A Pleasant Stay”
A nice boutique style hotel. They have gone for grey colours throughout, even painted the stairs grey, so a little gloomy especially as the room lighting is quite subdued. Reception service slow with only one staff at a two desked reception but overall a pleasant stay and would stay again.

Malmaison Edinburgh”
An excellent stay - we have been to the Edinburgh festival for over 20 years and this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Although a bit out of town it was very accessible for buses. Lots of good restaurants around although food at the Malmaison is also excellent. We would recommend the hotel to others staying in Edinburgh.

Great location . Great hotel. ”
We have been to stay at Mal Edinburgh many times over the past 15 years. It is a 15 minute bus trip to the city centre but there is everything you need in the Shore area of Leith. Fab restaurants, bars and a lot more peaceful than the hussle of the city centre. The hotel is perfect for a couples getaway. Fab boutique rooms . Highly recommended.

Excellent”
Nice, mildly quircky in a pleasant way. Good location, large pleasantly decorated room. Excellent and helpful staff, good breakfast. We had a relaxing and comfortably stay here. We mainly went to visit the Royal Yacht which was about a 10 minute walk away but much preferred the hotel's location at Leith to the centre of Edinburgh which we found too busy. There are good bus links to the centre plus a tour bus that leaves from the nearby shopping mall. Would go back again and recommend.

Luxury in Leith”
Love this hotel! This is the second time I've stayed here, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Service and facilities are top class. Location is perfect - Leith has loads to offer. Uber, taxi or bus go straight up to Edinburgh. Only slight negative is that there is no safe in the rooms.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Leith”
The hotel has been there a while and is popular with business travelers heading to Leith -- and for good reason. It's an excellent hotel, very professional staff and although it's pricey it often has good deals available. There are bars and restaurants close by and excellent bus links into the city.

Quality Leith Hotel”
The hotel is in a good location in Leith, easily reached from central Edinburgh on foot (40 mins down Leith Walk, lots of pubs to stop off at, so give yourself a few hours if you are that way inclined) - or there are plenty of buses and taxis. The area is quite gentrified, with lots of pleasant bars and restaurats to enjoy (some of them a bit pricey). There are also a few more traditional places round about if that is more your thing. There aren't really many attractions as such (except the QE2, harbourside etc) but the area is very pleasant just to wander about.

Seaside Edinburgh boutique little charm”
We arrive by driving but the little road to the front door is not so easy to find. Luckily there're plenty of park spaces right outside and behind the hotel. Smooth check in but we found no towels in bedroom. But quickly solved by attentive staff. I loved the coziness of the room and the hotel itself. Situated nearby the sea i can walk around the canal while convenient store is just steps away. Even on days I didn't drive to explore Edinburgh, there are frequent bus line going from the hotel to the city centre.

Great Rooms, Delicious Food”
Lovely spacious rooms. The hotel in general was clean and to an excellent standard. Beautiful location in Leith, within walking distance from a few nice restaurants and pubs. Its also just outside the quay which was just lovely to sit outside and watch. We didn't really have much contact with the staff, but they seemed polite during dinner.

Doug & Lorraine”
Did not dine in the hotel apart from breakfast, so can not comment on standard of the restaurant, bar prices should be more competitive as quite expensive! Taxi fare to the center of Edinburgh was a reasonable £10.00 including a tip. All in all we enjoyed our couple of days at Malmaison.

Quality hotel in a trendy location.”
Located an easy bus ride from the city centre this hotel is set in the trendy old docks area. Plenty of nearby restaurants offer good choices to eat if you wish and the excellent, regular and cheap bus service takes you into the city while you take advantage of a rare thing in Edinburgh - a hotel with plenty of free parking. That's what attracted me and I will happily return.
