Old hotel with ski-in ski-out facility”
The first thing I noticed in my room is the smell of the toilet. Probably because of the sulfur water, but you need time to adjust to the smell. The room is pretty old but everything is functional. The ski facility is great for beginners and even after you check-out, you can still ski and use their outdoor onsen before taking the bus back to Karuizawa station. Will definitely come back.

It was a good vacation. If you like quite place, this place is fits for you. We like the public bath but there is a man not using his towel.. I feel awkward when I saw him nude. I’m with my husband & never mind that. The food was great also room & bath is clean except the chair in the table but it is acceptable. We will be back again ❤️

Very inconvenient to stay and access. ”
The first thing when I check-in at hotel is asking for shuttle bus to Karuizawa bus station in the day I leave but staff told me “Sorry , Fully booked !!!!” I have to take local bus instead that took about 2 hours with 2 big luggages!!! Very difficult for travelers. There were 3 restaurants in the hotel but not opened in afternoon (2 am). Onsen is good quality of water and stunning view. Suit for anyone who loves skiing. But not for who needs relax because the route to get in and out hotel will make you feel too tried.

It’s nice when still have snow because of the nature trees. About the hotel is too old and dusty room and have of bad smell in the room. There’s no air cleaner inside the room. No compliment of water and coffee. The onsen is not clean. NEED TO IMPROVE CLEANLINESS all the amenities. The breakfast and dinner is GOOD there’s a lot of choices

Outdoor Onsen is awesome!”
We did Onsen in the snow at -10 deg cel! The outdoor Onsen has a great view and truly a great experience. Manza is also the highest Onsen at an altitude of 1800m. It also has a Ski slope right at the backdoor, hence its very convenient for those who wish to do snow sports. However, one minus point is the cleaniness. The room we had was a smoking room and they did not have other alternative. So we had to live with stench of tobacco for a day before we managed to air the room and flood it with deodrant. If you come during winter, be prepared for snow storms in which you will be stranded in the hotel. The senery is good around Manza, hence its great for hiking. But some roads are closed during winter, and hence you won't be able to get through. The overall experience was great.

Excellent open natural onsen”
I went to Manza because of it's famous onsen. I really enjoy it especially it is in open air and next to the cliff where you can enjoy an unobstrcued view to the sky resort cabins in afar. It was very very cold and snowy when I arrive, must be -15 C. But you don't feel the cold when you are soak in the onsen and your head will be covered by snow. What an experience.

I stayed here for a night (2days trip from Tokyo) and was really impressed by the facilities provided by hotel. Outdoor onsen is so nice and a must! there are indoor and outdoor onsen, separated gender. I love the outdoor one which is surrounded by snow in winter, beautiful scenery and so relaxed! Try in the afternoon (when most people out for skiing) or late night and you will enjoy private onsen. hotel also provided free shuttle bus from Karuizawa station which is very convenient and save a lot of money (unfortunately it was fully booked from Karuizawa to hotel so I need to use public bus instead). more info can be found from hotel website. I booked through Agoda and the price is really good!

Fabulous hotel location but quite a trek to drive up. Try not to drive at night as it is very dark and very high up. A lovely view in day time and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is lively and has a nice, quiet bar for the evenings. I would recommend :)

Beautiful Hot Spring”
This is one of the most beautiful hot spring I have even visited in Japan. its tug away in the suburb of tokyo approximately 1.5 hours by bullet train. Access to this hotel is quite inconvenient from the nearest station owing to the fact that the hotel only provides limited shuttle services. (2 times a day to be exact). If you missed the shuttle, you may have to take a bus to the resort which will cost you easily 16,000 Yen per person and for a 1.5 hours ride. One of the plus point of the hotel is the ski facility and outdoor hot spring. The Ski facility is attached to the hotel and you can access to the facility anytime of the day. The outdoor hot spring is a mixed-sexed bathing with breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. With proper planning and booking the shuttle in advance will definitely make you trip more pleasant and stress free.

A romantic getaway”
The only drawback was the food. We only had the Buffett dinner and food was bland. A bit overpriced for what it is. Alcoholic drinks not included on set price

the restaurant in the hotel is very expensive. the tempura set have shrime 1 pcs. 2200yen and we can not go out to eat somewhere else for the night.
