Extremely close to Matsue Station”

Located just right behind Matsue Station (1 minute walk across a small road and a small car park). The hotel may look a little old but is clean and has everything one needs for a comfortable stay. Staff are friendly and you can store luggage for free.

Location is definitely the strongest point of Matsue Plaza Hotel, which is just across a rather narrow street from the Matsue JR station. One day we cut it really close and were still waiting for the lift in the hallway of our room's floor 4 minutes before the departure time of the train we wanted to catch. But thanks to the hotel's proximity to the JR station, we managed to get on that train with a bit of a brisk walk. While the twin room we stayed in and its bathroom were rather small with a dated design and central air-conditioning that did not give us too much room to adjust the temperature, the two twin beds were nonetheless very comfortable with their quilts. Also, the young female staff member who checked us in and returned our luggage to us was particularly warm and courteous. Overall, I would say Matsue Plaza Hotel is still a choice worth considering.

Affordable and Excellent”

Great 3-nights stay. The room is cleaned everyday, they also change the towels, glass, bathroom mat, and yukata (no need to bring your own pajamas!) daily. The staff are all nice, they speak English and you can store your luggage before check-in time. The tap water is drinkable and actually tastes good. The location is superb, Matsue Station (train/bus) is literally in front of the hotel :D

Good hotel right across street from station”

We stayed here three nights. It's a pretty good hotel -- toothbrushes in the room, vending machines just down the hall, and breakfast available for a fee. The location was great, as it is just feet away from the main Matsue station. There are several restaurants nearby, including a good chain izakaya next door.

Simple. Comfortable. English speaking friendly staff. Had everything I needed for a short stay. Near the train station and Aeon shopping center. HIGHLY recommended!
