Perhaps it was a bad time”

I booked this place for a business trip but backed out immediately after spending 30 minutes in the room. As stated in my title, perhaps it was a bad time for the hosts. This is a family-ran business and it didn't seem like there was designated staff as their teen-age child hesitantly handed off the key. The entry to the room was muddy, one couldn't get to one's room without stepping into the drenched grass (it rained during our visit). Inside the room is actually nice with decent amenities but the room smelled like molds. Upon closer investigation, we found out that the room was not properly sealed from the construction being done on the upper floor. This musty mold smell could be slightly covered once the aircon was on and air circulation was increased. The final straw for us was the smelly sheets and pillows. Unfortunately this was a non-negotiable and sleeping and resting here under this condition is not possible. We left but nobody was there to attend to us and get the key so I left it on the table of their living room. I do not wish to put this family's business on a bad light, I again would like to reiterate that this was perhaps a bad time. I chose the place online because it had stellar reviews but was disappointed by what I experienced. The place is a work in progress and hopefully the hosts could improve on the pathway, room cleanliness and the sheets. Thank you
