Large modern rooms but AC needs upgraded”

Really nice, modern hotel. Good location. Courteous, attentive staff. Our room, including the bathroom, was quite large. Unfortunately, the AC didn’t work very well. We had it set on the lowest temperature (20C) with the highest fan setting all night. It never got below 23C. That’s just a bit too warm to get a good night’s rest.

A hotel for business types BUT...”

The breakfast was great, but the most important surprise is the hotel has a restaurant that is open for lunch and dinner as well. Unless you have a car, there aren't a lot of dining options around Matsue station. That said, there is NO spa facility, and the hotel goes through a big deal about "green stay" when it's just a ploy to save money, i.e. daily fresh linen option. Also, you have to pick up certain amenities like razors, bottled water, Q-tips, etc. downstairs. I can understand wanting to cut costs, but it doesn't mean I like it. Really, are guests taking these items when they leave?

Matsue Excel Hotel Tokyu is conveniently located across from the Matsue Train Station and several shopping areas. Car parking does cost ¥1000 per night.

Transportation to Matsue itself was not convenient, but the hotel was located across the street from the Matsue JR station and within walking distance of the AEON mall. That makes eating and shopping very convenient. ALso within walking distance of key sightseeing spots like Matsue Castle, ShinJi Lake, etc.

Excel should be Excellent”

The rooms were the largest we’ve stayed at in Japan. Clean and comfortable rooms. They provided four bottled water everyday. Their dinner was “kaiseki” style and was excellent. The buffet was pricy but not as good as the menu dinner. Strongly recommend this Excel-lent Hotel.

Right across from the JR Station!”

Although renovation was going on we felt very comfortable in our room. We couldn't open our windows for the first time on the trip and that was a bit claustrophobic. But room was spacious in Japanese hotel room terms. The restaurant was also being renovated so they had a breakfast in a meeting hall. The food was fair. 2nd time I have stayed at this hotel. Good value.

Schönes Hotel , sehr nah an Bahnhof, Zimmer gut ausgestattet. Wir hatten ohne Frühstück, da es ziemlich teuer im Verhältnis war. Es gibt am Bahnhof ein Kafee

たまに泊まれるホテルだからこそ、ホテルの夕ご飯を食べてみることをオススメします。ここのホテルのご飯は美味しくて、定価4,000円では足りないぐらいの質でした。 御膳を頼みましたが、山陰の食材が使われており、地元の野菜を楽しむことができました。また、容器の形や運び方からのテーブルの上への載せ方によって、食事が届いたときに感じるワクワク感が半端なかったです。

旅２日目に滞在、広くて寛げた”

お部屋の広さ、バスタブの大きさ、洗い場の大きさ、ツインベッドの広さ、寝心地の良さ、部屋の清潔さ、清掃スタッフの接客にも満足でした。アメニティやお水はフロント横から自由に持ち出せるスタイルだがシャワーキャップやバスソルトが無く残念。朝食はバイキング式目の前で焼いてくれるオムレツは、リゾートホテルか？と一瞬勘違い、美味しかった。のどくろの干物はリリースサイズ、サラダの種類多め、デザート少なめ、レストランスタッフの気配り良かった。グリーンスムージーなどドリンクの種類多く充実していた。
