Amazing ”
We had such a great two night stay at Mottram Hall. We paid for a garden view, upon arrival we were overlooking the car park, a simple phone call to reception and we were moved immediately to a room with a better view. Such a lovely laid back atmosphere, felt totally relaxed, the staff were all nice and quite a few freebies were given. Spa facilities are nice, slightly busy for the day time slot, would recommend an evening slot. Nice room, very clean and loved the Elemis toiletries. Would definitely recommend!

Don't waste your money”
We paid for two nights and both had breakfast on one morning. Dusty skirting and radiator. Grimy shower screen. They forgot to clean our room and bathroom, did not make beds or replenish tea tray. Room card failed and I was spoken as if I had never used room card before. Hope this was a one off because at nearly £400 for two nights, l don't think it's good enough. First time of years staying in hotels all over the world that this has happened to us.

Disappointed ”
Shambles unprofessional such a shame this could be amazing Checked in was told breakfast time and that was it , no information on where or how to get to the spa or restaurants no info in our room which was old and tired with filthy back window sills and chipped marked furniture and wardrobe door handles falling off . The girl on spa reception was the most unpleasant unfriendly person in the wrong job .she said they no towels then just looked at me for. A few seconds then gave me a robe instead clearly not wanting to after wondering around trying to find the changing room while she watched us do this I asked if we could have the spa slipped was to no then after the pool soaking wet beat foot through the reception back to changing room she said I have a small pair of flip flops then huffed and puffed because she had to get up to get them

Bank Holiday Weekend Stay”
I stayed at Mottram Hall over the late May bank holiday weekend whilst attending a wedding in a nearby town. This is a beautiful looking hotel with well maintained grounds and interior. The hotel was always clean and the staff were polite. However, staff weren't always particularly helpful, and it often took a long time to be served in the restaurant, worse still, during one dinner I had at the restaurant I felt hassled by a waiter who was keen to free up the table. The room itself wasn't ideal, I was placed by the stairs and it was very noisy in the evenings and mornings, which was certainly not the fault of the hotel but more could be done in future to insulate that wall, should permission be granted for that sort of renovation. Overall my stay was nice, but the high cost of the room (likely as a result of the bank holiday) did not match the standard of room or service.

Overnight stay”
Food is VERY expensive for what you get. I satyed overnight when on a business trip and first impressions were great, clean, big room, lovely setting...etc. but the cost to actually eat there was crazy for what you get. I ate in the champagne bar as it had the cheapest menu, i picked a gourmet burger at £15:50 and it was nothing more than a couple of bits of reheated burger patty's that were so tough it was hard to cut into and some lettuce and gerkins....not great.... and to top it off they charged me £17 for it???( Ive still to write a letter of complaint). £5:50 for a pint of lager was also a bit steep. Real shame, its made it unecconomical to use on business trips due to the high cost of food.

Lovely hotel but be careful which room you're allocated. ”
The bedroom was very warm and noisy as we were above an area for hotel staff.

Small room very noisy”
Really disappointed with the room it was so small! The bed didn't even seem like a double. We were next to some sort of laundry facility and it was really loud with no view. We checked in late so possible got left with the worst room! Everything else was splendid; breakfast, staff, location. Unfortunately we would not stay again.

Had better....”
The facilities and front of house are lovely. Staff are hit and miss. However, my room was appalling, the service in the restaurant was poor and the food is expensive, slow to arrive and the dinner menu lacks options!
