Avoid the ENTIRE week of Halloween if you don't have children”

We thought Halloween was the 31st of October and arrived a week before to find the hotel in full Halloween mode with tens of screaming children all delighted to be 'on their holidays'. As two over sixties couples who had booked this hotel because it was not city centre (therefore quiet) and had a spa which we were looking forward to, what a misjudgement. The restaurant, had withdrawn the a la carte menu in favour of an unacceptable set €25 three course (two adults eat and children are free buffet).No thanks. We could not use the spa as the pool was full of screaming children until 7 pm. I know this makes us seem like an old moaners who are anti family. The contrary is the case. We had just come from a stint of babysitting our own grandchild in order to give his parents a break. We were therefore looking forward to a lovely quiet break with friends, good food and the spa none of which we got.

Booking issues through Agoda made this visit a huge headache”

The good: The location was easy to get to (although further from town that I expected). Lots of spa options. The room was rather large. The bar restaurant was good and very busy with friendly staff. The hotel front desk staff was very helpful and happy to help with travel advice. The bad: There was black mold all over the shower. I only had one towel in the bathroom. The food at the hotel was not great. The gym was small and had limited hours. My view was of the roof of the front building (very unappealing)

One thing that was unfortunate was the level of noise at night. I don't know if there was a concert or something but from 9pm to 3am on both nights I stayed there was booming music and someone on a mic that could be heard quite clearly from my room. I did struggle to sleep but I would assume this was just unfortunate timing and this wouldn't be the norm

SPA WAS PHENOMONAL AND VERY KIND STAFF. VERY NICE ROOM SO SPACIOUS. GREAT BED TO SLEEP IN. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Fantastic Wedding Anniversary Stay”

Stayed here with my wife for our wedding anniversary as we had our reception in the hotel many years ago. It is a pricey stay, we also stayed on a Saturday which explains the €200 price tag. Hotel is lovely, rooms were large and comfortable, and the bed was fantastic- huge and so comfortable. Staff were amazing, gave us a complimentary upgrade and a dessert plate as an Anniversary gift. Pros Staff were friendly and accommodating. Hotel facilities and rooms were fantastic. Breakfast was very good. Cons Located outside of the city, car/taxi required to get into the city Expensive enough

I paid for a superior room and have yet to find out what was superior about it . It was no larger than a normal room, bathroom was small , tv was flat but not big . Rang reception 3 times to book a taxi with no answer , went down to book one queue of check ins so ended up having to drive to Limerick which going against the whole reason I chose this hotel so that I could leave my car at the hotel ! Disappointed. Asked at reception briefly was everything ok but had no chance to respond as she said that's everything thanks when I handed her the room cards .

Local Bus strict, forced to take taxi to city....8 ks. away....staff did not seem to care or offer any alternatives....oh well....traveling is like this!

Shuttle bus runs every 15 mins to Thommond park. Hotel very child friendly. It has a wee playground, tennis courts, pool walking trail. Staff very very friendly. Breakfast good. Had food in hotel bar and it was nice. Would definetly return and I imagine it would be even nicer during the summer time
