The best hotel location in Bandar”
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some of the fittings and furniture have become a bit shabby, but the beds are very comfortable. The setting is its biggest asset. It is one of the few Bandar hotels that has a good view, with mangroves behind, a broad river in front, and a long green jungle island on the far side. Worth a return visit.

Quiet and enjoyable; interesting surroundings”
Our stay here was pleasant. Staff were generally attentive and helpful, and the food, although it was basic, was cheap and tasty. The views from the chalets were great, looking out onto the water village on the opposite side of the river. The best bit was viewing a big thunderstorm from the veranda looking out onto the river. There is not much to do around the area, so I wouldn't come here specially, but if staying in Bandar Seri Begawan this is a peaceful place to stay.

Great Location”
The resort is in a great location on the river side where the wooden walkway canopies on the water where you can look down and even see the little fish swimming around. The room has a balcony with beach chairs where you can sit and enjoy the river view and just quietly relax. Too bad the hotel is not well maintained and the rooms are not in very good condition

great fun getaway with Family”
we stay for 1 night only, the moment I walk in to the house, I feel like walking into a real kampong house, very spacious and clean, we had our family gathering there and its perfect for family to have event when they dont want to do at their own home, the master bedroom is very spacious, the kids and nieces really enjoying themselves with the jacuzzi and swimming pool.

A location with fantastic potential!”
A superb location. This place could be marketed to be a very profitable business due to its fantastic, peaceful location. The main attractions - swimming pool is lovely, clean and well maintained and the restaurant service good, staff friendly and efficient - local tasty foods/fresh fish only available on the menu. On querying opening times of the spa was informed that it was now closed 'but you can use the pool'. Reception staff need a course in customer care. Really could not be bothered apart from taking BN$ 60 as a deposit on checking in. Fridge in the chalet did not work. On check in I was handed in a wallet with the key and remotes for A/C and TV - the TV remote batteries were dead. It is unfortunate that an establishment in such a beautiful location is not managed/run within standards that would reflect the image it deserves. The Bruneian government is calling for promotion of tourism - this again is another example of how they just are not equipped to run business here.

Experience at Mangrove Paradise Resort”
there was no wifi service provided in the rooms as promised or advertised. wifi only available at restaurants and offices, however with poor network signal. the breakfast provided was not up to expectation. usually breakfast would be buffet style and you are allowed to eat without limitations. however, here the breakfast provided was based on the menu and only 2 sets were allowed to choose. the food would be at average taste. the towel provided by the resort was not good enough at it causes some skin allergy.

It was alright”
It was averagely pleasant and the seaview is spectacular! Facilities were good and the large verandah was a great bonus for family-bonding time. Room and washroom were less spacious- it can be challenging to extra full sized individuals. Would less recommend it for families with early toddlers due to safety issues. Less friendly wi-fi connection. Room service is almost un-operational at late night.

Suits perfectly for a quite calming getaway”
Dislikes: Fishy smell fridge.Probably the previous guests kept their catch from the river in there.Shower is too small.Mind you not to put the trash bin at the veranda as ours was trashed by the monkeys.Apart from those, everything else was lovely except for the so-so breakfast.

A two star for a four star price. ”
The novelty of being accommodated over the water (river) soon wears off once you get "I don't know" to every question you ask of staff, including the information desk attendant who had no information, the bed that came straight out of the Flintstones (made of rock - we thought it might have been the base without a mattress), the green pool, the pathetic breakfast and the general run down feel of the place. Was probably once quite a nice place but that now seems to be a long time ago, but still costs so much more than the great Star Lodge we stayed in for the other two nights we had in Brunei, which had helpful staff, all facilities and transport options.

OK for quiet time.”
Could do with some improvement. E.g. toilet/shower have slippery tiles. E.g. could do with a door betw chalets for privacy. E.g play area at restaurant very dirty.

Dirty and rundown”
Firstly, there was a used towel in the bathroom, hanging behind the door. The shower was smelly and toilet scum was so bad I wouldnt put any of my toiletries on the counter. Beds felt damp, towels were thin and worn out, pillows were thin (only one per bed). No wifi in room and no hairdryer. View of the stretch of the river was blocked by the wall separating the chalets.
