Maria Cristina Hotel is an iconic structure in Iligan City built in 1972. It may be old, but for me it carries a lot of memories. For many Iliganons, it is one place where many memorable events in the lives of our parents who were once part of NSC (National Steel Corporation) took place. The hotel is accesible by all kinds of transportation. The old market is just nearby where you can buy fruits in season at a super low price. 7-11 convenince store is just around the corner. The staffs are friendly and accommodating. It feels like home away from home. The rooms are newly renovated and spacious. Air conditioning units are new. It is really value for your money... When you are in Iligan, come visit Maria Cristina Hotel and have a feel of what an Iliganon hospitality is like.

When booking I was apprehensive because of previous bad reviews so my expectations were not high. However, there has been a determined effort to renovate and upgrade facilities. But remember the hotel was built around 1970 so the hotel is old. I was upgraded from single room to twin because the single rooms were being renovated. So I had more room than expected. The most important things for me were there. Comfortable bed, fresh and clean linen and towels. Efficient aircon, cable television and clean room. The shower always had hot water even though the taps were wonky. The location was very good in the old part of town and the reception staff were accommodating. So overall I enjoyed my stay, pleasantly surprised. I would stay again.

Maria Cristina Hotel used to be luxurious back when I studied in Iligan 10 years ago. We actually had our graduation ball there. Sadly, the hotel aged. The staff are polite and very accomodating. We took the twin bed room and the price is just right for it. Rooms are well maintained but I can't say the same with the hallways and the elevator. The hallways are dark and the elevator could give you a headache. Perhaps, the hotel has not keep up with the latest hotel trends. There's no WiFi by the way, so sorry to all millenials and Gen Z out there. You just have to depend on your mobile data. The meals in their cafe are a bit costly or maybe that's just the standard hotel price. Php180-Php200 for a breakfast meal (corned beef or others, banana, rice and egg and then coffee). But I'd still recommend the place if u ever need a place that is accessible to almost all city destinations. It only takes a few walks from there to church, market and other establishments. 😊

My stay was good. The staff esp. the receptionist was very accommodating and allowed me to have early check in and extended checkout time with a waived fee. The only downside was the water pressure since I was in the 5th floor.

Best of a bad bunch”
Iligan has a poor choice of hotels, either low-end, or reasonable, but charging twice what they are worth. With that said, the Maria Christina is a large hotel in the centre of town, with large rooms & well-trained staff, at the promo rate of P1100 for a double. There are no tea or coffee making facilities, but the staff will bring you a flask of hot water promptly. There is no Wi-fi. Beware rooms overlooking the park on weekends, as there may well be an early morning Zumba session. Al in all - recommended over alternatives in the city.

my regular hotel was fully booked so I ended up here as a second choice. I would now consider this a first choice for future visits to iligan. their executive suite rooms are huge. a bit old but well worth the money.

our stay at maria christina hotel is not good because at first the room boy gave us the newly painted bad smell paint, and afterwards he gave us another 1 wk old painted room but we have no choice but to stay for 1 night

It is an older hotel and it could use some repairs and sprucing up but considering the environment and all of the other things that are going on in this country it is a very wonderful place but what really made it special was the people they bent over backwards to make me feel at home and it was just a wonderful experience I will come here again
