My wife and I stopped at Mitchell's for one night for a regular visit to Chester, and I must say it was probably one of the best hotel/guest houses we have ever stayed in, and that includes some top hotels. To start with, Mitchell's is located about 1 mile out of Chester centre, which is easily walkable through some of the most beautiful tree lined streets I have ever seen, some of the houses here are to die for, so on a warm, summers evening it's a pleasure to stroll into the city. The room we stayed in (1) was gorgeous and had recently been upgraded due the fabulous bathroom being obviously bran new, the decor being old and ultra modern making for lovely eclectic mix, all done to a fantastic high quality standard. The whole building is immaculately decorated in antiques and old wooden floors and beautiful carpets and matching decor, all my favourite, if I owned a guest house, this is how I'd have it. The attention to detail is extraordinary, I've never seen anything quite like it before, everything you could ever need is supplied in an immaculately clean state. You could spend all day in your room with a magnifying glass looking for dust and would be wasting your time, it was spotlessly clean. And to top it all the parrot in the kitchen says goodbye and hello when you leave and enter the building, so funny and made it all so special. The breakfast was excellent and was served by the lovely owners in the finest bone china and cutlery, again, everything was there that you needed and was displayed and presented perfectly. I would have no problem at all in recommending the Mitchell's guest house to anyone visiting Chester, it was fantastic and will definitely choose here again the next time we visit. You would struggle to find any better for any price.

Perfect in every way”
We arrived at Mitchells of Chester to be greeted by Helen who owns and run's the Guest House. We were offered coffee and team with biscuits and cakes before Helen then spent the time to go through Chester on a map and tell us how to get to all of the different places of interest along the more scenic routes. This was the perfect start to a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were immaculate and the bathrooms better than most 5* hotels that I have stayed in over the years on business. The attention to detail was excellent, for example the team tray wasnt just a standard instant coffee there was a caffitiere with fresh coffee which for me pushed it into the 5* bracket. The breakfast was excellent, the choice was excellent and the service was perfect. If anyone can find fault with anything at Mitchell's I would be very surprised, I will definitely be coming back here the next time we stay in Chester. Perfect - ten out of ten for everything

A superb Guest House”
We were recommended by friends to stay with them at this Guest House. We come to Chester for a Guild event every year and we have tried three other Hotels in previous years. Including a hotel that cost us nearly twice the price, the standard at the Mitchells of Chester Guest House is far above these other hotels. I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment.

Our weekend away”
Our stay at the Mitchell's of Chester Guest House was lovely and we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. It is in a good location and on a bus route into the city that meant we could leave the car and not worry about parking. The room was very comfortable and clean. The food was amazing and our host was also keen to help with suggestions on where to dine in the evening.

Exceptional small hotel, well situated in a quiet residential area a short walk from Chester city centre. Wide ranging breakfast menu, well presented.butter,preserves & sugars all in delightful dishes rather than in packs. Very pleasant public areas, especially the guests lounge. I shall certainly stay in this hotel on future visits to the Chester area.

Colin and Helen are warm and welcoming hosts. From the tea/coffee and cake on arrival to the complete attention to detail in the rooms and at breakfast, everything is taken care of and nothing is to much trouble. We enjoyed our stay at Mitchells, the drawback was the traffic noise as the house is on main road and we found traffic starts about 5am. We were in very nice front room, I am sure traffic wiuld be lighter at a weekend.

It was an amazing place to stay, from the minute we arrived we were impressed with the welcome and service. All the rooms were absolutely beautiful. Lovely”
It was lovely. Sits outside the main city so with good walking shoes you can enjoy the easy picturesque walk into town. Hosts were really informative re: walks into the city and sights to see. Room was quiet with nice view of the garden and quality towels/toiletries. Breakfast was excellent enjoyed in their home chatting with other guests.

Pleasant Stay in Chester”
Accommodation looks quite unassuming from the outside, but inside is a bit like a trip to a good National Trust property. Ground floor decor is period with a comfortable residents lounge including honesty bar. Separate breakfast/dining room complete with chandelier. Upstairs the rooms are modern decor with plenty of space, the best selection of tea and coffee making materials that I can recall seeing and designer toiletries in the en-suite. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the owners during our stay. Really difficult to fault.
