Kippers for breakfast”

Great position Good eating all around History around the corner
Parking difficult as I hate multi story car parks.

This is an interesting unusual hotel, well situated with easy access to the main shopping centre in Bristol. Most rooms have a pleasant view of the old dock area and there is a real sense of history around the location. I especially enjoy and look forward to the kippers for breakfast, highly recommended. The Bristol youth get a little rowdy around the hotel, after a few too many beers but this seems very common throughout the more central areas. Despite this and the multi story car park which always fills me with dread as we are usually in a hired car and don’t want to scratch it; we like to stay there when we visit Bristol. The staff are always helpful and friendly which is an added bonus especially in England!

A nice short stay at the heart of Bristol”

Free internet access, location, room size

I stayed here only for 1 night. Nice hotel, clean & spacious room. Shopping centres (Broadmead, The Galleries & Cabot Circus) are within walking distance. Many restaurants are also nearby (Bella Italia, an Italian Resto is recommended. The hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus tour is a must (only 75 mins duration one round) for a short visit. Overall is a nice stay at Mercure Brigstow.

Spur of the moment night away ”

Staff, location and house keeping

It was a very pleasant stay although a wedding was taking place and due to a rugby match on they seemed to take over the tv area with no regard to others no staff member asked them to move also this party had children who were screaming and out of control which echoed through the bar lounge area. I found the rooms still very dark and other guest noise when coming in. I have been to Bristol a number of times and like this hotel just can't predict clientele.

trip to Bristol”

The hotel was very clean, staff friendly and the location of the hotel was very good.

We only stayed one night but everything went smoothly, there was a good choice for breakfast, all the staff were helpful and the room was clean. Only downside there was no parking had to park in an NCP car park which was close only round the corner, the hotel gives you 25% off, so you have to add that to the price of the room.

Another weekend in Bristol”

Location, style & room

Great location, with our room overlooking the river. Ideal for anyone looking to be in the heart of the city. Especially liked the shape of our room, rather than the normal "box" arrangement. This was our 2nd stay & hope to again, subject to a competitive price. I've only rated food/dining as a 3 as we didn't eat at the hotel, but what we saw looked good & no option to ignore this rating.

Very good”

We stayed in a privilege queen room with a view of the river which was lovely. Great to be able to open the sliding window to let some fresh air in (albeit only a few inches due to safety catch) The staff were pleasant and helpful. As we stayed for 2 nights our room key got reset so that was a minor inconvenience to go back to reception to have it reprogrammed. The room was fine and clean. Needed to ask for extra pillows as the ones provided were misshapen and past their best. Plenty of refreshments and espresso pods and a handy fridge to store a bottle of milk. Bathroom was a little rough round the edges, fluff in the corners where it hadn’t been cleaned properly. No flannels to wash with but plenty of toiletries (including a toothbrush kit should you forget yours). A lot of plastic waste though, would be good to see refillable dispensers instead. Parked on Queen Charlotte Street NCP which worked out as £39 for 48hrs. Lots of restaurants and bars near the hotel.

Location, Staff, Buffet Breakfast

The only thing that let this hotel down was the £5 for any form of room service. It's little things like this which ruin otherwise a very pleasant hotel. Great location, friendly staff, good buffet breakfast, nice rooms.

The location is great and the staff were all lovely and very friendly. The rooms are well-equipped and a good size.
