booked based on the location and facilities. It wasn’t a particularly cheap stay for one night including the evening meal and breakfast. The hotel is in the heart of bowness and within walking distance to the bars and restaurants which was a massive positive. The hotel however needs a lot of money spending on it and is over priced for the condition it’s in. Food was expensive too. We also had to pay £20 to park the car even though it said the hotel had a car park. The staff where great and can’t fault their attentiveness however I wouldn’t return to this hotel due to its condition. Rooms where tired, dated carpets, in need of decorating. Chips out of the skirting boards, loose taps and a leaky shower! Hope the hotel take note of these reviews and act on them.

Not really value for money”
For over £200 per night in January we expected a bigger room with a shower that produced hot water. The lake view was great and the excellent pool why we booked. Better maintenance would improve rating.

Autumn stay”
The hotel is really good. I thought that overall it was slightly overpriced and I paid for an evening meal that was expensive. Other than that the hotel was good and they managed the covid restrictions very well

Disappointing”
We’ve wanted to stay here for a while but the room rate was prohibitive. Finally found a weekend deal which was comparable to other nice hotels in the town. Room was large but bed as uncomfortable. Hotel bar has no atmosphere and some staff are slow and lack customer service skills. Drinks are very expensive. Breakfast was acceptable but nothing special. Won’t be rushing back

Very tired 5 star but a lovely location. ”
I can’t understand how this hotel retains a 5 star rating. It’s too tired, evident lack of reinvestment and staff who all appear quite glum in their duties. Whilst a great location, the hotel is a disappointment when viewed from the perspective of a 5 star rating.
