Disappointed”

I really love Marlin Apartments but was disappointed in the Canary Wharf site. I was on the first floor and it was very noisy during the night immediately outside the hotel. It was very warm but too noisy to open the windows. It is in a backwater and I felt nervous walking back at night alone. There was no cafetiere and when I asked the housekeeper was off with me. I also only had one set of towels ( and then discovered that the spares were in a mirror cupboard which was flush with the wall so struggled to find. Needs a note to say that towels behind the mirro.

marlin hotel apartment - my worst night mare”

Overall the stay was pleasant. However the staff was very unpleasant. I had a pre-paid booking, despite that they demanded GBP 60 for 30 minute early check in, despite me calling them before travel and informing them of the same. However after 10 minutes of arguing considering my journey of around 4000KM's I decided not to argue any further and agreed to pay them GBP 30, after which they left me to it, and let me check in. However another member of the staff did come by to visit me and apologised on behalf of the Manager who she also found very insolent, rude and abrupt. However I must say the room was comfortable with all necessities being available including the central location within a very short walk from the Canary Wharf Station. THis being said I believe there are many other places which are better than this at much cheaper prices, within this area. it is not good value for money.

We we're moved 3 times before getting correct room”

That we only stayed two nights, nice view, soft carpet

The stay was not fantastic. Apparently our apartment on Canary Wharf had "maintenance issues" and we had to be moved to another part of town. Upon arrival there it became apparent they had sent us to the wrong location and we had to backtrack to a third complex. We got a larger apartment for our trouble. It had just been painted and the fumes caused headaches.

Poor customer services. ”

Booked on the day due to an emergency due to travel choas after Storm Doris hit the UK. After the trauma of the day we were told on arrival 11:30pm that's they hadn't received any communication from Agoda and my booking had my been confirmed. Even though I showed them all the email confirmation about my booking and payment. They refused me a room and said the were fully booked (after telling me when we greeted they had lots of cancellations due to Storm Doris). I had to contact Agoda and they then contacted Marlin Apartments. Eventually they offered me a room at 12:25am. They cause is more stress when it seemed like it all could have been avoided.

Was a good location with good amenities, not far to station, but you do have to pay for parking which it doesn’t state when booking. The apartment was clean and has everything you need for a couple of days stay.

Disappointed. ”

This was our second visit and I’m not sure we would come back again. At 11pm someone tried to get into our apartment. We then heard someone on the floor above so sssume they had the wrong door. But it was very unnerving. The people above then proceeded to have an argument/fight that was so loud it woke our son who was very upset. After becoming concerned that a woman was being attacked (screams and loud bangs) we alerted the front desk who sent security. The security guard was reluctant to do anything and in the end my husband had to go up to check if everything was ok. The road outside was extremely noisy with cars driving up and down beeping horns and revving engines until early hours. It didn’t feel like a safe place to be with a young family. There was also damage to a door handle which has been badly repaired and could have left us locked in if the handle had come off. There was no hairdryer and the shower in the ensuite had a blocked drain. All this for £190 very poor.

Awful place”

Location is opposite s council estate outside Canary Wharf. Staff rude and unhelpful. Wifi slow. No iron in the room despite asking for one many times. Mattress made of cardboard. Council estate opposite rowdy and noisy and prevents a good nights sleep. The apartment smelt stale and the pots and pans were covered in dirt and sludge.

It was great, however not adequately staffed and location isn't great. No food service available so can't really be a 4 star hotel. Hotel is expesive and little overrated.

Disapointed”

Location,location,location

The apartment was overpriced, no hairdryer, toaster was broken, the pots and pans need replacing and have been overused didn't feel like using them, there were little spiders crawling all over one window, there was no mirror next to a chest of drawers or any socket where you could dry your hair. Parking is extra charge, no house keeping or cleaning service everyday. This apartment is in the heart of the business district yet we couldn't find one pen or pad to write on, no business facilities, it really should have a corner with a table as an office set up. The shower isn't accessible to give little kids a bath it's stuck to the wall so cannot be flexible and take off to wash kids. Overall we won't be using these apartments again.

Awful”

I stayed with marlin at the weekend but am very unhappy, first I’ll start with how hard it was to get to the car park on a very busy blocked up road my partner had to drive up and reverse from the car park on a busy road and ended up damaging his car on the low wall they have either side of the car park entrance, I then got in to reception to check in to be told there was no rooms available ( which is absolutely ridiculous seen as I booked the hotel and paid for it and rang to confirm my room which was meant to be a one bedroom apartment with a balcony (apparently its first come first serve even if you book in advance so someone got there earlier and got our room) . I then waited around for nearly an hour (an hour less I was in the room). To be told there was no rooms available and that I would have to stay somewhere else the man and woman at reception rang around every other marlin to be told there was no rooms anywhere.

Average standards, deposit of English Pounds 200 is considered excessive. They must provide slipers and safe in the room. All other as expected. A later check out can be convenient for the traveler

Old, Slow Internet (~500 kbps) not gd for video”

5 to 10 minutes to South Quay or Heron Quay DLR train.

Had a few unpleasant encounter. First night no electricity for the fridge. The poorly designed bathtub caused me to slipped and fell the first time I step on it. No refill of shampoo or soap. Only complimentary for your firs time check in. There are no way to control the room temperature. If too stuffy, you can open window. Everything is old. Size of studio is acceptable, not too small. Automatic sensor lighting make the apartment an eerie place to stay. At night once the lift open, it's almost pitch dark. Lights will be turned on after 3-5 seconds.
