      A hidden gem guesthouse 5 minutes walk from Clifden center. Perfect base for visiting Connemara !”

      Patrick and Cathriona are the perfect example of real assets amongst the famous Irish hospitality. I just can’t recommend their house highly enough to discerning people. If Connemara has a lot to offer on its own, it also certainly has Patrick and Cathriona guesthouse, their hospitality, benvolence and kindness and it would be a real shame to miss out and not stopping at their place. Simple as that. The accodomation situation, facilities, room comfort and equipments, breakfast, cleanliness, quietness and organisaton are perfect and spot-on. For every euro spent, I easily received 10. In a nutshell : stopping by at their house for few nights or making it a base in Clifden while visiting parts of Connemara areas is a no-brainer. Thank you very much .

      We really enjoyed our stay at the Buttermilk Lodge guesthouse. Great location, within 5 minutes walk of the beautiful Clifden town. The guesthouse was spotless, staff were very friendly and ensured we were comfortable, adhered to all Covid 19 rules. The breakfast was exceptional, not forgetting Cathrionas beautiful homemade brown bread.. Thanks also to Cathriona for the lovely tea and cake on our arrival. You made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be recommending Buttermilk Lodge to our family and friends. Thanks again to Patrick and Cathriona, we will be back. Kind regards Bernie and Brendan

      I booked this guesthouse at the last minute after being let down by another place. And it was great! I was cycling and got soaked so chanced my arm to see if I could check in early. My room was ready and was welcomed with a big pot of tea and fresh fruit bread! Room was big, lovely en-suite bathroom and the most comfortable bed ever! Great location to the town centre. The breakfast was unbelievable! The best gluten free breakfast I have ever tasted! Friendly owners and would happily stay here again!

      My colleagues and I had a wonderful stay at Buttermilk Lodge. The sitting room is comfortable and spacious. The hosts were wonderful - really helpful. For me, the breakfast was a highlight - generous portions and cooked to order. They also provided gluten-free options. Buttermilk Lodge is really well run. The room names are taken from local lakes; this is a B&B with a sense of place.

      Buttermilk lodge is walking distance from Clifden town centre, when we arrived we were shown to our lovely room and offered pot of tea and delicious fruitcake in the lounge. The bed was comfortable it was nice and quiet. The breakfast was extremely good, great choices and good quality food well cooked by our very pleasant hosts. Absolutely fabulous! We could not fault Buttermilk lodge.

      The hosts are very kind and welcoming. I loved the super comfortable and huge bed, and the water pressure in the shower is amazing! Great breakfast. It’s a quick walk into town. Overall this is a very cute and cozy B&B. Also, I forgot my jacket during my stay and the hosts arranged for it to be brought to me at my next hotel the following day. They really care about their guests!! Wish I could have stayed more nights.

      Our stay at the buttermilk lodge was flawless. Beds are super comfortable, location is ideal, rooms are spotless and have every amenity you could possibly think of. Breakfast was delicious, all the food was so fresh e.g fruit and the amazing homemade brown bread. Staff are out of this world. Catriona made us feel so at home and welcome. Will most definitely be coming again.

      Great hosts with amazing breakfast, comfortable room and close to town. Lots of parking and even tea down in the communal room as well as in bedroom. Great location if you are wanting to see around Connemara.

      Exceptional guest house ideally place for visiting Clifden and the Connemara coast and mountains. Great welcome from the host who made us tea and coffee. Big comfortable room overlooked the mountains and breakfast was superb.

      Lovely stay! The hosts were very friendly and we got a warm welcome with tea and cake on arrival. The location is really nice to explore the area and it is only a short walk to town. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We absolutely loved the log fire in the evening!

      The innkeepers were friendly and knowledgeable about the town of Clifden. They provided a wonderful breakfast with many selections. Our room was very comfortable. It was a very easy walk into town.

      The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were newly renovated and shower was amazing. Breakfast was delicious and staff adhered to all COVID 19 precautions. Staff were all so lovely and was a treat to be able to visit the ponies!

      Everthing was fantastic about this little gem, the location, the room, the facilities and the breakfast. The owners are a lovely couple and nothing was too much trouble, we even got to go up to their farm to see the Connemara ponies that they breed, wonderful! Cathriona makes a brown bread with fruit and walnuts and seeds which is to die for! We would highly recommend this guesthouse.
