This hotel has a lift but they not allow customer to use it. My room is on 5th floor so I need to walk up and down every time. Too bad.

Good value hotel with clean rooms, Perfect location”

Room was as expected; quite small but large enough for a couple of nights for the price. Bathroom is smart and clean although the water pressure was quite low. Toilet paper dispenser is hard to use as toilet paper falls out when dispensing. No mugs were included despite the good range of complementary tea bags and coffee. Tv does not have HDMI available for use which means TV sticks cannot be used. Plugs/outlets have USB ports which allows easy charging of devices whilst leaving other plugs free. There were 3 outlets in the room so enough for all devices. Room has air con and was a good temperature despite being middle of summer. Everything was clean and free of dust or signs of previous use. Beds were surprisingly comfy despite the shallow mattress. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Unsure whether the water in the rooms is drinkable but there is a tap in the corridors for filling up bottles. Traffic outside was loud but no sounds were hears from other rooms. The hotel is in a good location for access to other areas of London with a good selection of restaurants nearby. Overall I would stay here again, very good value for the location.

I had a lovely time at Meininger. I specially enjoyed my single bed in the dorm. It was comfortable and it did not feel like sleeping in 12 bed dorm. It was spacious and cool. I would definitely use this hostel again, it is the best in London.

My first hostel stay”

Had a great stay at this hotel was so much more than what we all imagined! For my first hostel stay it was great, clean room, had a TV, they provided towels and slept really well! The location is brilliant. I would stay here again and definitely use this company again. There was 6 of us in a group and we all felt it was great. I would recommend.

System failure”

Their reservations system crashed, I couldn't check in for three hours. At first staff said there was system maintenance going on and the delay would be ten to fifteen minutes. This stretched, to an hour of waiting and they finally admitted they had no idea when the system would be up. It was three hours before they could give me a key. In a normal hotel this would result in some kind of reduction in the room rate. You fly 17 hours and expect a room to be ready. You're buying accommodation for 18 hours, and 15 percent of that accommodation time was unavailable. Staff said 1) they couldn't knock off the price because if they did they would have to give reductions to all the guests who'd been delayed. Well, yes. 2) It wasn't their fault, it was the computer. It's a clean, high-traffic hostel in a fantastic location. The tourists will keep coming. I won't.

The location is great can walk 10min to harrods and the opposite is history museum But room toilet is very small that's is with the bath together the floor keep wet Otherwise is no kitchen but u can keep the drink in receipt

Clean rooms friendly staff”

Had to book an 8 bedded co ed room. It was alright. Bunk beds were clean comfortable. Mattress could do with a change. Location superb. Walking distance to mnay sites museums and cafes. Would return but would book a single or double room.

My expectations weren't high as I knew this was really more of a hostel than a hotel -- all I wanted was a basic bed in a private room to get about 6 hours of sleep during a layover in London. First, although I requested a single room with a large bed, they instead put me in a 4 person dorm -- it was still private but not at all what I reserved. I got maybe 2 hours of sleep -- even though I had a private room, there was an obscene amount of noise from multiple areas that prevented a night's rest.

Air-Conditioning in December???”

I found the staff unfriendly and certainly not very helpful. I stayed for one night with a group of friends. When we first entered our room we noticed that the cold air conditioning was on (it was mid-December), so we immediately asked for it to be turned off. After arriving back to the hotel after an evening out we found the air conditioning still on. In total we asked four times for it to be turned off but eventually we were informed that it was broken and they were unable to turn it off and they were unable to give us a different room. We all had a terrible night and had to sleep with our coats on! The next morning we complained at reception again and got no satisfaction and were told there was no manager on duty as it was a Sunday? We were told a manager would ring us the following day but as of yet we have not received any phone call.

The room was quite dusty and the bathroom was extremely small, it was even hard for me to turn around,but overall everything was fine.

Für 7,90 GBP pro Person bekommt man ein standardmäßiges Kontinental-Frühstück. Gepäck kann man bis zu 24h im Hotel abstellen. Personal war freundlich und es gab keine Probleme.

Für ein Hostel bzw. mit Hotelzimmern hätte ich schlechteres erwartet, im Großen und Ganzen richtig gut :-)
