Lovely old hotel, great service”
The white hart hotel is a traditional style hotel, well situated in Salisbury, close to the cathedral, bars and restaurants. A large car park is located directly behind the hotel. I would describe the hotel as a traditional British hotel in a classic Victorian building. Our executive double room was spacious with desk, arm chairs, large 4 poster bed and bathroom with a bath / shower. Well equipped with robes, slippers, bathroom toiletries, etc. Some of the furnishings and carpets are a little tired, but the bits that matter to me, such as, the bed, linen and towels etc, were all high quality. The service was really excellent, with staff eager to oblige, happy to serve us coffees and Brandies a few minutes before the covid 2200 curfew, all be it on a tray to take to our room. The breakfast was full English, cooked to order with continental items available also in take away bags. Thanks to the staff for a lovely and memorable stay. Top tip, as recommended by one of the front desk staff, the Thai restaurant, GigglIng squid, a few minutes walk from the hotel is excellent.

Traditional Georgian outlook - with new facilities”
The hotel is among the highest rated one at Salisbury and it definitely worths the rating. The hotel is very well preserved with its more than 400 years of history, yet it is kept in good state of maintenance that the rooms and corridor are clean and look pretty. The visitors' book was kept at the lobby and we discovered that record of stay as early as 17th Century. Room is spacious. Within the room, the facilities are in good condition and modern (not 400 years old). Good bathing facilities, comfortable mattress, no cool air conditioning but still ok even for my stay during August. There is a small but pretty garden. There was a wedding banquet held at the hotel restaurant and therefore we had not tried the food there. The frontdesk staff was a bit cool. The hotel is away from train station and taxi is a must but it is very close to the main attractions at Salisbury, just 10-minute walk.

Small rooms - good location”
Hotel is a Mercure with nothing really special Room was rather small although ok. Location was convenient in the center of Salisbury. I found that it was a little bit orverpriced. Parking was free and it is good to notice it.

Very central and convenient hotel”
The hotel is centrally located with a lot of pubs and restaurants nearby for dinner. The main attractions are within walking distance. Rooms are clean and reasonably spacious. Prices are reasonable, too. A very good option to stay in Salisbury.

Very old hotel...run down. Check-in staff cannot answer basic questions about price of bus ticket to Stonehenge and if there is parking charges at the Stonehenge; one would think these are essential questions pertaining to a top sight in Salisbury. Worst, she did not even bother to direct us to the concierge. Poor service!

We stayed in this hotel for one night. before going to Stonehenge in the next morning. A 15 minutes walk from the railway station, and the scenery is wonderful along the walk. The hotel is a traditional architecture, and full of British atmosphere.

Old and quaint”
Hotel is good for those who like it old school. No lifts but porters are available. There was an electrical shortage on the night of our stay but staff reacted well and arranged alternate accommodations.

Acceptable”
Put in a room right next to a private property having a hell of party till 3am. Night porter from hotel informed me that the private property did inform the hotel about this and will cease the noise till 1am. Unfortunately it lasted till 3am. If this was known beforehand, I should not be placed in this room, they were fully booked and could not swap rooms for me. This resulted in my cancellation of plans the next day just to get more sleep for my evening flight. Morning hotel staff also did say they did not get the information from the private property. Guess there is a huge communication lapse externally and/or internally. Nevertheless they tried to make it up with a free breakfast and free parking. Late check out was offered which is not useful to me.

The hotel room is kind of small and not really clean especially the carpet. There are point clearly state from the website information that car park need to charge and breakfasts not include and costed 10pound each person even I book the room said included.

It was supposed to be a double room and was set up as twin beds. In the morning we asked for toothpaste and they said they didn't have any! Terrible for 100 pounds per night!

Hotel needs a refit”
Stains everywhere. Carpet bed sheets. Everything creaked. Hotel needs to be gutted. There was a table by the stairs. Which you would have got no one to buy if you put it on eBay. All the doors look dirty.

Taking well care of us during illness”
My husband and I fall sick during our trip to Salisbury this December in 2022, and the staff are very helpful to still taking our last minute requests and orders over the Christmas, so that we could have still some Christmassy spirit inside the room while we are recovering inside the room.

Spent Christmas here as a solo traveller and the hotel staff gave out Christmas card which I appreciated. Location very close to the cathedral and market place. Everything is few steps away even the Salisbury station. ♥️
